Just judged Stavingo vs MonsterGAUZ.
Run 1: Monstar span on corner 4 and Stavingo finished cleanly for the 10-0
Run 2: A very nice run, where monstar built up some gap. Both drifted well until the last corner, where Stavingo left the track. Due to the poor camera angle I was unsure if 2 or all 4 wheels left the track. I called the run 7-3 to monstar pending conformation.
Refferal: so for the 1st time ever I had to watch the replay while the competitors waited with baited breath...
The conclusion: unbelievably 3 of Stavingo' wheels rode the yellow stripes, while one appeared to stay on the rumble strip. I could not bs sure which way to call it as there is no rule on this situation, and thus we all decided a rerun was required. A mutual and well known judge (ttch) would decide if staves last corner was legit. If deemed ok, he would win, if nt the result would come down to the rerun
Rerun: well, here we are once more!...
Run 1: stav was following really well, but unfortunately made hard contact with monster 10-0
Run 2: both guys ran really well... Stav but up a nice lead and rode it home well for the 6-4
So... if TTCH deems staves last corner ok, he wins 13-7
If not monster gets the 14-6 win...
In conclusion, I must thank both of these guys for being such good sports about the whole affair. It was intensely exciting watching these guys and the thrilling drama of this battle will be remembered for some time i'm sure
