Sorry but that track is just way to simple You really only have a skill factor on the 2 ends the rest is all just drafting and bumping and in a 200 hp car would be very boring to me just as a 200 hp car on Daytona speedway would be boring but may be a close race.

London on the other hand is a bit more interesting in the low powerd cars.

Nurburgring has always been my favourite, I raced some nice 80's under 150HP cars with my friend, at sunrise, it was amazing.

When i go online i set up my own lobbies with BHP limits and assist limits and people will always join, thats where i have the most fun.

Bob likes mine a lot. I like it too on races I just want to win.

There are several cars I enjoy a lot more, though. I still love my Subaru WRX STI. My fleet of 1970 Challengers bring a smile to my face every time I get in one. The only thing in the game that I don't really enjoy are the FF cars. I would much rather race almost anything over the X2010, but it's a fun car to have around.

I agree totally, I don't care much for the Veyrons or other monster cars... Maybe the F1s but surely not much about the X2010. I prefer to have real fun driving with my Elise, or my collection of Fairladies. The online races with the slower and everyday's cars is much more fun, and I hate the occasional guy who shows up with his Veyron (that cannot really drive...).

I strongly disagree, Speed is everything! without it! theirs no racing.. then, where talking racing in a wheel chair then? I bought this game for only 2 reasons. #1 To learn to go kart #2 X1! That's it!

I got to level 30 yesterday and thought I'd have a crack at the the X1 challenge.

After changing the wheel settings to 1 and switching to auto, within about 20 mins I was 3 secs off Bronze at the 'ring and that was my 3rd clear run.

So, I dont imagine it will be too difficult for me to get the car.

BUT, I can't be arsed. Driving it for those 20 mins was enough for me to go back into the garage and jump in an XKR on sports medium and go for a spin around the Nordschleife.

The X2010 is just good for you to finish the game way earlier, but racing with it it's just not challeing at all... If you put MAX Downforce on the car he will do the corners of TOKYO in 350 km/h while the other car's at max do it at 200 km/h...

In all tracks, even the Oval tracks the X1 always win's. It starts to become boring as the time passes while you drive the car. I also do not think any real driver can corner at 300 km/h...

I prefer way more those vintage race cars like Jaguar XJ13, Ferrari 330P4 and the Ford Mark IV. These car's are simply amazing to drive, and it's very challenging when you race with one of them in the historical race car cup.

You don't need speed to have a good race..

Well, I don't really care about the fastest cars in the game. I've found the cars from the tuner companies to be about ehat I enjoy most on terms of driving feel, like the RE Amemya FD3S, as well as some of the RM cars. I just love my S15RM, bespite it having less than 300HP.

I can understand some people getting a kick from going as fast as possible, though.

I had some excellent racing online last night where the limit was 300hp. Probably the best racing I've had in the game so far - certainly the best fun I've had online anyway. So I'm also of the opinion that speed isn't necessarily what you need for a good race.

I like my lightweight, low-power races. My Elise RM has 200hp, weighs 690kg - and it's a quick car!

You're taking his question too literally. Of course we need some sort of speed to race, his point was we don't need insane ammounts of speed like the X1 to have fun, moderate speed is good enough.

If you are going to learn anything from GT5, it would be that speed is not the only factor for good racing.

I love driving fast, it pretty much is everything to me. I tune most of my cars for maximum performance, and then annihalate them in A-spec. When i play online with friends I'll match them and drive the same, slower car and i'll enjoy the challenge, but with AI which isn't real I don't care about a fair race. Most cars are fun to drive, but when it gets to stupidly slow cars then it's just too much time on the straights and braking, nothing actually challenging with braking points etc.

Each and Every Car in this Game has its merits , some are Driven all the time . others simply Gather Dust in the garage . Where all different and we all have our Favourite Cars .

Its a Great Game that will Consume lots of your time , till the next Installement turns up .

driving is meant to be fun :)

This is another way of having fun aswell

Ok, before someone starts the flame wars... this is just MY opinion. And i want to share it and know about yours either.

Everybody is just crazy about the X1 Prototype, a "car/rocket/comet" that doesn´t even exists ..so far. I´ve got one, from a friend... and i just have to ask: WHat is the point? I mean... the car handles absolutely spectacular, its fast as it can be... but, again i ask: What is the point?

Its a matter of personal taste, i agree, and generallyl it is... faster cars, crazy lap times, etc. I dont think people should give this car so much credit. Sure it is cool to drive on the first 10 minutes, but after that.. it gets normal, and you will find that your superb highpowered enzo or minolta or whatever car you used to love..isnt a beast anymore. And you will be ignoring the other great, low-end cars, that could give you tooons of fun ( remember lupo challenge at nurb? )..

I rarely see people talking about 100hp~300hp cars ...or tradind it. When i join a online lobby, all i see is SUPRAS, ENZOS, LAMBOS, PEUGEOTS and stuff... cant see anybody cruising nurb in a alfa romeo giulia sprint, or a bmw 2002 '72...or a more interesting car.

There is SEVERAL ways of having fun with low powered cars online... nobody seems to care though..

What your opinion about this?

I think most people who play this game online thinks passing you on a straight line with a much more powerful car takes a lot of "skillz" 👍

I don't really understand why people make a big deal out of the X1. Probably only 1% of players do consistent laps without spinning out the thing. Why would everyone else want a car they can't control?

I have so many ridiculously fast cars in my garage that I'm getting sick of them. Half the races I do, especially online, are with ridiculously fast cars. I have so much more fun driving around a slower car. the last few cars I've bought I have either left completely stock (performance wise) or only modded them a little. I'm even getting tired of modding cars fully. I'd much rahter drive a 350HP Audi TT around th Nurburgring than some silly non existant fairy redbull car that defies gravity. I don't even have any need to buy the F1 car that everyone talks about. I enjoy gran turismo for their NORMAL cars, which was the original point of the first GT.

For me driving cars I like with best friends, or just good people online is most important!

I feel it's a matter of personal taste. Some people get their jollies trying to go for that last thousandth of a second. There are also others who enjoy dueling with other good drivers.

I'm in the latter category. I haven't raced online at all, but my local friends and I are big 2P Battle junkies. We used to duke it out at the Nurburgring on Sport Soft tire-equipped cars in GT4 for hours.

As soon as I finish building cars for everyone in my garage(no one else has a PS3/GT5 yet), we'll be doing the same thing again. So that we can have a variety of cars, I've broken things up by power to weight ratios, with classes at the 4.5kg/hp, 3.5kg/hp and 2.5kg/hp ranges. So far, choices range from things like a Cappucino to an M3, and on up to a Viper ACR.

If you are going to learn anything from GT5, it would be that speed is not the only factor for good racing.
This. I personally think that the people who don't like the X2010 think its overrated. Of course, it is & I have not seen anyone brag about the car before GT5 came out. Its a car of its own class, make a lobby & host an X2010 race.

If speed was everything, you'll be able to go around the ring 100% throttle without spinning out. This car does have its limits too. It just happens to be very fast around a track & people look at it as "the ultimate race car".

As long as everyone is in similar classed cars and of a similar skill level, that makes for the most fun I think. Whether it be in a Fiat 500 or the X2010. Although it must be said, the X2010 is more of a white-knuckle thrill ride, it can still be fun learning to drive it consistently like can be done with a "real" car. The worst part is having to go through the menus before driving it to change the force feedback settings to something lower than 10 so one can do more than 5 laps without their arms falling off. And that is one reason I usually leave it to bob to grind down.

I see under 500hp and under 300 hp races online all time! Start one urself and just wait a few minutes. There are def ppl out there who want to race slower cars

I really like the X2010. It's massive fun pushing it the the very limit and learning how to drive it properly. But i also like the slower cars. The Alfa TZ2 is fun as well because it is so nice to drive, whereas i like the P4 because it's hard to master. I did a 20lap race round Monaco online in a renault sport megane and enjoyed it so much i went and bought one. On a track like SSR7 or La Sarthe you need a car thats fast otherwise i find it gets boring. Taking a tuned Mini Cooper 1.3 round street circuits and beating cars with 2x or even 3x the power is probably the most fun i've had.

Agreed, partially at least. I think that you're far more likely to run into good races at lower classes. It will make it easier for less skilled people to stay clean and will kepp the "ZOMG fast!" guys away 👍

I like the quick cars, but racing the small cars is a lot more fun.

You make less mistakes, you can "race" and overtake a lot more. Unfortunately most people online are Zonda people, if you know what I mean...

For me, it´s all about the feeling of driving. No mater what car it is. I can have a blast with a Honda Civic, the same way that I can with a Dodge Viper. It´s the feel of movement, and imagining how all the components in the car are making it work. From a 30HP three banger to a 1000HP Quad Turbo W16... It´s magic...

It is not all about speed. Acceleration, handling, setup, modification, matchups and much more go a long way to deciding whether you win or lose a race. (I accidentally clicked personal taste on the poll though... :()

I have multiple X1's and trust me they are everything, speed and control!
I still use my other cars aswell...

opted out of poll cuz choices were silly/vague
