Hi, I just discovered the Special Stage Route 7 today and I can't find anything here that talks about it so I'd like to know what you think about it.

Route X is preferred now I think.

I still use if for cruising around. It's less boring than Route X. Drag races in it are fun too. I usually race with a friend. Each takes one tunnel and the first to exit is the winner.

In my humble opinion, the track could be a bit shorter. At least a 1/2 mile of the middle section is basically useless.

But yes, I personally love the track and wouldn't change it over Route X, except for the speed tests that X has.

Special Stage Route X pretty much killed it off. I never really liked it that much, it has this funny green hue to it and its kind of boring, SSRX isn't much better, but its nicer to look at and can be fun in the right car.

I like SSR7, taking a car out for a bash on the highway in the rain at night. There is something romantic and magical about it.

Yeah I like to drive it while listening to Kenny G. I light a few candles, turn the lights down low, sprinkle some rose petals around the cockpit, pop a bottle of Champagne...

It's a boring track that PD shouldn't have wasted their time on. I mean, how can you incorporate authentic wangan racing without traffic?

I'm surprised with all this "Cops and Robbers" rubbish online that no-one has setup a room specifically for this, with say ten "traffic" cars and two wangan runners.

Because finding 10 people who would be willing to be the traffic cars and not be dinks about it would be next to impossible to do in the open lobby lol. It would have to be a very organized league of some sort. Personally I'd be more than willing to be a traffic car when it wasn't my turn to race...so many fun little cars to pull out for jokes, and could probably get some wicked pictures too.
There are Wangan leagues on GTP that use SSR7, along with SSR5 and SSRX, but I don't think they run traffic cars.

As far as SSR7 goes, I love it :) I love rippin my JDM monsters on it. It does get a little boring after a while, but I always find myself coming back to it after a period of time. What I would really love is a free roam map that was a combination of CSR5, SSR5, SSR11 (both version of it), SSR7, and SSRX. That would be sooooo epic haha.

I want a "C-Spec" mode that includes the area around Tokyo R246 and all of the SSRs serving as Tokyo's hypothetical highway system.

Yes and Yes.

Personally SS7 is better than RX because RX is to straight for me. The only time it's useful is for drag races and speed tests. In SS7 there are little bends so it makes it a little more interesting to race on especially with the X1's. RX is just to flat and boring to do races on.

SSR7 could do with some better scenery instead of those constant noise barriers

However, considering that there are/were some bugs on track, I believe it was a rushed job to release it on time.

If only someone in PD had the nads to defy Japanese tradition of mindlessly following orders, spend some time connecting ssr7 with the other SSR stages and make a complete circuit.

A C-Spec freedom mode would be great!

As far as the Tokyo thing, I like the idea, but would NOT want to see R246 connected to the Special Stage tracks. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so if PD were to connect R246 to a highway system, I'd want it to be connected to the actual Tokyo highway system. I'm sure many know this, but others probably don't - the last corner of R246 (the hairpin under the overpass) is actually located directly under Shinjuku Route 4, which is part of the Shuto Expressway (the toll highways that run through Tokyo that are used for highway racing in real life).

Connecting R246 to the C1 Inner and Outer, perhaps even the New Loop Line would be epic...connecting it to the Wangan and Yokohane, down to Yokohama (Daikoku Futo anyone???) would cause me to make a mess of my pants haha.

And I'm pretty sure all of the special stage tracks are a deliberate imitation of the Tokyo highway system, so it's fitting that they remind people of Wangan Midnight ad Tokyo Extreme Racer.
