socom 3 vs battlefield 2

I want a current era fps. The only two that have caught my eye are these two. I need some help deciding which to buy. Or if there is another one that is a sleeper, tell me
 
Technically Socom 3 can be an FPS. I have socom 3 and it is amazing, but I haven't played BF2 yet, I suggest you rent them both and make the decision for yourself.
 
MGS3 or Resi 4 are good choices racer. But wait for MGS3 Substance to come out if you can wait mate.

Will you be playing online??
Buy Battlefied 2: Modern Combat if your looking for a combat shooter based game. My girlfriend and I both bought it and highly highly recommend it. We play it for xbox but its an incredible game especially online. I played Socom 3 and every other similar game out there and I recommend BF2 over all of them. You wont regret it. 👍 👍
If you are just looking for a shooter game then we can go from there.

I will be playing online, so I'll buy the game and adapter in one swoop. Does bf2 support the headset?

Yes it supports the headset. The communication is almost a must in this game to stay alive online. When you hook up with a good team this truly is the best war fighting game out there that I have ever played. Play the Conquest mode its friggin awesome taking over flags and trying to hold onto your own at the same time!! I would think the game is similar to the xbox version online.
If someone does an air strike and your in that base you will be screwed so its nice when there is communication. Otherwise your own team mates will kill you by accident.
 
I played BF2 a little at my friends house yesterday, and it was great, except for the laggy parts, due to my friend's laggy internet connection. Check out Call of Duty 2. I played the demo, and it's great too.
 
Can you fly helicopters online like in BF2:MC, drive tanks, buggies, boats....., call in air strikes, mortar strikes, engineers that fix vehicles, soldiers that heal other soldiers???? :sly:
If your answer is yes then I might be interrested. Otherwise its going to take one hell of a game to even compare to Battlefield 2 modern combat.
 
Wow, I started playing BF2 Modern Combat yesterday and this game really surprised me! Unlike Socom games the career mode is awesome, I'm having so much fun doing those missions.

I have yet to play it online, but judging by the single player mode it must be great.

You will love the online. Like you said the single player is good but online is the ultimate! 👍

Yeah thats too bad. My girlfriend and I spent most of the weekend online in this game again. Conquest mode is our favorite. I dont know how fun it is on the pS2 but I would imagine its still quite fun. Its just too bad its on EA servers. They always have problems but thats just life.

I think it is the best FPS.... ONLINE. I have never found a more addictive FPS online game at all on any console. 👍
 
Well, yes. Best online FPS. It's single player is only good for practicing before you go online so you don't embarass yourself.
 
I cant even imagine how incredible it will be for the 360. Did you see the 360 screen shots. WOW!! :eek:
Hopefuly they just fix the servers.
 
I think the offline mode is pretty good too. Usually when I game has online feature the first thing I do is try it out, but I'm glad I didn't do it this time because there was a lot of stuff to know about the game before.
 
Nah, I don't think BF2 for the consoles will be good. I think it's a PC only type of game, if you get what I mean.
 
Erm... this is the PS2 forum, and we're talking about the console's version. I play it on the PS2 and CAMAROBOY plays it on the Xbox.
 
No I know it is made for the consoles but trust me if you played the PC version for awhile on a high-powered PC with all the graphic settings on high. You'd like the PC version better, I think.
 
Well it depends, I have played both. I think that Battle field have some perks but when it comes to the sniping...I like socom 3 because of the customization and the way you get to feel when you have a different gun like the XMB
