Im pretty new to this modding thing, ive heard about the results of it, but never seen anything untill seeing that video. I have a couple of questions about it though... im a huge fan of turboed cars, i especially love the sound of them and their dumb valves.. would there be a possibility to crack the volume up on the dump valve sound in GT4 when people know how to mod the game?
Allso, in real life (ive experienced this first hand) there is NO problem getting 1000hp+ in a RB26DETT engine (Skyline GTR). but this seems not so possible in GT4... i want to be able to do exactly that. would that be possible with modding?
Denzo yes that'd be entirely possible. Heck you could crack 2k horsepower, 50k horsepower if you wanted to.
yeah..but anything over 2.5k is useless

Actually crazyazn, it isnt, lots of us have hybrids for GT3 w\ abit more than that, I have a Zonda Race Car w\ a lil over 4400 hp, it does approx 320+ mph, quick accel, quick stopping, great handling.. Horsepower #'s depend alot on the drivetrain, tire grip, downforce, weight .. but naturally 50k hp is abit excessive, I had a RUF once that did abit over 800 mph around the test track, I dont know if I still have the .INI file but I do have the video clip of it atleast, it was pretty cool
As for MK and an Editor, GH from GT Saga said something about MK wasnt going do it because the save was encrypted ?? GH then tried finding a programmer that'd help w\ it but he wanted to charge like $55 an hr and said it'd proly take several weeks just to go through it and make tables or whatever, I'm not a hacker/ programmer so I don't know about that ..
I tried getting help on it at CodeMasters but nothing really turned up other than suggestions of maybe learning C++ myself

(trick: max the ride height because downforce will push your car down, and if the car touch the ground , it doesnt turn.)
well thats true i geuss but most people tend not to adjust the inis themselves.
It depends on the car as to whether or not 50,000 horsepower is excessive. My fastest hybrid has about that much, and it can pull insane times around many courses. 33 seconds at midfield, like 42 seconds at Apricot. It has a bit of wheelspin problem up to 120 mph, but it never touches that speed after it hits it so it never has a problem with wheelspin. It's mainly about the dynamics of the car.

Ok Trigger, I thought it was excessive as well as some others I've seen wanting to put 1,000,000 + hp in their cars, for a car that is practical for racing rather than insane stunts...
If it works for you thats great I've kept most of my cars under 5000hp as it seemed most sutiable for practical racing

The way I have the car set up works great for me, you might need to tweak it to suit you though, depending on your driving style ..
O, and I think the car is still as it was when I last drove it, I cant be sure since I hadnt played GT3 since last year ..
if you change setting by the game, it will set the setting back to default. be sure to change them by the .ini, but im sure you knew that

yep mike, I even noticed sometimes importing cars into MKsE would change all the gear ratios to 65.??? which would halt your car in game if you left them that way ...
Well ... since we were speaking of hybrids amp, I didnt think it too practical to try to actually run races w\ a car that has 100,000 hp for example ... I simply found that the cars I hybrided were quite driveable in the range I specified, you didnt have to struggle to steer them, brake, end up flying into walls and tailspins half the time etc..., they had excellent accel, braking, speed and very lightweight...

in my ps2,
and costar, i agree, that s2000 was just to find where it ends, i prefer my hybrid in gt3 between 1500-3500 hp 1500 with less downforce, slower but nicely balance and some little drifter but not to much, still a fast car.

I know mike, I tried a few of those kinds of cars, ylg had an Integra that did an insane several 100,000 mph, it sounded like a dentist drill, but it was pretty cool ..

We still dont know anything of MK, I hope everything is ok w\ him, but he claims he said he wasnt going to do an Editor, GH said that there are "some people" who are I guess working on maybe some codes, he suggested some good ones might be weight, chassis and the like ..
I still dont know why someone hasnt figured out a no tire wear -(tires stay green/yellow) code derivative from the no tire wear -(tires stay blue) code ..
Someone mentioned some place called "GTX" like it was a messageboard or something, where is this place ? I can't even find it using a seach engine ..

and im waiting too for that mk program, even if its not as complete as it was for gt3, or just some code, like hp multiplier, not the 16x thing, that we can see the hp. and wheel swapping too, and what u said
i think we will be soon getting those code, but not the program, way too time consuming to do, may be one more year, what do you think?

When GT4 first came out, mk claimed to be boycotting, most likely because he found out early about the encryption that appears to make creating a GT4 version of the GaragEdit program impossible...

Maybe some people more code-hacking inclined might be able to find us some codes sooner rather than later..
I've tried understanding some of that code in GT4 that is displayed using ps2dis but I am really not able, I cant seem to even get help w\ understanding what it is I'm seeing ..
I was told the game or save was encrypted and thats why Mk wasnt doing a program .. I noticed that some of these tuts on hacking using ps2dis used examples of games that showed quite abit if plain text. I mean if its a GTA game, & it shows labels like "Free resprays" I mean how is it to find that plain text label & understand what it means, if its listed just like that ..
Its abit harder to find say weight reduction values in GT4 if when you look at the SLUS in Ps2dis & all you see are characters like this

How can anybody read that, unless that is whats meant by, its "encrypted" ?
I was told if I wanted to try to find things say in GT4 or whatever, that maybe I should try learning C++ , I have learned a lil about it infact but ...
so far nothing has helped w\ GT4, I've just learned how to write some simple "message" programs ...

God I Hate This Encryption!!! I've been at it for weeks...yet nothing...

Forza Motorsport allows for engine swaps. I hope GT5 follows suit and allows for at least some hybriding options or G.T. is going to have an upset fanbase.
If Sony & Polyphony Digital would even go for half of the ideas I have (don't worry, they wouldn't ruin the game) as far as a graphical user interface (or G.U.I.) and how cars get tuned, etc. then Gran Turismo would be much more enjoyable for those of us who like to get down and dirty with the customization of cars. It would also remain easy enough for the lay person to follow.
How you had to wait for everything to load was teh worst thing about the gui. Otherwise its fine...jsut the loading times.
Oh, I'm getting into the "how's" and "what's" in the tuning department. The current user interface is nice, but it can be improved upon in terms of what we can tweak and tune.
Hybrids in GT4 might just be close to impossible. Nobodies got even close to making any kind of a breakthrough. But if anyone working on it needs anything from me (I don't know exactly what I could do) don't hesitate to ask. I now back for good!
