Something that might challenge gt4

Honestly, I don't see what the difference here is. Just because the stupid canyon isn't done in 3D with polys doesn't mean it's going to look bad! I'm sure it will look just as 3D as if it were 3D. Polyphony is simply very clever for having found a way to make a picture appear 3D in game! Instead of running down the game all the time and talking about what the PS2 can't do, why don't we ever talk about what it can do?!?! The game is going to look flat out gorgeous! Wtf difference does it make how they accomplish that?

As far as GT4's graphics go they are the best on the PS2, and it's an amazing achievment from PD to get them that good,I however have played PGR2 and the cars are very very accurate, they have higher levels of detail and the scenery again has more detail, although racing round 100 + courses all lined with building will look repetative after a while IMO, both games look really good but PGR2 edges past GT4 in that department but IMO GT4 will own PGR2 in every other way.

I agree with some of the things you say liveforspeed

In terms of quality of game and handling, i think pgr2 will match gt4 easily (in different ways), but gt4 will edge past it for these 2 reasons.

500+ cars compared to pgr2 100+
customisable cars

But pgr does have a ferrari enzo...drool

Both pgr2 and gt4 (i dont even need to play) are and will be brilliant. Anyone who says either game is crap, is in a dreamworld. Both games are the pinicle of racing games.

hmm looks pretty good to me, were you playing grand prix on your atari 2600 again, and got, well a little confused, after all your sony wega does make all your games hi res and AMAZING.

And yes I love the pgr series, I wont have a single word said against em, but I also love the GT series. I'm allowed to love gt4 and pgr2 in equal amounts, spread the love

I'm sry but pgr2 looks like drawing, when I first saw it I thought it was cel-shaded no lie but that was at first glance. I know pgr2 has more graphics than gt4 like bump mapping which is cool but which looks real and can be compared to reality; gt4. The pgr2 car models need work, sry but they do. No realism in the models. Pgr2's enviroments look ok to me, no amazing, they look dull and empty and have no realism like gt4's enviroments. Youy can actually compare gt4 to reality, can say the same for any other game.

Ok, back on topic. GT4 looks freaken realistic and I doubt there will be a racer that can compare to it realism until the nex gen consoles come out.
