not a bad car for the time though...

Yeah, to say the least. The later Duesenberg SSJ's had a supercharged straight 8 with 4 valves per cylinder, 400 horsepower, and a three speed manual. Downright awesome for 1937/1938. Unfortuneatly, these cars didn't have A/C.
(Not that you needed it in a car like this)

Erm... I doubt it would be a Stude. They made more 'average' cars. I think A/C would inflate the cost too much back then.

Don't read too much into my wording...

High-Test
Famine said 1938, and Capitalized AM. so... studebaker?

But it was a Studebaker, yes.

Anyone want to go for the model, or shall we just give the next question to High-Test?

This could take a while... :D

It's your go anyway, but the answer is the 1938 Studebaker Commander.

Argh! The model I couldn't think of!

Hmm..

Here's an easier one: Name the first American to win the French Grand Prix, What car he drove, The year he won, and where the race was held.

Slicks
Um.... Just a random guess.
Phil Hill, Jaguar, 1958, in the Le Mans townsite.

Is the location right? The car?

Um... I'll guess again.

Again, Phil Hill. Lotus. 1954. Le Mans townsite.

There's not much I can find about him, but He is American.

Yes, pre-1950, by at least 20 years.

OK....
This 1960's musclecar had plastic inner fenders. What car was it, in what year, and finally, what color were they?

Yeah.. It was also the first car to have a safety bumper that didn't crumple at 5mph. Made by the genius who brought us Subaru, and the Retard trying to bring us Chery, a Chinese corporation that is being sued by GM for unliscenced copying.

So.. Malcolm Bricklin's Genius to idiot ratio is.. 1:2?

Wasn't it Ford 351 powered?

Damnit, High-Test, you're too good. 1970 Olds 442 W-30. But, before I hand it off to you, what color were they (the fenders)?

High-test, you're a genius. How about that ;) :)

Yep, I think so. I once read in Motor Trend that "The DMC DeLorean was better than the Bricklin in every conceiveable way. It was slower though." Also, don't forget the Yugo, the little car that couldn't quite (Genius-to-Idiot Ratio: 1.5:2.5)

Um... Red Fenders?

And weren't they Fiberglass?

wait.. so old Malcolm gets half a genius point for the Yugo?

I wouldn't say that, I've got a C in Pre-Calculus. Wasn't there A leaderboard for this thread or something? I think either keef or Toronado should be on top of it..

To put my two part answer in one post: The 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 had red inner fenders.

Hmm. I have to think of a question....

Ah.

I feel evil now. Tell me the specs of the very first "Stovebolt", where the nickname comes from, and the first year it was used.

It was a 6 cylinder produced in 1929...that's pretty much all I know.
