I think it is a shame how the (premium) SuperGT cars sound. I love the cars, but the sound destroys the driving, let alone the replay... The cars sound like lame pimped streetcars. All I hear is a low rambling (sometimes overdriven) exhaust. Boring.

All are from my garage. I only have the standard ones for GT300.
Rest are premiums for GT500. Still missing a few cars.

Do you have the Nismo Z? One of the few turbo charged GT cars. Delicious burble upon changing (low) gears.

All of them have deep gurgle sounds at the bottom end.

Although the Z and the NSX sounds best IMO. Some of the standard GT300 sounds great also.

I agree, it sounds beautiful, lovely burbling sound:tup:

Will certainly be starting a collection of these cars now after reading this

Edited for you. :) Nice thumbnails by the way!

Remember the standard GT300 cars aren't Super GT but still are JGTC. And don't forget about the Super Autobacs MR-S. The Lexus IS200 GT-1 and Atenza Touring car aren't actually Super GT cars either as I'm sure you know.

For the GT500s, the Castrol Tom's Supra '97 isn't a Super GT car either but it is a premium. Just for those who don't know.

You're missing three of the best teams/cars in the Super GT GT500 class. ARTA because at one point one of their driver was Keiichi Tsuchiya (the "Drift King") who later became the team director.

Team Motul Autech is the only works team (Autech is a subsidiary of Nissan) driving the Nissan R35 GTR. In addition, Benoit Treluyer who drives with Satoshi Motoyama (they've been with the team in various forms since the debut of the R35 GTR in 2008) is the most recent Le Mans winner. In 2010, he was the runner up.

And as to the Lexus Team Petronas Tom's SC430, what can I say- the team took the overall victories in both 2008, 2009 when they also took the driver's championship and came second last year in both the team and driver's points. And its driver, Andre Lotterer is the Audi teammates of Benoit Treluyer hence last year's runner and and this year's winner at Le Mans.

Essentially, those three GT500 cars have a remarkable provenance.

Lately I've been driving and racing (in Arcade mode) GT500 cars in the rain and in the dark. The driving feels spectacular especially if you're caught with Racing Hard (after a dry start) in a downpour. The replay is amazing despite the glitches. Even right off the screen sans photomode:

I haven't really driven any other Super GT car than my Castrol Tom's Supra '97 and its a beast at 494HP on Racing Hard only car that has a chance of keeping up is the Nismo Z on Nurbruring GP that it, just wish Kaz would do something about saving during endurance races so i could have a go at Suzuka 1000km.

I wouldn't mind if PD gets the SUPER GT full license with all the cars and all the tracks available.
PLEASE PD!!!

100% agree! The "Official Super GT game, powered by GT5"..would be awesome, with all the rules, regulations and tracks and cars.

GT500 Arta NSX and Xanavi Nismo Z

by the way...im hosting a Super GT Race series....prizes are being handed out for winning races and winning the series...visit my thread...races are on saturdays at 5pm...i am still taking as many drivers as possible...thanx

I believe PD already has the Super GT license since they are one of the major sponsor of Super GT series. All of the cars from the GT500 class (which is the premier class in Super GT)from 2008 is in GT5. I might be wrong but here's the list of the 2008 entrants:

YellowHat YMS TOMICA GT-R
ENEOS SC430
TEAM IMPUL CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R
REAL NSX
TAKATA DOME NSX
AUTECH GT-R
XANAVI NISMO GT-R
WOODONE ADVAN Clarion GT-R
ECLIPSE ADVAN SC430
EPSON NSX
houzan KRAFT SC430
PETRONAS TOM'S SC430
ZENT CERUMO SC430
DENSO DUNLOP SARD SC430
RAYBRIG NSX

As to the track- we have two so far and possibly Montegi which was in GT4 might show up later. But there's still Sepang (in Malaysia), Okayama, Sugo and Autopolis. It would be great to have all the tracks but I'll be happy if Okayama and Montegi are added ASAP.

I am a huge fan of the SuperGT/JGTC. To bad it doesn't get Aired in the USA at all. If anyone is ever want to race online Please add me and just mentioned Super GT racing. Also part of Gamesta666s SuperGT season 2. We do have space. Weekend race(Sunday Morning for NA)

Who needs broadcast TV when you have Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/supergtracing

Whoever's running this channel on Youtube is doing a great service to the race series. You can catch all three of this year's race and qualifying and while it's not HD, the races shown are over a hour long.

