You should contact Brazilian game sites like Kotaku BR, Outerspace, Finalboss, Uol Jogos and tell them this. Send them the pics and i'm sure it this appeared on all major gaming websites, Sony Brazil would have to comment on this. If they still don't, will show how they dont care. Also, post this on Brazilian game message boards.

As for the quality itself, i know i can answer some questions. Companies that produces / presses the discs here in Brazil have a tendency of using low quality materials. Being CD, DVD, Blu-ray or gaming discs, the blurry and terrible disc printing is a way to lower producing costs by using low quality paint.

Here's an article with some pics comparing DVDs and Blu-rays produced in Brazil and in other countries. Article is in portuguese, but just check the pictures.

Terrible printing quality on Avatar BD looks just like that on the GT5 disc

As for the case being a regular blu-ray case instead of a PS3 branded one, again, it's Sony lowering their costs by not producing a different case. Since no one complained so far, they keep doing.

That why i import all my games. Or buy imported used ones. If you want a quality product around here, you better get an import. Otherwise you'll pay more for less.

As for a brazilian copy being locked out of DLC, of course there´s a possibility. We don´t know how they will handle DLC for GT5.

If i buy a DLC from the USA store, it could only work on the NTSC version of the game.

Brazil doesn´t even have a PSN store, and once it does, it will likely get limited and delayed content like it happens with some other PSN stores.

I thought it was a double risk. One, we would get the game later, and two, we could be locked out of some online components.Three, the US version is cheaper than buying in one of those official stores.

I still think it´s a smart choice to avoid this "brazilian" version.

Now I see, it's just speculation... I find highly unfeasible that DLC could be locked since GT5BR is a licensed NTSC GT5.

Well, I don't care if it's locked. If it's the case I will sell it and buy an import GT5. In the end, SONY BR PS3 games nevermore. Ditto.

I find it annoying that a lot of the folks here cannot empathize with our Brazilian brothers and sisters. It's not their fault the Brazilian govt is so protectionist, they just have to deal with it. Give 'em a break guys, they dropped $120 on a low quality copy of GT5, I think we can all imagine just how much that would suck.

Sorry Brazilbros. :(

I asked like 3 pages ago! People clearly don't want to be helped...
Again, we don't know. This cases started at God of War 3.
It has a golden or silver Blu-ray logo at the top, US game box doesn't have it.

I see this all over.
There is nothing we can't do about it, when we buy DLC's from our US games, we pay dollars + taxes and fees.

No one answered as to why the Brazilian games come in a non official PS3 Blu Ray cases??

I live in the US and bought the Collectors edition from best buy, and my case is different from all my other PS3 games in that it has blu-ray at the top of the case instead of PS3, so I don't know if this is just a random thing or what.

Thats very odd because those are just clear Blu Ray movie cases. All legit PS3 releases should have a PS3 specific Blu Ray case with the logo embossed into the plastic. Maybe the factory producing the disks there couldnt get hold of the proper cases (shortage).

Sometimes if you buy it in a shop were you take the empty game box to the counter they just put the disk in for you and these Blu Ray shelf cases are just sometimes random styles. I have to say though its the first time I have seen a PS3 game sold in a generic Blu Ray case.

Robin.

Just to update, the thing is so bad that a journal reported about this issue, the original link is here and the google translated.

To this day, NO WORD from SONY Brazil, SONY DADC or SONY Customer Support, thanks to journal Folha it show that this is not an isolated case.

Robin.

I have a number of games that are in generic blu-ray cases.

Assassins Creed II, Tiger Woods 11, Red Dead Redemption, Heavy Rain, CoD: Black Ops, God of War III, and yes, GT5.

All of the games listed were bought legitimately, from GAME stores in the UK.

There has been a change in the format of the sleeve of the games though.

All of the games I listed have PS3 on the spine, white text, black background in the same text direction as the game title. These have generic blu-ray cases.

All of my older PS3 games, they have PS3 written in black text on red background, and text turned sideways compared to game title. These games have PS3 specific cases.

Hmm I see.. There doesn't seem to be a reason why the PS3's are so expensive then.. Except when it's seen as a gambling machine.. I'm pretty certain a big company as Sony, and maybe Nintendo and MS as well should be able to exchange such taxes with some job offers..

But, to those with the US 'standard' version..
Does your disc look like the EU-disc, or like the Brazilian disc?

EU

Brazil

The disc just bothers me, I don't understand the simply fugly and low quality artwork.. Also the Blu-ray case seems weird to me, but it may be normal in Brazil..
Also why is the inside of the paper in the case white? While in the EU-version it's black..

The us standard version look like the brazil one, I also wonder how come brazil paper is plain white....here how my look like

That sucks! I´m in El Salvador Central America(you couldn´t even find my country in the map, LOL), and my copy is the same high quality as in the US and Canada!
