It likely has zero consequence for GT7. It may have a consequence for GT8, most likely - unless something dramatic changes - the absence of the car/brand.Does this mean I can finally delete it from my garage?

Try again, but this time without the petulance.you've been yapping about
The "other side" is published in a peer reviewed journal, they are scrutinised.@eran0004: Try scrutinising the other side the same way. Till then I 'll be ignoring you.
I suppose, but they also have to account for how much other EV brands are able to establish themselves due to lack of competition. I could be that by the time Honda et al re-enters the US EV market both Rivian and Lucid have three cars on offer, one of each with a more affordable offering. Hyundai and GM could absolutely dominate in multiple segments."The shareholders will grumble if we keep putting money into this instead of in their pockets, and we can't risk upsetting them!"
They currently don't even perform well in F1 and MotoGP, if it matters, and even almost jumped ship off IndyCar (only not to as that would have killed the series) and went over 3 cars in 6 seasons in Super GT.I think this could be a sign that Honda is in dire times brand-wise.
I think Acura's use of hybrid depends on the success of the Prelude philosophy. The base level of quality for all cars has gone up so high that all brands like Acura in that middle range are struggling for identity. As of 2026, Acura doesn't offer a single car with an electric powerplant (EV or hybrid).
You would think shoving the hybrid drivetrain from the Civic hybrid into the Integra or ADX would be a no-brainer, so there's probably some executive somewhere intentionally trying to steer the company into complete irrelevancy like Infiniti![]()
This is now official.Cross-posting from the IMSA thread - looks like this failure may as well lead to the IMSA program being killed after this season.

I think this is also related to the long-questioned decision to enter Acura in IMSA, effectively preventing the car from competing at Le Mans. Obviously IMSA is much more cost-effective than WEC, but Honda is a global automaker and outside of Japan and the US has virtually zero automotive racing presence.
And one of their joint venture plants in China is also shutting downOn top of that, Honda has announced their withdrawal from the Korean market.
Not a good time to be a Honda executive![]()
Well then, make use of those Type R badge moulds and do an Accord Type R. 2L/360hp, Championship White, Championship White wheels, nice low-key body kit, drop a heap of weight to 1400kg.
Completely different market. But Hyundai/Kia, Tesla, and GM offer products in a similar market and they're slowly getting more popular, especially the Hyundai products. I can only imagine that Honda took so long to develop their cars that they're simply not competitive anymore or something, idk.Seeing the EV shake up is weird…Lucid just opened across the street from my apartment and a lot people are buying them

Hell yes to both of these. Regardless, I guarantee an Accord Type R would sell like hotcakes in the US.I feel you are hitting on something that should become the de facto norm going forward; for those who really aren't bothered, EVs make perfect sense (so long as you can home charge) so any remaining petrol cars absolutely should be special, because at this point, there's no real reason for middle of the road examples to exist.
Honda has absolutely no idea what they're doing with Acura. The possibility of the MDX being axed is an even worse sign considering that is Acura’s flagship and would leave a massive gap in its lineup should it go.
At least it could get Honda some buzz. BTCC, some of the USA racing series could do with an Accord race car again. Honda could do with some nostalgia to remind people they can still build high performance car across the board. As an aside, let's be real, but no one would buy an Accord Type-R except for uspartly because fast, "big" sedans like that don't sell for cheap (like coupes) and that dealerships would mark them up to kingdom come
