If anyone wants to decompress, I'm hosting STTR as usual tonight, and the weekly theme is RR cars at 500pp.

it is a new experience and my heart got a bit bumping during the pace lap, feel like in a real race where everyone is crawling @ 60km/h behind the SC, getting exciting when approaching the line when the SC went into the pit, that was something different and new!! and all 4 tires were in deep-blue color cos the slow lap, being very cautious not to spin out on the first lap was tricky... lol :dopey:


My stint, honestly, I can only say "ok", not the best driving, got stuck behind the orange GT86 for many laps and the Xbox was all over my mirror. The thing was that GT86 was all over the place in front including getting off track, over the curb but seems the race-control were only focusing on the leaders, thus I wasn't able to do anything cos that GT86 was just like weaving in front of me, he didn't do it in purpose cos I can see he was actually trying to save the car from spin out.


Somehow my laptime was quite slow compare to testing, about 1-1.5s off.

but the good was my laptime was steady the whole 29 laps, and I manage to save a pit stop.

only glitch was I spin out once when defending the 2 Xbox, mainly because i was trying to give them room and eventually put myself on the curb and :crazy::crazy:


anyway, it's a good experience, woke up at 3:30am to run the qualify, lol

but then I couldn't get back to sleep between the qualify and race! :boggled:


btw, when is the next race??? :cheers::cheers:
 
May 24th I believe is the VLN race at Nurburgring, we're going to have to make ring masters out of everyone for this one. Don't forget we'll be the top class but also one car will not qualify because out grid will be limited to 7 cars, so qualifiers will need to be on their game. I've actually got a test room up that I'm using periodically so come get some experience laps if you need them

the 1st GTP race for Team SAC is done.

i am looking forward to the next one now...

and i/we will do as hard as possible to get a better result.

today's race is a good experience and i am glad we finished the whole race quite smoothly... but i know.. we are not happy with 5th.

for my part, i will have to practice or build confidence on starting with very cold tires. and get into groove asap.

I know some guys outside of the club who could coach us if need be. They used to exclusively run the Nordschleife so they know what's what for setting up a car there, the rest is just practice. I've had the circuit memorized since GT4 but I still have a lot to improve on it. I may also think about doing just 2 drivers for this one to maximize the capabilities of the best pair on it whoever they may be.

i just checked with the schedule i sent you on the other conversation and i can only run the Spa one which is on the 23rd May.

let me check the schedule on the Nordschleife and see can i participate.

or, if some other drivers are more familiar with Nordschleife they should take my spot.

actually Manny pops up in my mind.

I've spent about 25% of my total driving time on the Ring.

The GTPlanet endurance series streaming sucks they spent laps and laps on the same car while good battles for position or at least exiting where happening somewhere else! They have been doing this for awhile and its a shame! I spent more than four hours in their youtube channel, I subscribed to their channel trying to see our guys and I got nothing!

I completely agree with you.
 
Watching the replay of when I drove, it sounded like I was one of the fastest GT4 guys on track? I came up on a total of 4 cars in my stint but they were all ranked lower than we were and I passed them pretty easily. I really wanted to have a crack at one of the BMW's because those guys were really fast and I was curious how I would do against them. Oh well, at least I had a clear track most of the stint so I was able to set my fast laps, it was still a lot of fun.

Hey Ricardo!
I had the same reaction as I heard the commentators say that Fan was having a battle and the camera stayed with the LM55! Then you could hear them comment more about the GT4 class the the LMP's
So @S_Bridge game me a link to the Silverstone comments with AJ and I left My comment....

It turns out that the camera guy had to go and there was nobody to take his place lol

I totally understand the frustration & agree that it would have been better if we could have seen more of the GT4 action on the live stream but I think we should remember the following.

Still, @Tom's commentary during it made me feel like listening a radio transmission, I actually got excited even though I didn't knew what was really going on.

Guys you have to remember that the broadcast crew, stewards, and even the series promoter are 100% volunteers and strive to do their best. This said, they are not paid professionals and you should not expect them to perform professional quality work. Great job to all involved and thanks for even HAVING a broadcast today. :cheers:

Trust me you didn't want to miss the battle between me and Fan_Lawless it was just as intense as Tom Brooks made it sound. :) except it was constant for 20 or 30 minutes.

What happened began with about 60 minutes left in the race, I was catching lawless, and you can see that in the stream if you know to look for it. I got to gap from several seconds down to within 2 seconds by the 40 minute mark. We pitted, and I came out ahead by 3-4 seconds. But Lawless was just a little bit faster! And he caught me with about 25-30 minutes to go!

After he caught me we were nose to tail and even side by side several times! We did this for several laps! Then with about 6-10 minutes left to go he finally got around me. And I made a mistake that cost me about a second. Lawless stayed equal to me for the final 3 or 4 laps and we finished about a second and a half apart. (On different laps) lol!

Great battle lots of fun. :) I thought it was for position lol. It was better than the BMW battle that they showed. We were contesting Apexs, our best laps were both 13.8s, but during the fight almost every lap was a 15.x lol

@FAN_Lawless is that what you saw? Lol

I was using my imagination and the battle you two had sounded intense cause even Tom was all excited about the battle :bowdown:
