How is oil changing tuning? That's called SERVICING not tuning...

So shall we call all tuned cars from here on Les Pauls?

Regulations: Oiled Les Paul's allowed

Don't mind me it's morning here and I'm only half way through my coffee

xNero: How's 19:30EST sound? Not this weekend but next, Sat afternoon on 24th for you Sunday 25th 11:30am for my guys.

If you want more drivers then there's a few guys on this thread that wouldn't mind driving I'm sure. Guys if you're keen go do some hot lappin' with the specs and have a pic of your best time handy, I'll whip up a thread in the spot races forum and you can post it there. Fastest 4 get a spot 👍

xNero, once you confirm date & time I'll do the thread.

Damage stays on, honestly bro if you don't have the patience to steer clear of traffic to avoid damage then... Then you've no business claiming to strive for realism. Patience is the key, along with consistency, in a long race; let someone take the first corner, there'll be probably 18 laps of corners so you'll have time to work your magic...

I'm always suspicious when someone balks at having damage turned on...

And often (not always, but often) I'm right to be... In that they just can't handle it because they're just too darn sloppy.

They want to be able to drive fast from sloppy corner to sloppy corner riding walls & doing wild risk taking that would surely have them collecting too much damage to be fast in the long-run.

Seems, in my experience, those people are also rather afraid to drive poor handling road cars. They want their cars flat & on rails, because if it's not "arcade-like" and Burnout-esque, they're out of their element.

Just saying. That's what I've noticed.
I'm not criticizing either. If someone wants to play GT5 as they would Burnout, or in an arcade style, that's their business! 👍

What makes you to judge how I drive? You've haven't even seen me or my friends in action. So don't stereotype me or my friends driving. My logic is why play with damage on when there's a room full of smart people that know how to drive?

Don't feed the Trolls

You're just digging yourself a deeper hole..

lol Who was judging anything?
What part of "I'm suspicious" and "often but not always" didn't make sense in my post?

Geez, touchy touchy. Doest thou protest too much?

👍

I can't say p.imped. So what they're 0.20 secs apart? It's not a real race car, they're p.imped. As I said, my cars stay clean. If you ever do real race cars, let me know I'll be open to do it.
Tuned/suped up or race tuned, even.

P1mped out cars are flashy, not suped up.

Like a champ.

Off Topic/Slightly on topic.
Though I wish there was a second oil change. One that isn't adding magic BHP and level the car useless in non-tuning rooms.
Oilchange shouldn't be considered tuning and it shouldn't give that much added BHP.
:/
👍 👍 👍 👍

This is really becoming sad. Arrogance wins you no friends.

I could understand this coming from a 15 year old but a 21 year old troll :indiff:

When you get to be my age, the difference between 15 & 21 doesn't look that big. ;)

I think I am long past you there

In summation: People have offered races... You're either too good for the race, won't tune a road car, or too busy. So... in the end this thread was pointless.

Racing tuned road cars is actually one of the most satisfying experiences I've had racing. Trying to get the best possible setup and stay with in the regulations but still have the edge over your opponents... it doesn't get better. It brings a different dimension to the game. Plus, i spend half my time just fiddling with setups... its half the fun.

No tuning on road or race cars? I'd like to see a weekend racer who doesn't add performance upgrades like air filter, exhaust headers and brake pads (these are often required by clubs due to CAMS ruling on track cars) not to mention suspension settings that can even be changed between sessions. Mate the whole point of this game is to out tune each other, just like the real world. If tuning your car was considered blasphemy then why do tuning houses exist?

I'm too busy? If you read I was up for the challenge also, I said I had to talk it over with my friends. My friends are only on weekends or playing something else other than GT5, that goes for me too. I'm too good to race with people? For one that Turbo guy's Miata race was DLC cars, I don't own the DLC. His souped road car race, doesn't appeal to me or my friends. What's wrong with me or my friends not liking it? Me and my friends drive stock road cars if we want to race them. You mention you spend time fiddling with setups, I do it to with my race cars.

I guess I don't do it then. I keep my cars clean, that goes for race cars. The only thing I fiddle with is my car settings for my race cars.

The one think I take from all of this is that you, xNeroZero want people to be subjected to your rules but don't want to be subjected to others rules.

Fast racers race anything. I have Gt300 and 500 cars and all of them are catching dust. racing those cars are just too easy. Road cars are where it's at my friend.

HP races never win over PP races. I race at night in a guys room that you have to hope someone leaves so you can get in. I am there sometimes 5-10 mins waiting to get in.

He sets the room at certain pp. Race any street car. This makes his races so attractive because it gives you a wide range of cars that can be used. The guys raid the used car garage and dealership to get another car for the next night.

Most people in HP races add all parts available then use the limiter to make the cut. You could be driving a 600ppcar because of all the parts you have on where another that is bone stock is only at 550, just an example. Your fast when you win pp races in my eyes because it is more about skill than the car even though some cars at a certain pp are better once setup the right way.

As everyone basically said, with an attitude like yours, you will lose friends quickly. I can only imagine what it's like in the room you control if you act this way in a place where your trying to sell a product to the very customers your trying to attract.

Good luck my friend.

Why do you think I made my own series? Of course I want to control my own series. On the other hand how I'm I suppose to compete with Turbo's series? Sponsors, prizes, PSN cards and spread sheet introductions? It's a complete monopoly for getting the best players. As for modifying cars, I can't do that. I feel it takes away from the originality of it, that's why my cars stay clean. Which is why I drive race cars if I want to compete against my friends.

Dude yes his series is huge and yes it's hard to compete with.... which is why you don't try.

I could set up a series, were I wont to do so, and with a bit of thought, decorum and good old fashioned sales pitching I could have it full and appealing to a lot of folks in not long.

Another thing you need around here is a good name for yourself and you're not going about that the best way at all.

Honestly, I don't care if some one was an ass.hole to me. If you're good and don't waste my time. I could careless if you were mean and called me names over the internet. Being good is what counts.

See that's the problem too, you cannot compete with series like that. Someone suggested joining others series. To me that is a good way to get to know other good racers and for them to get to know you and trust you.

One thing I have a problem with is joining a room, winning by a big margin or challenging the host and getting booted. I have had that happen to me so many times even in out of the country rooms. When people offer advice sometimes it is better to just say ok than to confront them because as you know everyone can see what you say in a forum so it's not good self promotion to come off like superior than everyone here when you have only met 5 ppl if you get what I mean.

I race stock production as well at a specific pp though, never did hp because for instance a nsx at 276hp is faster than a 350z at 276 by alot. This is why pp works better. I race gt300 a couple times with hp rules and it was crazy because everyone had an autobac or rx7. I don't like when everyone is driving the same car unless it's a one make race. I like production pp ( not saying you should) because the chance of finding rooms are highly likely more so than the race car rooms.

As a good racer I think you should be able to take your car to another place and be competitive not just in your house. Whether it be pp or hp, race car or production. Join someones racecar series and kick their asses, i bet you will have alot of friends after that. I have so many friends from ppl I have raced with just because I race them hard and race them clean. Winning is not my only objective online. This is the first time I have been able to have a world full of potential friends to play the game I been playing since the series started and I intend to take advantage of it to the fullest. Don't make bad waves because of frustration buddy, just fine tune your series and keep it friendly. Take your friends and get in some spot races or something and see what your really made of in someone else house. You will get ppl if your that fast.

When your winning, in your joining message and leaving message, advertise your series. People will notice it just because you were the one that was winning.

You know this is a game and there's a society here... ?

And by "here", I mean the planet Earth.

Point of this thread is for the OP to find a fast guy to race and prove him and his mates are fast?? Yet so far has turned down all challenges and offers of a race due to stupid reasons?

I'll happily race you and your mate, you pick the track and car and what ever and we can do it by your rules. As for being fast.. Well I'm not the super fastest in the world, But I have won a few GT5 championships against Academy finalist drivers and I qualified in the top teir at GTP's Weekly Race Series, so its a decent enough level to start with. I have raced with some of the very best guys in the world (Silverstone Academy World finalists) and could quickly tell if you are in the same league or not.

Put up or shut up?

On another note:

More info on my challenge:

Car restrictions: Super GT300 class
Power restrictions: 305HP maximum
Weight: 1100kg Maximum
Tyre Choice: Open
Damage: Heavy
Penalties: Heavy
Modifications: Open
Track: Nurb 24hr Change Weather
Time: 12 noon in game
Grip = Real
Slipstream- Weak
Boost: None
Location: Public room
Participants: 3 on 3, 1 steward and 5 lucky spectators.

That's it for now.

That looks to be a real fun challenge 👍 I'd love to compete against your guys, still interested in getting it off the ground? I notice your Australian too, so time zones shouldnt be an issue :D

Absolutely, I will PM you :)

Hmm, a huge "oops" for me.... The weight of 1100kg is a MINIMUM folks, not sure what happened there :dunce:
