Has anyone figured out for sure that if you shoot into the pit lane at full speed and let the computer slow you down, That your pit box wont let you out for a couple of seconds to make up for speeding into the pit lane?

I've for sure had that happen, but only on some tracks. I've had it happen on Daytona and I believe on Indy, but at Nurburgring 24h I don't think it gave me a time penalty. Those are the instances I've remembered...

I'm running a pit-lane test later today, and I'll report back my findings. Thanks for telling me about the different tracks, because I could of went to 1 track that doesn't do it, and just thought I was tripping. i noticed it on Grand Valley Rev first, and then it happened again at my Tokyo Rev race. I'll start my test there, and then move on to your listed tracks.

Thanks! I always tend to slow down for all tracks just so I never have to worry about it. Anything (fair) to become a faster driver 👍

Do any of you guys know what the speed limit into the pits should be? I'm going to try 45mph & 65mph. Matter of fact after tonight's test session, I should be able to tell you guys what the maximum pit entry speed limit is, await results?

There's a few second penalty at every track, and every track has a different pit lane speed limit. You need to test each track to 100% know for sure. But I can tell you this....If you speed or enter pits sideways or skidding into them at Daytona (Oval) it will make you do a drive-through penalty, just like IRL. This is probably the harshest pit penalty this game has.

I went flat out into the pits at Monza in my FGT and was held in place for roughly 15 seconds after the pit crew had finished :(

I think it is 70mph they expect... I don't go flat out into the pits, I slow to about 80 and let the AI take over.

I use 50 mph, although if your going about 60 when the AI takes over it will slow down in time to be under the limit if the limit was 50 mph. I believe that's what the limit is on Daytona Super Speedway.

If differs depending on the track and the car. You can go quicker into the pits if the car can be stopped quickly, such as in a light car vs a heavier car. Daytona and Indy oval speed limits also depend on whether you're in the first 3 pit boxes or not (speed limit is lower if you are), and whether there is currently another car in the pitlane when you enter. (speed limit is lower if there is). If there are no cars in the pits at Indy oval and I'm not in one of the first 3 pitboxes, I can enter the pits at under 198mph in a NASCAR (racing hard tyres) and be fine. With other cars in the pits and/or an earlier pitbox, about 150mph is a safer speed.

For NASCAR at Daytona, the limit is somewhere between 90 and 110mph.

Some tracks have a chicane in the pits, so you can fly into the pits and bounce of the wall/cut across the chicane (Circuit de la Sarthe doesn't have walls, but Grand Valley does) without getting a penalty.

But if you do that you run the risk of having the AI getting stuck...been there before :banghead:

Are you sure it`s not the refuelling that`s holding you up?

I was the same as you, wondering why I was being held so long after the tyres had been changed, then I noticed the fuel guage slowly creeping up.

Next time it happens, look at the fuel guage, as it does take abit of time to fill 90+ litres. ;)

Gotta disagree with you on this one ken. I can enter the pits at Daytona at 150mph or lower and no penalty. Been doing it forever and have proved it time and time again. As long as you enter at the right angle, you'll be fine.

Thanks for the heads up, but I crossed that of the ist already just in case, I'm diffiently not fueling up when this happens.

The pit crew had stopped refuelling, if it wasnt a penalty the only other thing I can think of is some kind of lag (room had 14 in players from AUS, US, UK, GER )

Tsukuba is one, I went In too fast and it chucked me back on the track, one of my racers done the same, it put him back on track so he went back in straight away and it give him a drive through and wouldn't let him change tyres. Weird!

I found this out about 3 weeks ago in my FIA GT1 series.

I was third in the race, but I had already pitted. The guys infront of me had not pitted yet, so I would feed in 1st. I was on Skype to one of them and as I went to pass him on track, I told him to move as I had already pitted, but he replied, "I just come out of the pits."

He was about 20 seconds behind before the pit stops, but because he drove in slowly, and I just bombed it in, I lost the lead. I wish they would write these rules down somewhere.

This was at Monza by the way.

Yea I like the pit lane entry penalty rule, but tell us its there or have a race Stewart put out a penalty board or something. Don't just leave us guessing. I screwed up 2 races already because of this.

I'm in that series now, that's why I'm trying to figure this out by sundays Monaco race, you already know how difficult it can be to pass there without trading a little bit of paint.

Yes, happened to me on LaSarthe, into the pit full bore, 8 seconds or so sitting after tires changed. Went in at 90kph next time, no penality. :)

I know 1 track you can't get a speeding violation at is Spa.
Pit entry way to tight there especially after that tight chicane.

This is a carry-over from GT4.

You could get the drive-through penalty at New York and a couple other tracks, if you entered the pits too fast.
