I nearly wet myself when they first showed the fat 40-something computer nerd! I've had the misfortune of seeing LAN-parties in action, and I must say, they captured the atmosphere nicely.
Although, to be fair, I probably look pretty stupid playing GT/Toca/Enthusia in my makeshift DFP racing cockpit .
I know a few people who take WoW WAY! too seriously. It was funny seeing how South Park decided to approach it. I didnt find it super funny but it was pretty funny all the same. The old computer nerd was great though, you never know who playing behind the character. I just caught the tail end of the episode but it was great.
"Quick, we must find a computer and log in!"
"I don't have an account. I have a life."
"I'm afraid this may be the end of the world....of Warcraft."
I wasn't aware that WoW gave you acne though. The kids hadn't hit puberty yet and suddenly they all have acne when they get fat. It suddenly makes me glad that I haven't played.
Loved Cartman's radio connection with his mum - "We need more Hot Pockets!" I've certainly been playing LAN Red Alert back in the day and my mate phoned his mum downstairs to get her to bring food and drink up.. i didn't agree with it, but it beats getting off your ass.
It all looked quite real. I guess "It's funny because it's true" fits well here
Was that actually WOW in-game graphics they were using?
I watched it twice yesterday. Very funny. That one's staying on the DVR for a while. Reminds me of the good old days back in college playing Diablo II for 12 hours straight... every other day.
I had it on my DVR for a while, but didn't watch it until now. I liked this episode but missed the last minute or two, since my DVR cuts off to quickly.
Finally caught it on YouTube (not sure of the legality but it's been there for two days and 80,000 views) and must say it's hilarious. You don't really need to be a WoW player to get it, I'm sure anybody with gaming experience in general would understand it enough to get by.
