This may seem abit silly to some, but it actually caused me to laugh pretty hard. And we all know that is not real easy while on the grind...

Indianapolis:

Get on any straight about 100 yds in front of a pack of AIs. (3 or so)
Pull the E-brake just long enough to throw up smoke, while not spinning you out. Look back and watch the AI go dumbass trying to negotiate the smoke and each other. Twice now one of them just cuts hard left (from the wall) and takes out all three. Stupid funny.:)

Are you sure they're just not braking to avoid you? I didn't know they reacted to smoke. I mean, Bob doesn't even need headlights at night.

I agree with Corrigan, AI don't even lose any laptime driving at night vs day, and Bob goes all-out in a FGT with no lights.

Buuuuuuuuuuuut, I must give this a try :)

When I'm grinding in a fast car and have a few lap lead, I tend to do everything I can to upset the AI's. Drive the wrong way on the track towards them, run them into the gravel traps and Pits. Or just Park in front of the pit entrance or exit causes major pileups and a few laughs.

It certainly relieves the stress of having to grind.

I've tried numerous times now, and can't seem to get the same effect. It's clear the AI does not respond to smoke in any way. As was said above, they had to have been braking to avoid me.

Grinding sucks, especially Indy 500.
Which is why I push hard to get it over and done with as soon as possible.
No messing about, you'll just delay the inevitable.

In the endurance races, if I have a driver that's bumped me, or run me off, I'll make sure I get him back every time I see him again. One really fun one is on the front straight at Grand Valley, get on the left side of the AI, and nudge them over to the tires at the end of the pit wall. Those tires don't move, and stick out a little bit. The AI will stop instantly after hitting them, and spin into the racing line. If there's traffic behind, it can get pretty messy, lol.

Grinding has become a problem in US high schools throughout the country...Oh you mean grinding in GT5...

Yeah grinding is the best part of GT5.:)

Indy is fun in A-Spec in my opinion, since the track is so easy.
The problem I have in B-Spec is that it seems my drivers can not win unless I keep pressing 'increse pace'.
Maybe they would make it without me, but I have not tested.

The Indy 500 in GT5 is easy that's why it isn't fun.

If it was Nascars only, then it would be a very interesting race.

Even with the X1 that speeds the process up, it is still very boring.
Also, just because it's easy doesn't make it fun, I'd rather redo the Nurburgring 4 hour but I know that XP/min isn't as good there...

How long does it take the X1 to do Indy 500?

Yes I did it in the FGT too. It took 2 hours 10 for me, I made an extra pitstop by accident also so I might have been able to do it quicker.

But now I have an X1 so I might think about doing it or I might do the dream car championship instead because it's less boring. Also, the money reward at Indy 500 is terrible.

i did the indy 500 in an X1 (twice) and both times it took just under 2 hours. with the occasional crash or low petrol

:dopey: You guys are cracking me up:dopey:, as soon as I get a couple of more Indy races in, I am going to try it, I love messing with the AI drivers too.

My favorite AI hobbies (when I have big leads):
-Shoving them into the pits
-Punting them off the track in the worst places
-Spinning them and causing a pile-up
-Getting in front of them, slamming on the brakes, and trying to get them to come to a complete stop
-Getting the guy in second to last place

lol everyone hates AI. wen i ran out of fuel in indy 500 (u cruise at 50 mph) i got infront of the AI coming round at full throttle to get a bit of boost and ram me bac to the pits. sadly it didnt work and they either missed me or spun me and later they were punished for it.:sly:
