i did it with a used MR2 spyder, and put about 10,000 into the engine work. ran just fine. car cost about 7400 bucks.

basically any car that is a roadster or spyder all cars that are 2 seat convertable compacts, s2000, mr2 spyder, bmw z4, any of those type cars.

This is NOT the place for these 'what car' threads. They belong on the GT4 board. Is this a writeup? NO!

I tried the MG TF (no, I don't know why; now I'm stuck with it). That didn't work. So I went with an Elise 111R with mild power upgrades. At around 215 hp it was plenty for the Spyder & Roadster series and also took the MR series against the NSX-Zero.

Thanks for your help. I used a s2000 and won the spider + roadster championship easily. However I a was wondering if anyone has any advice about the supercar festival in the professional hall. Has anyone completed this difficult competition, and if so what is the best car to use? When it says 'unmodified cars only' does that mean that you cannot buy anything for your cars?

Thankyou

..lol same thing i used in the Truck race :D
an SSR woot!
hey.. i saved some money there lol and i so totally forgot that it was a convertable too!

Typically 'unmodified' means you are allowed to buy an oil change and any tires you want, but nothing else. You are not allowed to use race cars, either.

The Supercar Cup? That's strange, I used a fully modded Yellow Bird. I always thought modified referred to racing modifications, or to put it in an easier way, No race cars.

I had found a TVR Griffith 500 the day before in a used car lot for 20,000 so I used that. That is a lovely car, very nice handling and brilliant power to weight.

for the spider/convertible race, i used an Elise 111R.
And used it for MR race as well, oh and some other 'light weight' race

a very good car

SL65 AMG is the car to go with.

you can also race.. FR Race/Benz one-single race/SL race/German car cup/
so on and so on..

so much torque in that car.. i love it

Uncle Harry Calling in.
Had the Pal version for a week.
It would appear that PD definition of "unmodified" in GT4 means a road car with upgrades is allowed and race body cars are not allowed.
This definition also caused confusion in another post about the European Hot Hatch races.

So you can modify your car with turbos, racing brakes etc. but what can you not do?
Are race cars, the ones that are very expensive with sponsers over the car body and they have already been modified?

You can use the RUF 3400s. In GT3 that was probably the second best choice for the spider and roadster cup (after the Cobra.)

I Used Peugeot 206 cc 2.0 ... and believe it or not.. i made it! LOL

Fully modded, with 302 hp and NOS, suspension and tyres too :)

It was very funny (and hard) with the 206 :)

I got that as well it is brilliant :)

mx-5 1.8 turbo 2005
LOL i put the turbo in it owned everything with easy 300hp 700kg car = fast

I used it for the light Japanese car one too

the best one is the mg mgf that is the best one to do the race with just simply mod it a bit not to much though (thats a wast of money) + you can use the car as well for 5 different races and easy wins

Lotus Elise 111R with a few upgrades trounced everything in the races, is the way to go if you don't mind getting small amounts of A-Spec points.
