Spec 3.0?

hahaha It's just the design. The last two letters connect and you can see the little "flag" bit on the G that sticks out at the end. It's interesting, I say keep it.

Yeah. A bit of mis-registered artwork.

As for 3.00 - to me a fully upgraded DLC 3.00 (Spec III?) would be GT6.
I'd be horrified to see DLC version 3.01 for GT5.

I voted in favor of Spec III. I think there are a lot of small additions and tweaks they could make without wasting much in the way of time and resources. But without having any idea of where the franchise is going it's really hard to say. If GT6 ends up a PS4 game it won't be out for a year, or two, or three, or more. In that case I'd say lets have at least one more big update for GT5.

That depends on how much more they can milk the current gen of consoles.

They could release a full GT6 just by adding some more 200 premium cars, some 15 more tracks both new and from past GTs, and expanding A Spec career and fixing all current bugs and limitations (specially multiplayer).

But how much more time has the current gen left? Assassins Creed 3 has just been released. GTA V will come in 2013. The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls are also coming, along with a new God of War. Just to name a few games. I don't think a new PS will come before late 2014.

Assuming this sounds reasonable, GT5 would have to endure two more years if GT6 is to be a next gen game. That's a lot of ground for Spec 3 to cover. If it does, we may even see spec 4...

I want the entire user interface style overhauled. It's slow to navigate through and pretty ugly. All of the other Gran Turismos had great UI's so I'm baffled. I'd also like access to more customization for my races so I can tweak the experience to my liking, such as being able to create car classes.

Some new cars update like Porsche.
Cos I don't see a proper Porsche in the game. Something like premium Porsche. 911 turbo, GT1, GT2 RS, GT3 ect.
How to complete a racing game without Porsches!

Not going to happen for GT5 all thanks to EA.

GT5 "biggest" updates have been the "unlocking" of things that were already in the game, like all color variations for cars in the UCD, rims for standards... things like that...

So, taking that into consideration, I think that the "logic" next step would be the hability to take pics of standards on Photomode, and the addition of the Photomode locations that can be seen on the main menu (just before you chose either GT mode, arcade, course maker, etc).

No, but anything can happen. (Both good or bad... most of the times the 2nd one). After all, we are talking about PD...

I think if spec 3.0 comes out, this might be what's in it:

- Some more standard cars turned premium
- More Super GT cars
- Chevrolet Corvette C7 Coupe (either the camo version or production model)
- A couple of final dlc to follow (including a couple of race courses from the old games)
- Hopefully all bugs are fixed or nearly fixed

@RandomCarGuy17 ^^^
I'd say that's reasonable. More Super GT cars might not be. Those sorta things are only fit to be DLC, unless it was an updated NASCAR roster for obvious reasons I suppose. Apparently, the 2009 roster wasn't included in GT5 even though (I THINK) a number of them were already modeled. There surely were a few of them modeled already.

hehe I was with you until you mentioned a Spec 4 update.

Has it even been confirmed that there will be a 3.0 Spec?
I think it would be questionable getting a Spec 3 IF we didn't get any updates recently. If the updates that came at the beginning of this year were the most recent ones, I'd say it would be unlikely that we'd get the Spec 3 update due to the hint that PD stopped supporting GT5.

Edit -
I want the entire user interface style overhauled. It's slow to navigate through and pretty ugly. All of the other Gran Turismos had great UI's so I'm baffled. Oh wait, I thought you were speaking of GT6. This is TOTALLY not going to happen for GT5 through an update.

The thing I didn't like about GT4's was that you had to search the country of the make you wanted. Not all of us (especially me back then) know that stuff. Imagine the real casual gamers that wasted their time trying to find what they wanted.

If Spec 3.00 comes to GT5,this is what I think it should be.

Cars:
2012 DTM
Newer SuperGT
Indycar
New WRC
New European Cars
WEC
WTCC
Hyundai Veloster

Tracks:
Silverstone
Road America
Long Beach GP
Abu Dhabi
Imola
COTA

And many more improvements on gameplay and sounds.

The only thing on your list that has ever had any evidence of being in GT at all is Silverstone, which is unlikely to appear any time soon. If they were going to put all of those tracks in game I think there would have been PD workers spotted at them.

Top Gear Track camera fix like in the Tv show. I get so piss they 🤬 it up

The Veloster as well.

^^^ It took me a second to find it so I'll bump his post for others to see.

