I'm kind of let down with the tail. I was really expecting more. It's just too slab-sided and could have been better resolved. the tails are too high and narrow considering the front of the car is so low and wide. Those big square vents look more than out of place.

And the front was so promising! Gah, what a shame eh?

The car looks like rubbish. I sincerely don't know why, but it just looks kind of old.

👎 to Saleen

EDIT: Oh my Jesus! I was so wrong! 👍👍 to Saleen!

EDIT: I dont know if I like it or not. It's so hard to decide!! :nervous:

It were the NSX pic, weren't it? :p

Just a hunch: maybe it looks like a hotwheels car and those tend to be pretty ridiculous but cool at the same time and it's hard to convince yourself that it is overly ridiculous?

Personally, I think it is pretty cool that somebody finally put something you would see in a $1 box at a toy store into production.

Didn't know if it has been mentioned, but it appears as if Steve Saleen is no longer associated with the company after a dispute over the Ford GT production. Anyone have any more information on this?

MR, small twin turbo system on a Ford GT motor, 700 overestimated HP, producing nearly identical performance in speed with Enzo. just my guess.

Actually the engine is based on Ford Modular engine family, a 5l DOHC design with Lysholm twinscrew-style supercharger if I'm right. the base modular engine from Ford costs 16-18k..

Presumably so. The "Cammer" 5.0L V8 that Ford Racing sells has been pretty successful, and as I recall, some of their first applications were in the Parneli Jones Mustangs that came out last year. However, I have no idea what the price point is on the units. But they are making a lot of power, as much as 550 BHP when they show up in the FR500GT Mustangs...

Saleen still planning supercar
Auto-tuning entrepreneur Steve Saleen says he has legally regained use of his name on all his products after a lengthy court battle. On Tuesday, he detailed some of the plans for the company.

Remember the S5S Raptor concept car revealed at the New York auto show in 2008? That is apparently still on the books. While there is no immediate announcement coming, Saleen said he is confident that the S5S, or a car similar to it, will be coming out, though maybe with a different name.

"We're still planning on doing something like that," Saleen said. "That's still a part of our plan. The S5S is still in our planning.

While a new supercar is a ways off, Saleen said you can look for a major new-vehicle announcement in the next 90 days.

"It'll be somewhat of a different direction," Saleen said of the new car.

"You have to recognize this: It's going to take me a while to rebuild the company," Saleen said. "It's going to take a while to get things restructured and put back into where we were five or six years ago. So people need to be a little bit patient because there's a fair amount of restructuring to go in place. The name is just kind of the starting point. My hope is it won't take 30 years like it did the first time."
