Ok, either i am a total techno-tard, my router is a POS, my PS3 hates my router or your website is trash, because i am still getting Nat type three and no UPNP.

I tried setting up a static IP address, but got nowhere as their write up was for a previous version of Mac firmware...

I might just have to call someone who can physically come to my house and fix the problem, making me look like a total tool...

EDIT: Now after all this tinkering my PS3 doesn't find the internet at all. I'm going to bed, hopefully when i wake up everything would have some how fixed itself...

The way i get around this witch is easy for me but probably not for others is i plug the modem straight into ps3 and it creates a nat1 connection thats how i am able to get into your rooms now:sly:

Might have to try getting clever with where i place my PS3 in relation to my Modem & my TV. Thanks for the tip. I still cant get on PSN though... Teach me for being an impatient idiot i guess.

Anyway how was the sesh tonight guys?
 
I have NAT 3 and mine works perfectly fine..
 
MrDinosaw have you ever tried drifting that AU V8 Supercar? :lol: I was just thinking you should give it a wirl n see if it's any good, I bet it is.

Btw I'm using a wireless connection for my PS3 and that works fine. My PS3 is about 3 - 4 feet away from the modem, I can't remember what NAT it is though but it never malfunctions. Really good considering its wireless and I hear wireless is the worst possible way to use PS3 online.. ha.. ;)
 
Type 1 - Connected directly to the internet (no router/firewall). Should have no issues.
Type 2 - Connected through a router properly. Should have no issues.
Type 3 - Connected through a router without open ports or DMZ setup for PS3. Everything should function properly, but you may have connection, voice chat or other issues.

Ok, i'll give it a whirl in tonight sesh (if i can find a long enough internet cord). I just noticed that its our team colour and everything!
 
I get nat 1 occasionally lol. normally sitting comfortably on 2 though.

As long as you've got upnp enabled on the router, and upnp enabled in the ps3's network settings, it should be all G.

Then you can go into port forwarding if you still get issues.

If you're in a DMZ zone through the router, you wont need to open extra ports, DMZ allows it to run any port it wants.

also, UpNp wont make a difference for connection either, i dont use it.

UpNp works only with some, if your running through more than one router, check the second one, and also check the modem that the router is connected to.

Even without a router, it can be hard to aquire NAT1
depends on your ISP's setup also.
