Yeah, to say the least. The later Duesenberg SSJ's had a supercharged straight 8 with 4 valves per cylinder, 400 horsepower, and a three speed manual. Downright awesome for 1937/1938. Unfortuneatly, these cars didn't have A/C.
(Not that you needed it in a car like this)
