I have to say Painkiller as well. It's very unique and stylized. I suppose Stalker is in a close second. Doom III seems like more of the same and I'm not too sure about HL2. I never really played the first one.

It's a tough one for me between HL2, Doom3, and the as of yet unseen yet under production Quake IV. (probably this years E3 as Id has several big titles slated allegedly.)

Sweet Jeebus - that's all I got to say about Half-Life 2.

You've probably heard this before, but the videos of HL2 that are available on the net DO NOT do that game justice. It was a weird feeling, being in a roomful of guys that were practically speechless from watching the live footage.