Thanks for the heads up with the YouTube channel:tup:, I didn't know that they even had one.

But back to the topic, I'm almost ALMOST(caps for my complete satifaction of enjoyment) finished my SuperGT/GT500/300 car collection! I just have to get the last three Lexus SC's, IS Wedsport, Mobil 1 NSX and two GT500 Supras. Then sit "in" my garage and just look at them all . But I will just take them out for some hotlapping mostly.

No problem. It's especially great to watch those races with the original Japanese commentary even if you don't speak Japanese. Those guys, especially when there are two or three commenting on a race, are hilarious.

Another pic for the appreciation thread. As to why I'm posting off-screen pic instead of photomode. Personally, I prefer this over the uber-clean pic from photomode. And it shows how well the game look as is:

Just to clarify for some people, GT300 and GT500 cars are both racing in SuperGT.
JGTC is the old name before it change to that format of racing.

It's like LeMans series I believe.

Nope, it was GT300 and GT500 when it was JGTC, too.

they still have 2 classes though in super gt like jgtc, btw i also would wish they would also include some of the lambos and ferraris from privateers

It's a shame that PD skipped 2007 super gt cars. The 2007 NSX's were the fastest GT500 cars ever. The takata went around smashing track records after track records, and the ARTA NSX dominated the pack. After year 2007 Super GT (which is runned by Nissan and Toyota reps) put heavy restrictions on the NSX. Crippled the car with a 50kg handicap. Since GT5 is heavily supported by Nissan, I guess Nissan didn't want the 2007 Super GT NSX to be in it as it would put all the other Super GT cars to shame.

The Arta NSX is my favorite premium Super GT car. I've got the GT500 Stealth but I hope to get my hands on an NSX Stealth code.

The Xanavi GT-R is my favorite standard Super GT car. It's not as bright and shiny as the Premium model but it's got it's own charm.

Here I'm about to pass the Nismo Z for the win in the Nurburg Super GT seasonal.

Kaz REALLY needs to make a class selection with the cars... He made a class of HOW to race in rooms, how hard can it be to WHAT races in them.. Im tired of kicking useless people that show up in road cars or LMP when the room name is clearly stated "Jgtc super gt500 or DTM, or even a combination of the two... if you dont know the class, STAY OUT OF THE ROOM....

Greatest car class in my opinion... Especially when i run jgtc rooms with 600+ hp and no technological aids... Most of the fun i have in gt...

Wow, I had no idea. That's crazy.

Actually all the Premium GT500 NSXes in GT5, save the Epson, are from 2006/2007 season (you notice the 2008 Epson has the 50kg added weight). And PD did include the earlier cars from Nissan and Lexus/Toyota- the Nismo Z and the Bandai Direzza SC430 are both from the 2006/2007 season. Obviously, there's no Nissan R35 GTR since the car was introduced in the 2008 Season (which also happens to be a year a new regulation was introduced).

Back to the added weight penalty to the NSX- it's done in every race series when a car seems to have to much advantage. It's done either through added weight to the car or by adjusting restrictor plate. In fact, as you probably already know, "success ballast" is use in Super GT during each season to winning cars/teams as weight handicap. Besides balancing the field, it also assures a closer fight for the overall title.

Super GT is actually authorized directly by the FIA (although previously JGTC was FIA via JAF(Japanese Automobile Federation)) although the series is promoted by GT-A, an organization comprise of Japanese officials. I doubt very much that Nissan and Toyota are the only ones running the series.

Another pic although this time the cockpit of the Motul Autech R35 GTR (like the rest, straight off the screen) and it's great that PD took the trouble to recreate all the different cars, inside and out as no two cockpits are alike:

I'm also a proud owner of all the JGTC cars except for that pesky Mobile 1 NSX that I'm still trying to find:grumpy:

Anyway here's two pics of my Calsonic Impul GT-R

My favorites in-game would be the Takata Dome nsx and the two Subarus because Subarus rock :D

Rather disappointed, however, in the lack of Esso Ultraflo supras D:
