If people had really ugly color combos online it would give me more incentive to pass them.

Nope, BBS wheels come with Premium package Evo X only, check for yourself

(Japanese site because thats the basis of the Gran Turismo model versions)

The small box shows the different variations, premium has the BBS wheels, regular GSR and performance package Evos have the wheels I pictured above and the RS has different wheels again.

Seeing as this is PD we're talking about, I wouldn't be surprised if they did it in a way that makes little sense. We have the SLR and the STI that both list wheel options in their names. We don't have the same models shown without those options as far as I can remember.

And so far, according to the 'GTPlanet GT5 Master Car List' we have seen less than 25% of all the cars that GT5 will have. Prologue has only, what, 76 cars? With such a slim selection of cars already shown it would be pointless having two identical cars save for the wheels wouldn't it. I still stand by the fact that by naming a wheel option it likely means that other 'options' will be available.

The fact we have seen cases of several different versions of the same car in the Gran Turismo universe, an inclusion of Evo X and SLR without these options in GT5 make it more probable.
We can also speculate that presenting several slightly different versions of the same car - even if it's by name only - make it a little easier to reach and go beyond that magic 1.000 car mark.
I mean this is what I would do if I have reached, say 980 unique cars. That is a lot of cars.
Still not a definite fact. But it seems to make sense.
