So, who's got all 60 Golds in their licence tests yet?

I did all mine with a DFGT. IB-3 is a pain in the ass but my tip is to get into 3rd gear quickly and turn early than you expect while feeding some throttle as you go in between the cones then let off as soon as you're through. My speed through the cones was between 74-80mph. It's really mostly throttle balancing.

I finally got it today after about 20 minutes. Ending up using 1 hand to turn, stick to shift and turned the sound off. LOL. Your 74 mph tip saved my life. Once I figured out that i didn't have to accelerate any longer, it was a breeze.

IA-10 is the worst race ever, much more than IC-10. I swear I cannot count how many times I've gotten DQ'd for being on the AI's line and them bumping into you forcing me into disqualification.

I recently gold all my license with DS3....try to change your button settings like NFS SHIFT:

R2= acceleration
L2=deceleration
R1=Shift Up (if you're using manual)
L1=Shift down

Since these 2 buttons are at the back of the controller, you can control the amount of throttle for your acceleration and the force you apply during braking, unlike the conventional 'X' and 'square' button.

And which test you're trying to gold? I do admit 40% of the test are frustatingly hard to get gold

Need For Speed isn't really a model to use for car control since it's as "Arcade" as it gets (hell the most recent NFS doesn't even have a Manual Transmission).
"conventional" controls for race sims are to use the right analogue stick for Brake/Gas as it provides at least 10x more precision than the mushy shoulder buttons. If you get used to turning on one stick and modulating power with the right one you'll realize the reason GT has been using that scheme as the standard model since the Dual-Shock controller was introduced shortly after GT1 dropped on the PSX.

Glad I could help!

I was trying all sorts of different throttle tehniques as well. In the end I just did it flat out in 3rd, able to change to 4th just after the pinultimate cone. (DFGT)

Yeah, I've done the same thing in a real car and I'd just applied it in the game. It's harder in the game because it's a little bit harder to feel the body roll of the car (but don't get me wrong, the feeling of the game is amazing!)

Finally golded IA-10! The freaking collisions and AI still suck balls though. I swear, I got spun out and DQ'd so many times it just pissed me off.

Whatever... On to the S license then after I level up to 15.

I finished all golds today's , non where really that challenging just a case of persevering, and correcting different lines.

I did all 6O golds in just over 6 hours felt like years, when the time comes around and you get stuck on one for 3O mins its a pain...

But i cant help noticeing that the special events and licences are harder then the actual racing :| but its all good fun still getting the golds :P

I wish to god I had all 60 golds in ONLY 6 hours. I have like 6-10 hours and I am only have the first 37 golds so far.

I am spending 10-30 minutes per race it seems. 60 races. Means you would have to average 6 minutes per gold medal to get them all in 6 hours. AMAZING.

It could be possible, some of them are pretty simple 30 second ones...

I'm nowhere near; golds in about 10, and the other 25 are silver. Still a way to go.

Oh and 1 bronze in IC-10 I think, the race with the old Ferrari at madrid.

Yeah the 512BB race was a chore, haven't got around to win that yet. And weirdly I have trouble with gold in all the braking test....:indiff:

I had a lot of fun in the IB-10 and IA-10 though. Good car and track and was fun to push like hell on those...

Just have IC-1 left to gold but getting the breaking point right is killing me best time is still .037 outside of gold.:banghead:

It feels like the special and IC licences were swapped as I have already spent more time on the IC licence than on both the IA and S licences combined. Also using DS3 controller.

How are the S license test? That's the only license that I still have to gold. The rest are golden.

Just have to level up to 15 to start on S.

If you've come this far, S licenses are super easy.

Done with a Logitech Driving Force Wireless, IB-3 was hardest, closely followed by IC-10.

Add me to the list please :D

Ditto! I guess it's a chance to finish the amateur races 👍

S licenses were my first "all gold". Not exactly easy, but...

Still working on the rest. 44 Gold now I think, game/ps3 crashed... Hope my save is intact :s

Edit:
Scary moment, my DS2 stopped being recognized in game. Felt as it was not responding. All good now :)

Oh and IC-10 is quite a challenge. More than S4.

So far, so good. Got golds for B and A and now moving through IC.

A8 - Schumacher S was a pain to go through. I either messed up the entry or let off a bit too much.

IC1 - I knew where the perfect braking spot was but I kept missing it by about .05 to .1 seconds.

IC3 - I thought I was never going to get this one. I was off by almost a second at the start. However, it got better when I realized that I was turning the wheel way too slow. The Z is willing to slide a bit but still, I barely got this one.

IC10 - Good grief! I got up to 2nd but that's it! This one is going to take a while!

Is that right...?

Well, hopefully it is then.

Indeed it is. At least for me. The only one I had to repeat three times was the one that involved me driving the classic Ferrari racecar (R246 if I remember correctly). But other than that the other events were simple.

Finally got IC-10 gold! Even beat it again a couple of times for good measure. :)

Here's a few tips that I've picked up. Note that I was using a wheel with no assists. I also managed to beat this with an analog once.

- With the wheel, the Ferrari can be made to slide around a bit with some control which can help in the tighter corners. Analog, it's feasible but it requires gentle steering and throttle inputs. Otherwise, you'll bin it into the wall like I did a few times. :ouch:
- Entering the first turn requires a lot of bravery. I usually don't start braking until I'm beside the Countach. For both wheel and analog, I found that modulating the brake kept the car relatively stable enough to get around the 11th and 10th place car. Best case is to get around 9th although gently hitting him on the side can be done without a DQ.
- If you're not at the least in the process of passing the Muira (3rd place) by the third corner, restart. You want to be far enough ahead that blocking the Muira isn't a concern until halfway down the straight.
- You don't have to necessarily be drafting 2nd by start-finish but I would say a lap time higher than a 1:24 lap time is trouble.
- On the 2nd lap, you must be passing 2nd before the 3rd corner.
- If you can draft 1st for much of the long straight, it's possible to pass it at the end of the straight if you're good enough to brake late and turn the car enough to avoid hitting it.
- In the last two corners, going after 1st on the inside and nudging it a bit will most likely get you gold. :sly:

I'm hoping to get all golds before Christmas. 👍

Updated,

looks like I ought to start posting my times on gold junkies.
