So, where do we all come from?

I'm here because at one point, I was stalking Famine. Then I just couldn't leave :)

Initially I bought GT4 after years of playing 3 at my cousins house. But I never really got into it that much. Then around March I got fed up with playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted [Black Edition]. My frustrations went away went I popped in my GT4 disc that I had lying around I was pretty bad though so I ended up coming here to figure out whether or not GT4 had any cheats. Sadly It didn't But I ended up staying anyways because I was getting info on the game and learning more and more about it every day. I ended up hanging around the GT4 drift sub-forums and started learning more about the game. During the past few months though I've been wandering the Rumble Strip more often. I'm glad I'm here, even if a few of you don't seem to like me too much...

I just googled for some tune ups to cars in GT4 and I found the great database here. Joined in March 15 of 2008 and my posts easily spread like wildfire on this forum. Now its 2009 and I can't wait for a whole year of GTPlanet awesomeness.:)👍

Bought GT2 in 2003 (I think it was 03).

Found this place via Google when I was trying to find setups for the Escudo (yes, it's true.... lol) in April 2004. Well, I'm still here, so that means I've been a member here for nearly five years. :D

Honestly, I can't actually remember the true reasons for why I surfed on into GTP. Probably info on GT4, seems to be the more popular answer, but honestly no real idea.

GTP was the first forum I had joined, I was looking for info on GT4 and came across this site. I wandered GTP for about half a year as a guest, then I finally convinced my parents to let me become a member. I haven't joined any other GT forums since (although I have joined forums for other games). Nowadays the GT aspect of the site is still present, but the majority of the time I'm in the Rumble Strip looking for an interesting thread.

:-)

How did you convince them?

I came here with a lot of others when the original GTF went downhill. That place was awesome at one time, then the deification hit the rotary oscillator.

I found this place in 2004, but stayed a lurking guest for AGES, and didn't end up joining until late 2005. :p The rest, you all know and read everyday. :sly:

I was originally on the GT forums on PSN (formally PSU), and finally signed up here this year.

I lurked while looking for release dates for GT4. Then I wanted to watch some videos of license tests and had to join. Even then I didn't say much until I wandered into the Opinions forum. I had to do some correcting.

This February will mark four years at GTP for me.

I haven't been an active member of any other site.

almost 2 years ago I Google searched 'Gran Turismo 4 drift settings' and it brought me here. And they haven't been able to find a reason to ban me yet.:dunce:

I got into GTP because I was looking for a 100% game save for my game save account. I found one but I needed to be a member to download it, so I signed up obviously. Anyway I got my game save and was rather pleased with it so a few days later I decided to come back to the forums and have a proper look around, what with it having so many members. I started posting in the GT5P forum as it provided a nice common ground for everyone to share their ideas. Gradually I moved on from the GT5P forum because of all the repetative threads and I fancied more of a debate. Naturally I headed straight for the off-topic section which is now where I can be found most of the time.

Joined 25th October 2008. Already over 500 posts but I can't haz custom titles as its not been 90 days!

I didn't really come from any other site and I wasn't participating on any video game related site until I did a Google search while trying to find an answer for a question I had about a car in GT4, which is how I found GTP:

My understanding of this car is that AMG made 25 of them and they all had 6.9 liter V12 DOHC engines, yet in the game it says it is a 5 liter V8.

I read somewhere that AMG also had a 5.5 liter supercharged V8 engine they used in a version of the CLK-GTR built for the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) racing series, but that still would not match-up with the specs in GT4 as it says it is naturally aspirated and only 5 liters.

Is this a known "oopsie" on the part of GT4 or was there an actual CLK-GTR with these specs?

Nearly three years later, and just over 4,500 posts, and over a 100 threads(?), despite my general feeling that internet forums are generally a waste of time full of people who know very little, but pretend to know so much, and who regularly spread misinformation and who use personal attacks instead of facts to back them up... thankfully GTP, Jordan, Duke, DerAlta, the Mods, and the vast majority of GTP participants continue to prove me wrong. 👍
