Is it just me or did anybody else find the Super Licence much easier than all the International ones? Albeit I haven't gone back to try golding all of the I license's but I managed gold on first completion of about 7 of the tests on Super. Maybe my driving style suits these tests more than the others. Didn't think all that much of the reward for golding Super Licence either.....👎

It looks like that PureGT_Hawkwind has entered him times incorrectly. Has entered A as B and B as A, I will adjust soon.

Wow... Man... imageshack has a "THUMBNAIL FOR FORUMS" option.

Please edit and post that code, not the whole thing 👍

Congratz, and wellcome to GTP

I can't find the thumbnail option, maybe I have missed the button

i have re-sized the pic instead, thanks for ur advice man:tup:

Hey guys, this is my first time taking GT seriously. I had GT1 when I was a kid and never took it seriously. Anyway I have 55 gold licenses and 5 sliver. I need some help with the last few.

1: The double hairpin in the Nissan - WTF do you do. I got close to gold but seem to lose it entering the first hairpin. Whats the trick?

2: The "indianapolis section" of circuit de la sarthe - again close to gold but no dice

3: FR cone on Top Gear

4: Overtaking in the Ferrari on the Rome circuit

5: Overtaking in Suzuka in the S license in the A. Romeo.

Ive watched videos but still cant get those last few. Im using a DS3 with no aides other than ABS1. Any tips would be great!

I hope to join this club soon!

Don't have anything special to tell you for the first 3, especially if you've already watched videos with commentary online. Question #4 is IC-10, right? Um, do it a zillion times. I found that to be by far the hardest test. There are 2 or 3 cars that split from the pack and get away in the front. If you aren't catching the draft of the last car in that front pack (I think it's a Countach, but can't remember if he's in 2nd place or 3rd) when you get onto the straightaway at the end of lap 1/start of lap 2, you might as well restart. With the slipstream, and how much extra they brake for the first turn, you should be able to catch and pass him pretty early on that 2nd lap. Your next milestone should be drafting the 1st place car on the next long straight. Even if you're far back in his draft, he loses a lot of speed on that little chicane/right turn at the end of that straight. If you take that cleanly, like the license test it was in earlier, you should be right on the 1st place car and have plenty of time to figure out a clean pass in that last series of turns.

As for the Alfa, I sort of cheated on this one. I'm using a DFGT wheel, which lets you adjust driving aids during the race. There was some driving aid, skid recovery or active steering or TCS can't remember which, but it was locked "on" in the menu, and it was KILLING my speed. So once the race started, I used the wheel to turn it off, got gold on the first try after that ;)

Thanks dude! Just got the alpha one, the double hairpin one, and the circuit de la sarthe. Just IC10 and the FR cones!

Got em all! For IC10 ABS @ 1 and set the brake bias at 6/2. The damn ferrari drives like a hovercraft

Im pretty happy. This is the first GT I have taken seriously and I nailed em! I was never seriously into racing games as a child but I am now as a young adult. First time using manual trans too. All done on a DS3

Congrats!

I finished 59 tests with gold, I mis the toyota slalom, thats very hard for me. I play with the pad.

The trick to the slaloms is getting into a rhythm, and take note of what your average speed is going through. Also, as you come around the 3rd to last cone, push your speed a little more, cause once you angle the car around the 2nd to last cone, you can gun it and it doesn't matter how far out you drift as you pass the last cone and that final dash across the finish is long enough where a few mph can make a huge difference

Indeed. You must "max out" the grip a few gates before the end, get it under control and slightly slower there, then push it again in final gates as it's where you gain precious speed to the last one and the final stretch, and both must be taken/considered as a single straight. You have to be able to go on full power from the penultimate gate at least.

I was barely maxing 3rd and shifting into 4th at the end of the test and failing, then did that and was shifting 4th at the last gate entry and gaining speed all the way till the end.

How much does the licences effect your overall completion percentage? This thread has really driven me to try and get as many golds as possible and I have improved about 30 bronzes in the past through days to now stand at 15 golds, 43 silvers and 2 bronzes. I'll get rid of all the bronzes and then start to work on the silvers. However over the last few days noticed that my completion status of 59% hasn't moved

Will have a quick scan through this thread in a bit more detail but is there a general consensus as to the 2 or 3 most difficult licences to complete at gold?

Completing the licenses gives progression in terms of %

I believe going silver and gold does not add to it. We just do it because... :sly:

Skim through the thread to see where the troubles lay, and for tips. For me hardest were, hardest first:

Megane @ Nurb
207 @ Tsukuba
Both slaloms, especially FT86
370z @ Indy
S10

I have at least all Silvers, working on getting all Golds. I get too frustrated on some of the tests where it seems like all you have to do is slightly graze a certain car and you get disqualified. I have all Golds in the previous GT games.

It probably doesn't help that I'm using a controller ...

A wheel helps if you know to (are used to) use it.

I did all previous with a controller. I refused to even try it in GT5 to try and make the most of it. Experience wise, is way more rewarding.

But, the controller has some advantages. You can't "turn the wheel" too much and light up the front tires for one.

I used it for the 1st time when I took the PS3 to my inlaws over xmass, and it was very different. It helped in some cases, in others I couldn't drive some cars at all.
