Spec 3.0?

You guys feeling confident of a Spec III update? Personally I have my doubts, but I'm welcome to being proven wrong.

Considering the recent repackaging of GT5, namely GT5:XL Edition in North America and GT5: Academy Edition in Europe which both contain Spec II updates on disc. Not sure if Asian and South American countries got upgraded versions too?... I'm going to assume we're talking at least half a year before we could see another overhaul of the game. Next Summer would be a great time for it I think.

I think Spec 3 has to come sooner than Summer. By Summer's time, Sony and PD are probably busy with final preparations for the PS4.

More rims more aerodynamic kits more race modification more photo location.
Fix the sound of the Aventador, Enzo.
More Premium cars more cities tracks (DLC)

I think I would be happy with this 👍

True, but there could be nothing better for PD to spawn interest further (if that's possible) by keeping GT5 fresh and updated throughout the first year of PS4 existence even when GT6 is released on it. It's a perfect way to keep fans happy and in a way promotes GT cause the vast majority of casual gamers still have the option to keep racing online on PS3, for at least the initial console transitional period anyway.

It would be a genuinely nice move and would dampen potential outrage with those who wanted GT6 on PS3.

My Spec 3;

An Event Creator with the ability to choose your own opponents.
At least 20 unique cars upgraded from Standard to Premium.
At least 10 brand new cars to the GT series.
At least 2 new tracks with some variations.
At least 3 old GT tracks upgraded to full GT5/PS3 graphics.
Option to include tyre blowouts to races of 5 laps or more.
Livery editor and more cars with the ability to be race modificated.

realistically i see PD adding in cars from the super gt 2012 season and/or 2012 dtm season. a few completely new cars. A possible add on to course maker. and one or two new tracks

I don't think they can realistically add something substantial considering PS3's capabilities and that isn't in GT5 already. They could get rid of some annoyances but that's no spec3.
With how slowly they model cars there's no way we get a lineup of 20 completely new cars, no livery editor, etc.

What they could do though is making already available content....available, for example old toscana, potential photo locations that are in the game, GT5:P features, on the fly tuning (Ordoñez photo), tracks that didn't make the cut (italy gokart track, stelvio pass) and so on. In short, a "what if" version of GT5.
What would be awesome is having a better track editor, as they probably have one in the office considering that 1) it's obvious and 2) there's that pictures with point to point courses.

When I think that, for 2 years, physics were not the same wether you were online or offline.... 2 years to fix this?!

I tell you what PD: forget GT5 : too many flaws...bring us GT6.

I agree completely. Even if there was a Spec 3.0, I expect it to be like 2.0, which was really underwhelming.

I wish to have more immersion of speed, especially when accellerating downhill, or decelerating uphill. I wish to also see a camera view, that is identical to cockpit view, only without the cockpit, just the windshield view. Please PD, thanks!~

As in features I'd love online drifting like Forza has, full track races with lap limits, and all drivers scoring points.
New offline events, Some new category called DLC, with events restricted to DLC cars or using DLC tracks.

More cars, about 10-20 Standard cars converted to Premium (This should be free)
And a big DLC car pack with 15 cars at least, all completely new cars.

And about 5 new tracks (not counting the variations/weather changes) could be completely new tracks or old GT4 tracks, at least 1 of them should be free while the other 4 being DLC.

I would really like them to fix the damn Cape Ring Logo!

Check the "black letters from Ring"..

I think PD probably have something in mind for a Spec 3, because 2.08 brought in a fairly important physics overhaul which could have been labelled Spec 3 if they'd used a bit more sparkle (practically irrelevant features that they could be bothered to knock out in a couple of weeks work would probably suffice). Why pass up an opportunity to say "we are making this game vastly better" even if it were bending the truth?

Crikey, we've been driving Cape Riny all this time.

I spotted it in the first week when I bought the game (on release day).
Weird nobody ever noticed it at PD..and took the effort to correct it.

Details, nothing driving related...so I guess no priority :(

Happy Cape Riny :)

hahaha It's just the design. The last two letters connect and you can see the little "flag" bit on the G that sticks out at the end. It's interesting, I say keep it.

I guess spec 3 won't bring any big changes. But they could correct some flaws and do small things, like:

Implement weather and time in Nurb GP tracks (already coded)
Make possible to delete individual lap records and increase the size of the list
Correct the POV for some cars interior views
Make an AI agressiveness slider available in A Spec and seasonals, just as in arcade mode
Etc

PD's Statement from Gran Turismo News Re: Spec 3.0:

We fixed a lot of stuff, you guys figure it out:sly:

I'd like to see them fix tuning now, so that it actually still works again.

Make it possible to delete individual lap records and increase the size of the list.

This is something I really want too. Half my Nurburgring Nordschleife times are from my Ferrari 458 Italia.
