These were taken in the Montegi testing/meeting, an event similar to the one that took place in Milbrook a few months ago

I REALLY hope its not. GT is for RACING, not stupid showy stuff. I just hope that GT wotn turn into every ricer's dream: a drift game!!!
now, there are many cars in there that have been in the game before. I hope they put new ones... this is pretty lame. I would love to see some REALLY new cars in the game, not the same recycled japanese stuff from each itteration.

Cano

the fairlady Z brings some hope.

drifting isnt rice
and some magazine article claims PD said they will have some sort of drifting comps in it

Ok first off Drifting is FAR from ricey, you've got to be kidding me if you think it's ricey, what's so ricey about it? The Aerodynamical aspects of it? The Stickers all over the car? Last time I checked there were aerodynamical aspects and stickers over cars in almost every branch of racing there is. Now as far as "recycled japanese stuff" Well of course there's going to be alot of japanese cars, seeing as how japanese cars are a dominating force world wide, no i'm not saying they're the best, but they are by far the most widely distributed. Not only that, but you've obviously not seen alot of the Testing screen shots. Now since when was a Caterham 7 from japan, or DB7's, or Z06's, or Prowlers? Some pretty harsh words for a non thought response

and its made in japan of course there is going to be alot of Japanese cars.

I mean, considering the japanese cars in GT2-GT3 are pretty dominating anyway, why fix something that isn't broken, i mean do you WANT them to get rid of the ZZII or something? I sure as hell don't.

I can definitely relate to Cano on that one... it's not that we want to get rid of the ZZII or the ultra-cool Skylines, but I guess we can do without so many of them... what are we supposed to do with the Daihatsus? Race them against each other, and all the other 65hp-tuned-up-from-32hp cars... if it would mean sacrificing them to get newer better cars, maybe not as many Japanese, but more Europeans. Anyway, I know it's just wishful thinking, GT4 will be 80% Japanese cars, but I have no doubt it'll be a great game, just like the ones before it.

OMG!!! that orange machine is a S15 Silvia there is a video on the net of this car it is utter madness in a drift competition with a R34 Skyline go and get it now!!!

I am absolutely sick of japanese cars taking 85% of GT car stack, it is stupid. they should make a game only for japanese cars and that is all. leave the Gt game alone. I have said that and will say that in the future if, as anyone posted here, GT4 is 80% Japanese cars. it will be the same **** as in GT3. I really dont care about having two versions of the lancer or the imprezza that you (and the game) can only distiguish because one is a csl and the other one is a gts and the only other difference is that one has 2 more hp than the other and the other has some other color that isnt on the first car's palette. yeah, I know japanese cars dominate, but they cant take that into a game that is suposed to get a hand on the whole world. I dont have anything against Japanese cars as long as they arent that over-programmed on the game and that I can take at least 50-50% distribution of Japanese and rest-of-the-world cars in the game. as for the driftin thing being rice... well... Im not bothered with the drifting itself, but about all the people who thinks that drifting is supercool and "hell yea i cant weit to drift dat mAd 7y7e car wehn GT fur komes" and stuff. drifting is nothing, and I really hope GT4 DOESNT have a drifting mode. its a racing game, not an "exhibition"game.

Cano

a good example of such a person can be found on the poster above me ^-^ that will give you a good idea of what Im talkin about...

Lol. Well you have to remember, when they make a game, they're trying to appeal to the masses, they're trying to make as much money as possible, and since you know aswell as everyone else in this forum does, Drifting is a very popular thing now, so why shouldn't they capitalize on it? And since when is GT4 a real RACING Simulator? it's not, it's a Real DRIVING Simulator, which encompasses every type/aspect of driving, if you think drifting isn't driving, then you're on some strong stuff.
As for that immature little remark on my character, i'll let it slide.

Do you expect Polyphony to develop a Japanese game with a greater percentage of non-japanese games than japanese cars? I'm sure if it were programmed and developed in Mexico, there would be some nice Mexican cars, but it isn't developed in Mexico.

Gran Turismo is a DRIVING SIMULATOR.Drifting is part of driving. Drifting is something, no matter how much you hate or I hate it.

EDIT: Driftster beat me to the Driving Simulator thing, but I made mine bigger.

aah, you are here. good! someone to talk with :D
that point of yours is good, tough. the mass thing is a really focus point on making a game, but still, I HOPE (note that im saying HOPE) that it wont have a drift race. I remember the drift mode of GT3... it was entertaining, but I hope it will stay at that. yeah, drifting is a part of driving, but lets be true, you and I know that RACING is the real deal in GT. drifting is entertaining but even if there are drift cars in the game, they will have to be set up like a racing machine to win races... except if there are drifting events on GT4, wich I hope wont happen :D
I just wouldnt want that GT4 wasnt gran turismo, but gran dorifto. it would suck, and it wouldnt be a gran turismo game.

Cano

seeing your nick I know you wont aprove. and that remark wasnt for you. dont above means up? :odd: if not, sorry, but tried to say up me ^-^ :banghead:

oh, and mexico doesnt have cars o.O look, I know that it is a japan-developed game, but that really justifies it????

the drift mode in GT3 wasnt even drifting it was ****
no one in who drifts in GT3 uses drift mode

haha, precisely. anyway, if it justifies it, shouldnt it be better to have just japanese cars in the game?? why spoent that |5% leftover in cars that wont make any difference in the game and will overall suck? if it justifies it, Id better put on more japanese cars, better ones, quit Daihatsus :P and go with an IMPRESSIVE, all-japanese car game. that would be REALLY cool.

Cano

the drift mode in GT3 wasnt meant to be a exhibition just a different type of (arcade) driving mode
PD said in a magazine interview that drifting in GT4 was to be the most realistic ever and hints about a type of drift comp

this time if drifting is in GT4 i think it will be done properly
