Probably too soon to be asking this, but I'm guessing that one of the administrators (likely Mr.Indigo:D) will get selected up to the position of the one and only Super Admin

Or I'm mistaken, and the whole site will be shut down??:D

Do you have any plans up for this Jordan? Sorry if I'm sounding like an idiot, but I'm really curious:lol:

Slight problem with that - I'm ten years older than Jordan. I'll be retiring first

 I guess this site will go through one more generation of moderators.

By that time, I think we'll have highly advanced AI software which could moderate a site on it's own:scared:

That's an interesting question, but it's impossible to say, really, as I don't know what the conditions will be when that time comes around. Of course, I'd leave things in the hands of the people I trust the most, but I don't plan on "retirement" any time soon. :)

He gives control of the wheel to Jordan Jr. ........ (if there is a Jordan Jr.)

I'll just buy the site from Jordan and hire Jose Mourinho to run it.

Let me think .......lol

How old were you, Jordan, when you made the original gtplanet.net?

What Ace said.

If I were drinking something, I definitely would have spit some of it up.

I think Jordan Jr. or some supercomputer he was secretely working on for when the moment arrived will run the site. What about the computer that was on Jepeordy?

Can't think of anything witty off the bat. I was going to say something along the lines of Egypt and the Internet, but didn't want to make anyone upset. Then I thought of a tournament involving some obscure racing game (Rock 'n Roll racing....etc.). Regardless, whoever gets Excalibur will have been chosen wisely.

Gran Turismo may not exist anymore by the time Jordan retires. So he may have to close the site down :( That's the worst case scenario though :)

Don't agree. Have no interest in the thread's title question, for all I know this site is Jordan's to do what pleases him.

But your post raises a much more interesting question. Jordan started this as a Gran Turismo fan site. Is it still that? Yes and No. Does it depend on the continuation of the GT franchise to iterations 6, 7 and beyond? Of course not. Before being GT fans, 99% of the people here are racing games fans, and I'm sure GTPlanet would be able to remain a reference site for "racing gamers".

My 2 cents

That guy monster_man was hilarious... Hilarious to read online that is, I don't think he'd be a bundle of joy to be around irl.

We can always hope he grew up to be wiser now, that link sends us 8 years back in time. IOn fact, I was looking at the date of his post only to realize than, when it was written, yesterday's Daytona 500 winner was ... a 12 years old kid!

Yeah, I was wondering why he wasn't on the Banned User Log, he deserves a place of his own:D

HAHA, people who use this site are frikkin losers. Check outside of gaylord "GTPLANET" cuz this crappy old site needs to be shut down. YOU guys DONT EVEL BELIEVE FRIKKIN USRES!! NOW WTF IS WRONG WIT U!! I should have neva became a member. Members, you should quit

If he really was an admin, I would have no doubts as to why that site got shut down:lol:

Maybe... It was hilarious though... I started using the internet when I was 10 (at the end of 97) and I can honestly say, I have never posted anything so ridiculous on any site...

And now I'm hoping no one trawls through my post history and finds some "drunk speak" :sly:.

I agree it's more of a site for racing games fans, but what I meant was that to find gtplanet you have to search for 'gtplanet' or 'Gran Turismo'. Those searching for Forza/Iracing/NeedForSpeed etc. will be sent to forums dedicated to those games, not gtplanet. Like I said it's worse case scenario that the loss of visitors to this site may cause it to close down. :nervous:
I sincerely hope that it doesn't and that GT and gtplanet keep going for a long time to come.

I think that the collective leadership at the moment is good enough to ensure that as long as there's an internet there will be a GTPlanet... I can't see Jordan or any of the admin team letting it get bad enough to the point where there's no suitable heir!

Once everyone has become bored of Gran Turismo and nobody is playing it, Jordan has promised to hand the reins over to me. This means I can do what I like with that site and that will probably mean turning it into a place where likeminded people who enjoy sudoku, sushi and macrame can spend quality time together :D

Hey, you never mentioned that part. :grumpy: I may just re-launch Gifts & Toys Planet.

Here's a little fact about GTP. Most of the long term, active members here actually spend most of their time outside of the GT forums. Thus, if GT does indeed end one day, there is a high chance that most of us sticking around will still be posting in the other 80% of this forum. :)