Just because of the potential visibility by someone/somewhere - I will focus strictly on functionality and options inside existing things in GT5:

Various Functionality
- oil-change inside pit-area
- Paint Shop introduction (buy paints already "unlocked" or bought through DLC for regular prices, sell paints you have/are gifted for symbolic amount of Cr)
- ability to manually delete times from Time Trial menu
- option "Remove All Parts" inside Garage which removes all removable tuning-parts
- option "Restore Default Tuning" inside Garage that restores all tuning values to default (for installed/default parts)
- non-mandatory SRF in License Tests and following that, ability to reset License Tests times and results once completed

Online Options
- oil-change in the pit-area
- ability to save "Lobby Preset" for Lobby options (either private or public)
- Lobby Theatre Mode (all people inside lobby can watch replay post-race together - lobby host controlling)
- introduce Host Tuning options: None, Host Tuning Parts Only, Host Tuning Open and Host Tuning Apply
  • Host Tuning Parts Only - all cars in lobby have to have exact the same parts-tuning as Host Car
  • Host Tuning Open - all cars can modify installed parts based on Host Tuning - parts needed/eligible to be seen through highlighting in Tuning Menu
  • Host Tuning Apply - all cars will have tuning values applied as values of the Host car
This option is complementary with existing options of Part Tuning, where choice of Prohibited locks the tuning under values of Hosts' car (for same-spec racing)
- introduce Team Race - 2 players race for the same "team", post-race prizes are issued based on their combined results

B-Spec Online
Introduce the option to race B-Spec drivers in online multiplayer in the real-time (as regular MP option)
- players are in the Online Lobby (private or public)
- host chooses either A/B Spec race
- all players can sign one of their existing B-Spec drivers of choice
- track/car combo is selected, rules for race are selected
- race commence with real-time B-Spec management
- Team Race option - see above in Online options
- B-Spec XP + Cr for prizes

Gran Turismo 5: Prologue™ Heritage Races
Re-introduce official Matchmaking races in bi-week rhythm (to change when Seasonals change or can even be from the same category as Sasonals - but they're online MP races):
- 3 categories: Normal, Intermediate, Expert (as in GT5:P)
- pre-determined set of rules (vehicle, track, # of laps, PP vehicle group, tyre compound)
- XP/Cr prizes only

Never forget:
event.jpg

Course Editor
- ability to create point-to-point stages
- ability to add chicanes
- patch the crazy algorithm of having Killer Blind Slopes™ on every major turn
> wishful thinking: add 4 more environments in the Course Editor

Absolute Wishful Thinking Category
Original Courses™ DLC with 5 tracks from previous GT games
(my personal choice would be Midfield Raceway, Apricot Hill, Grindelwald, Red Rock Valley and Rome Classic)

Thank you PD 👍

Some other stuff I'd like to see
-An option to remove the stock spoiler in every premium car.
-Add more rims to the standard cars.
-Full 4WD to RWD/FWD conversion (I know we can do 10/90, but 0/100 would be great).
-Remove the whole Racing Modification on the available cars, and re add them as TC cars on the Dealer.

Great ideas man!

but for the Racing Modification option, they could expand it in a simple way, like if it just adds all the aero options available to the cars plus racing numbers on it...

That would be cool enough.

I would really like them to fix the damn Cape Ring Logo!

Check the "black letters from Ring"..

CapeRing.jpg

(Copied the image from here)

A bit late, but anyways...

It doesn't say Cape Riny ().
It says Cape Ring, it's just that they've designed the track logo with the bottom half of 'Ring' sitting down slightly from the top half.

If you imagine the bottom half sliding up to the right slightly you'll see that it's meant to say Cape Ring :)

I'd prefer a new game, which will have everything Kaz wanted to add on it. Leave GT5 now, they did enough. No other game on a console gives weekly updated races and stuff. The game is getting too big, it is like 10GB including all updates. For starters it is a nightmare to do all updates lol. Some extra cars once in a while is good enough for me.

GT5 is an amazing game, but it isn't the best of the GT series if you ask me. I hope the races/tournaments will be much harder in GT6.

Fix the non-working gauges at https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=243177.

Then fix the wrong specs at https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=193920.

Then have PD consult me and google images on premium car modelling errors.
(A surprisingly high amount.)

I worry that these problems will end up carrying on to GT6 if they are not nipped in the bud. Reading some other thread on the possible overworking though, I feel kinda bad about demanding so much.

Meh, don't question it. If we ask for enough, we're bound to get SOMETHING that we asked for!

If spec 3.0 comes out, what are you expecting from the update?
Share your ideas.

(Seems to get closer and closer)

Maybe the clutch being fixed on the wheels that have them.

Maybe make it adjustable to adjust where it engages on different cars.

GTP_CargoRat
Seems pretty close to just another wishlist thread to me.

And yeah you are right

Usually when we have very long maintenance periods theres an update to follow. Not holding my breath though.

It would be nice if they implement head tracking in different race modes. Having it on online racing would be great, I doubt it would be that hard to do.

Wouldnt be too much to ask for.
