Did some more tuning tonight and clocked a lap of 1:31.690.

Still haven't gotten the gearing perfect, still bouncing off the limiter in 6th.

Hi guys I was just finished editing and pressed save but for some reason it said that I had to log in again but it didn't let me so I tryed log in the different way didn't work maybe I didn't I didn't let it have a enough time to load, so some things I only things that are not going to be 100% correct so this what i can't look up. Time stock;1'48.??? (In arcade mode) These are thing are look up time with lots of tuning and trys:1'39.949
POWER:200
WEIGHT:985

And on my 1'39.949 time I crashed into the wall and for some reason I still finished with that time (I didn't cut road)I just smashed into the wall:dunce::dunce:

I'm having trouble with gearing right now. :ouch: Can't get the damn thing to work properly with the Full Customized Transmission, works better if I leave it stock to me. But I still have to reduce my time. Well, this is my first time doing a "serious" tune, so, I believe I'm doing okay :D

Okay, I've had my first serious attempt with the JCW....I was 9/10th passed out when I did the 1.39.

Without nitrous: 1'35.962.....still a little room for improvement. ;)

Give you a with nitrous time later.

*added bit* 1st run with nitrous: 1'32.350.

Had a run where I was .700 infront at T2, then messed up last sector and wound up .019 off. :ouch:

1.31's will be a snap, I want 1.30's. ;)

I'm sure I could go faster still, just ran out of time. I'm leaving today for Daytona to attend the Redneck High Holy Days. (Daytona 500)

However the Mini I built is a fun little snot. Some modification and I might put that one in my garage. First truly fun fwd vehicle I've driven since the Big Wheel I had as a kid.

I'm assuming your running full weight cause if you are I need to do some work with my low weight Mini to get the times down that low.

Camryfan, go in GME and look at the Mini JCW. ;) That's exactly how I'm racing it right now, with and without nitrous. :D

The problem is on the bottle I need to adjust my style a bit too much, thus hurting the times a bit. :ouch:

Yeas I assumed as much. My full weight reduced Mini can't keep up.

Well, adamgp took out the Mini challenge....congrats dude. 👍

Now, new month, new challenge.

2WD RALLY CHALLENGE!!

Track: Swiss Alps Normal (everyone knows this rally track).
Car: Any ROAD car (no race livery) that's allowed on dirt, must be 2WD (FF, FR, MR, RR), NO NITROUS ALLOWED!! 500HP LIMIT!!

Deadline: 31st March 2009.

I want to take my TRD Hilux off-road and see how it goes. So who's up for this one??

I might be joining the rally,
thought having just a 500 BHP limit doesn't feel right..
you should limit the minimum weight aswell to get some competitive times.

Leave me out of this. I'm not so much of a rally guy :indiff: Besides, having everyone to use different cars (for the most part) really leaves away the "skill comparison" idea. In my opinion, that is, and I'm sure most people can see that too.

Does it really matter Codename L?? It's a Spot Race, not a Tuner Cup, so if someone gets a better car I don't care. I want to see how my Hilux goes on dirt and will be racing as such and whoever beats me beats me. 👍

A Tuner Cup, as you mentioned mafia_boy, is still the same, although with a different name. Nobody is driving the "same" cars, as everyone has a different setup. But I've got my reasons, and I will stand by my point, so... Good luck, everyone!

No, it's not. You've completely misjudged the concept of the SRC. Tuner Cups are done with judges comparing all cars against each other and finding the best to drive overall. The SRC is just going all out, fastest time wins and whatever you bring to the table is what you use.

If we all do a single-car challenge as a SRC that's fine, but this time I threw a little variable into it, because there's a lot of RWD cars that can go well on dirt, some you may not even realise ('97 Camaro Z28 for example). Go have a look through the thread, we had a Le Mans Challenge where it was NSX vs RX7 vs Supra so there's nothing saying we can't bring anything to the table. Remember, I created this so we can challenge whoever we like, whenever we like, and at the moment I challenged ALL of you to this.

But I've got my reasons, and I will stand by my point, so... Good luck, everyone!
You can have your reasons for not entering and that's fine but you're standing by a misguided view so whatever. :indiff:

Oh wow, I really wanna see this RJ. I can't get the bloody thing to stick to tarmac, have not even considered trying it on dirt

They work bloody beautiful in the dirt.

There's not enough grip at the front on dirt to cause the snap oversteer issues that are present on tarmac, and there's plenty of weight on the tail so you get traction relatively easily.

Unfortunately I can't prove this as my PS2 needs the laser replaced/cranked up.

Jeez, RJ, I'd consider passing the hat around to get you a new one just to get your input on some of these things. How long has it been?

On a related note, I've had to urgently leave town for family reasons, so don't have access to PS2 or GT4, and won't be back for at least a week. Will PM a few people re promised reviews etc, but my life is in such an horrific state right now that I really can't promise anything, to anyone, for an unknown period. I am checking on here but am realistically restircted to a few minutes every day.

Love youse all, and will be keeping an eye on the results of this challenge.

I couldn't do a 2wd dirt track competition without trying an orange Dodge Charger. So I detuned the one from my garage to under 500hp (down from 633hp) and slapped some dirt tires on it. Otherwise I left my setup alone.

It's actually pretty good on dirt. Probably would be even faster if I focus more on driving and stop whistling the first 11 notes of "Dixie" and yelling YEEHAAAW!!! every time the car gets airborne. :dopey:

I'll post some times later.

I dunno, a month or maybe a little more? If I could find an eyeglass screwdriver I could make it last for a little while longer but yeah, I need to find a job. And get a new PS2. Mine has "seen enough to know that [it has] seen too much".

Actually I may try to go job hunting today... Doubt anywhere wants a longhair like me when there are plenty of more, ehrm, "upstanding"-appearing citizens.

Oh yeah, the RX-8 is decent if you can get the power down. As NA it has no guts until 5k and as supercharged it wants to loop itself. Still works decently.

Especially in this job market, they don't want anyone that doesn't fit their long term vision and is a poster child for that company. ;)

But apart from that, cut your hair hippie!! :P

Longhair-hippie-commie-scum reporting in here also. Try a call centre RJ, they tend to attract some interesting workers; longhairs, ferals, punks, and those with a 'great face for radio'.

@ senamic: I think this one goes on the honour system, but it would be a good idea to save the replay of the best time anyway, if only to analyse the lap.
