Ah, yeah, those cars don't come with stick. 👍

Yes that is what i was referring too. But in the GTR race, i still hit the clutch and used the H-shifter every time i changed gears and at the end when i raped them all, i laughed...and said that is how the car SHOULD have been driven. (once again it's my own personal opinion). I don't argue the DSG is fast and efficient, just not as fun to me. :sly:

I use gated shifter in any car that allows it, why? Well because if i had it in real life, I would opt for the stick. I like to remain busy while driving, it's an experience not a chore. Soo many automatic cars around these days, it's absurd no reason to shift, the car does it for you. What's with sport shifting? Might as well have the car on autopilot, I am Robot style.

Now if Kaz would allow power shifting again, add trans damage I would be overjoyed. When you downshift imporperly, you upset your car terribly. Misshifts just toss you into neutral. Well IRL, if you downshift improperly you can upset the car, cause the drive wheels to lock temporarily and pretty much send your engine temp skyrocketing, cooking a lot of things under the hood. Overdo it and you will blow the engine, end of race. Lets hope they add that to GT5, at least in a hardcore mode. For the GT Enthusiast in us all.

Now they should update the G25, FF for all the pedals and shifter, for when you mis-shift that stick should shudder, the clutch should have algorithms that allow game designers to choose point of clutch bite(that would be sweet). Have H gate templates, 5 and 6 gear configs and make the steering unit heavier and allow the pedals to be detached from their base, even better for play seats owners. Oh and the clutch should have a lot more travel too. I digress...I'd pay $500 for something like that...

+1 i also ordered that porsche 911 wheel cant wait to compare it to the G25. it looks pretty good from the videos ive seen. they also have pedals you can buy which have force feedback dealing with the brake.

Japanese Evo X GSR (the one that is in GT5P) is available with a 5 speed manual or the DSG/SST and in US will only be available with the manual. In UK only the less powerfull versions have the SST option.

Not to get too off topic but a modulated CLUTCH would be AWESOME. Like being able to slip the clutch etc, AND put it back where you could power-shift UP gears like you would in drifting, going from 2nd to 3rd etc. when it allows. I HATE that you can't change gears with excessive wheel spin. Let us modulate the CLUTCH instead of it being an On/Off switch. đź’ˇ

I would like if they brought back the realistic gear change and started making the clutch more realistic, like vr6 said, but also with realistic results when you kick the clutch. I don't know about damage for misshifts though, as it is more bad luck in my experience if you damage your engine or gearbox here, not a definite.

I use H shifter, clutch, ABS set to 0 with 7-4 brake bias and pretty much only drive RWD cars on every race off and online.
I don't think it makes me any faster but it's definitely more fun 👍

Consequently I rarely drive any paddle shift or semi automatic cars in the game as they are just not that fun...

I would like to Know who with a G25 uses the wheel as if they where driving the real car? Example when driving an Integra Type R the racer uses the clutch and H shifter, or when driving the GTR 07 the racer uses the paddle shifter. When I drive any car I try to drive it as its meant to be driven.

I take the same approach you do when it comes to choosing the shifter style. For the R35 GTR, EVO X, Golf GTI, and Formula 1 car I use the paddle shifters. For the Amuse S2000, the sequential shifter. For just about everything else, the H-pattern shifter. The style gearbox that is on the real car determines the shifter I use in the game.
