I am doing a school project. And I need some help. I need to find TEN songs that go along or remind you of events or the tone of them in Tom Clancy's novel The Hunt for Red October, where a nuclear submarine goes against orders as the officers attempt to flee Russia, Russia sends all her NAVY out to get the sub, and the US takes this as a threat and defends the East coast from any pos. Basically songs that are really in your face (like heavy metal), songs that induce fear, etc. I can't really find anything, could you guys help me out. I'm just looking for some suggestions, that's all.
 
Well, I do have anti-war songs, however I don't think they would suffice.

Nevertheless, there's Survivor Guilt by Rise Against, White Flag Warrior by Flobots, and Hero of War by Rise Against.

Yes. It can show the frustration of the Russians, who where not looking to start a war, but with their frenzied searching made it look like they did want to start a war, as they were getting close to the US East Coast.

A bit heavy-handed for this purpose, but you do know "Russians" by Sting is about the Cold War?

Okay, seriously, would Edwin Starr's classic "War" be useable? Probably the ultimate anti-war song.
 
Damn, the title had me hopeful, and I was about to say Paschendale by Iron Maiden, because it is obviously a war song, oh well, I'll try find something that fits the bill.

I'd go with Megadeth, something like Holy Wars, or Hangar 18.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate your help. You see, when I listen to music, I hear it and get it stuck in my head, but rarely can I associate a song with a feeling (like being happy), or think of a situation where a certain song would compliment.
