So far I am level 12
What is the deal with Damage?
When is it unlocked for internal parts?
Do doing Practice runs result in destroying car's rigidity? Engine?
Only A Spec Races destroy Cars rigidity and Engine?

Someone please clear this up with very clear answers.

Also state what level are you when you notice the internal damage.

I'm level 15 and have not encountered any mechanical damage. That said, I'm cautious with my babies lol. To my knowledge, practice mode does not damage your car's rigidity or engine. I don't do much B-spec so I don't know.

One of the main things being talked about right now is the Practice mode. If your car is damaged you will have to pay to fix it. That is what has been said.

I had my 5 year old cousins completely destroy one of my cars. All you have to do is either restart the race or exit, and your car is fine. I've gotten multiple scuff marks on my Gallardo and after the race is over, they're gone.

Kaz mentioned damage is coming soon. Means Patch or once a person levels up? They should clear DAMAGE up in a manual.

I would love to hear from lvl 20+ guys.

I hope they don't neglect to put in an option to turn damage off. A little bit of me dies inside every time one of my cars gets a scratch.

The scuff marks may be gone, but go and check if your car needs body rigidity restoring. I bet it does even if you restart/exit after a bang.

I tested it. Any car use in GT mode results in a reduction in rigidity. Take a (cheap) prize car that hasn't been driven. Check it needs no rigidity restoration in GT Auto. Then go into practise and ram it into every wall you can find.

Then go back to GT auto & look at the rigidity restoration bill...see?

If you want to look at wrecked cars, do it in arcade mode :)

But the same is true if you drive 1.0 miles and don't wreck at all. As soon as you use the car it resets to the default bill value for the car. I don't think this is a good baseline to go around to show damage as you are not sure if its actually repairing 'damage' or the miles that you just drove on the car.

I'm lv 19 and i've seen no mechanical damage as of yet, apart from the loss of rigidity... NO I'M NOT PAYING 1,000,000 CREDITS TO FIX MY 430 SCUD.
I have managed to roll a car however, on the final turn of trial mountain, car just resets to the track after a couple of seconds.
As far as visual damage goes, I've had no parts falling off yet, just lots of crumpled bumpers.

That's a pretty retarded system right there.

The rigidity bills are baffling. Is it actually any use to fix chassis rigidity, or is that just money out the window?

They should help the car body to be stronger. I be the difference in lap times will split seconds. So far my most driven car is the Civic, and I think most money to repair rigidity was 22k or 32k.

According to a Norwegian website, Kaz mentioned damage enhancements coming via update on December 6th (approx).

Hmm thanks for the info..

Guys you know what to do.

Try to do as much of A spec as possible before damage is on and we wont be to do races because our cars will be totaled!

I tested with my veyron.
Now I have 500 000 damage costs (rigidity)
Although I don't notice the car riding any different?

I am level 17 and have not seen any visible damage yet... even a friend of mine who is level 12 has visible damage, do I have to unlock it with the international licenses? I have only done national so far

Even dirt wont stick to cars. They do stick when you race or do rally, My civic got very dirty when I was doing a rally race, but when I went to see the car in different race, it looks clean again.

Comon PD, hurry up with Damage update.

Sorry for bumping my thread with a double post, but anything new on Damage?

Is it really LVL 30-40 thing or Kaz needs to do a patch?

I heard you get damage at level 20 but I can't confirm. This game should really tell you up front what can be unlocked with different levels. A simple list of unlock achievements would have cleared up a lot of confusion.

As it is people think those features are not in the game and don't realize that they are unlocked as you progress.

Exacly!

Kaz tweeted to a guy that Damage is coming soon. That guy posted he was LVL 17 or 14 and did not see damage. So what does Kaz mean? That later levels unlock it? Or maybe they are working on a patch? Kaz really needs to put some INFO in the game to let people know about that stuff.

In recent review of GameSpot, they mention that Damage is coming in later leveles, that some players may finish the game before getting to it. I think 40 is max level, 30-40 should be it? Common. It should be around LVL 10 !

I have read that link, also that video is taken from a low level player, he mention you can do that from begening but have to do lots and lots of hits. Also in the video there is no MECHANICAL damage. Its a misleading video by telling people its at LVL 40. I did the same today for a trophy today with WRX car but took me lots and lots of hits. And by the the car seem to slow down a bit, and crooked steering.

The original poster of that video (he's also on this forum with a similar nickname as on youtube) was at level 6. Another proof that lvl40 damage is fake? I just had the same results in arcade mode and I'm at level 17-18, you should try it. I've also earned a trophy because I lost a door.

The original video posted on Nov 22nd: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XINuNcmXfLI
