Spot Race: No-ABS / Ford Falcon XR8 @ Indy?

So the V8 Supercars are supposed to announce the race date for the 2013 Austin Texas race sometime this week, and I thought we would celebrate by running the Falcon V8SC at Indy w/no ABS next weekend.

Would need significant interest for this to move forward. Would also like to schedule it at a time when Australian members can participate, so it may be later at night for USA racers.
 
I'm down for this, what time/day :D. If it's good time for Aussies I will ask my mate to come along and maybe his friends who he races in their "RaceOnOZ" website.

I'm interested for sure if the date and time is right.. Indy seems like a cool track to run these beasts on.
 
Here's what I'm looking at. Unfortunately it'll be late for the Europe guys, but not much I can do about that.

This is the time the room will open. The race will start 1 hour later:

05:00PM MST (USA) UTC -7
08:00PM EDT (USA) UTC -4
10:00AM EST (Australia - Sydney) UTC +10
08:00AM WST (Australia - Perth) UTC +8
01:00AM BST (UK - London) UTC +1

Race is on Saturday, September 29, 2012

Might be able to go back 1 hour, but that means the Western Australia guys might have to set their alarm. :D
 
I'll ask Corey if he is up for it and ask him to ask the guys from their OZ league :).
 
So is the Falcon prohibited tuning or tuning allowed?
 
I've been testing this car and track combo and it's so much fun.. Come on people!
 
Dunno if I have the car, or if it will be suitable for England Timezone but I'll come along if I can.
 
Postponing this for a couple weeks. Need more interest than what we've got. Next weekend I'm moving and Bathurst is happening so it'll have to wait a couple weeks.

I did a quick test and got a 31.5 I believe.

Ok RT I understand on postponing it a couple weeks...

Me and Corey are testing it and it's very fun :D. My best time is a 1:30.082 but I know I have 3/4 more tenths in me based on my sector times and Coreys best lap is a 1:30.310.

So Mule you have to up your game :sly:.

Also RT what laps were you thinking of? :)

Think thats about what I ran, can't remember now.

Edit: not sure on laps, probably enough for ~45 minute race.
 
That would be around 30 laps then. Tyres barely wear out until lap 10 :D. (I did my PB on lap 6 or 7 of my run ;))
 
Tempted by this lads, if all goes well I should be right to race, the wife and I are expecting our first though, so things could change quite quickly.
 
Corey did say he has one of his Aussie friends interested and they practiced a while too. (Aussieman) He's one of the older, wiser ones who race in their league :).

Eh! He's the same age as me! I'm not that old :lol: And by wiser he mean's he's a bloody clown :p
 
I just call him old as he acts like Coreys (Enforcers) dad :p. He is like what 29, from what Corey tells me of the races etc Aussie sounds quite calm and wise :p.
 
I need to venture over to the spot races section more often, I would love to get in on this. I'm always down for a ABS'less race will keep an eye on this thread!!
