...apart from originality, oh, and the interior - the GT's interior is poor.

That was my freaking POINT. Driftster said ignorantly that the GTO was a bad performance value, I asked him to find another car for its price with more horsepower. In reality, there AREN'T ANY, making Driftster wrong. But West Side Ninja for some reason decided he could take on logic and argue against this. He understands the point - you've missed it.

So driftster said the gto was a bad performance value? Yoy told him to find a car for its price with equal or more horsepower? Why ask to match the horsepower number, thats just one part of performance? You should have asked for and equal or better total performance value then., no just peak hp. There are a few faster, better handling cars for less than the gto's price.
So for the gto's price your not gonna find anything with more power, but you will find somethiing that accelerates, handles, and brakes better.

Because Driftster's never driven a GTO. And he'd just argue about how 'it drives like a yacht' when he's probably never even been in one.
 
And he automatically assumes I've never driven the GTO. I don't agree with him therefore I musn't have ever SEEN the car in person let alone drive it. Super Cirrus it's obvious now.

Same can be said for the Interior of a NSX....Last time I checked the NSX wasn't a bad car....But I suppose when you're going to the car lot and see something labeled GTO..You EXPECT....6 disc CD changer, 4 seats, Grand Prix Styling and a whopping 350HP in a 3000lb shell...

Well good thing I'm on this site to have educational conversations with fellow automobile enthusiests and not to appeal to you. As it stands a car you''re buying for PERFORMANCE..Tha major issue is PERFORMANCE not headroom not trunk/BOOT(learning) space, not the 3,000 whopping dollars that seperates it's high 13 sec 1/4 miles to a cobra's mid/low 13 sec 1/4 runs and cheap HP gains....HP #'s don't matter if the car is slow/sluggish/or a boat....

Oh, it's not about appeal. I'm simply saying that I don't buy any of your bull****, and while I implore you to prove any of it, I know you never will. ;)

By the way, the rest of your post was irrelevant, poorly-written, and partly nonsensical, so I'm not replying to it. I'm on to you.

The Cobra is the best performance car under $44800. If vehicles that can't compete with the Cobra can't be called performance cars, then pretty much nothing is a performance car.

There's not much much better. There's slightly better. I implore you to name "much much better". Are you old enough to drive?
 
I think the '05 hood is gaudy in true Pontiac fashion.

To my dismay it has actually quelched a lot of the complaints of 'muscle car guys' that the GTO is 'boring' or 'Cavalier-esque'.

there might be some on motortrend or car and driver if you are intersted thats where i heard they are haveing an option for the 2004 GTO to have this hood so they can get rid of the 04 models or something like that.
 
The new GTO is definitely in the "Not" category...looks too much like all Pontiac's other cars....rounded-off and cheesy/gaudy....yeah it's got 340HP but it also weighs a good bit...when i heard Pontiac was reinventing the GTO i was pretty excited....until i saw it... :grumpy:
