ok,...normal psy:1.06.888-4th place.
.......sim psy:1.09.979-11th place.
just had half hour to practice, will try tomorrow again.

In Pro Mode - 1'10.161

nige

Did some laps in pro mode but can't seem to get close to that top time, he's really good out of that second hairpin to the left, and again at the very fast right after the tunnel, always pulls away from me at both places. Best I could manage was a 1'09.555, its there in the rankings just barely in the 3rd spot. Have to try again tomorrow, this is a hard one to put it all together in one lap lol.

I see you using S2 or S1,not S3 for example,so that you can't relly compare the time to others?

Oh you mean in the online Rankings? I'm not trying to compare with the others, I use S2's mainly because that was the standard tyres in GT4 whenever you bought a car career mode and have stuck with it for now.

The laps I do on Eiger is purely to compare my cars with each other, I'm not to worried about my rankings, my times only end up on the rankings because I am online all the time. Although I do check from time to time if anyone beat my time with the same settings, if they did I will give it another go.

If you check my GTR time it was done well before this thread was made.

Updated the first post.

Fast times indeed.👍

And I watched Z's pro and spyrrari's standard run.

Great driving,cheers guys.

Edit:Improved my pro laptime 1'10.850,

New best in Standard Mode - 1'07.151

nige

Found a little more time in my run. Ended up with a 1.11.108 pro, DFP, no aids.

Had a go at this last night on pro physics, best i managed was a 1'09.491 using the G25, just scraped ahead of z06fun for 3rd place in the rankings (sorry z06fun).

I reviewed your run,Duratec,great lap.

Always good to see with each version of GT new fast drivers pop up.👍

Done a few laps in pro mode tonight using the sixaxis and got it down to 1'10.550, about 22 on the online boards. Pretty pleased but still a bit away from the real fast boys.

Tried this some more but still can't seem to put it all together and reach that top time :banghead:. Made a small improvement down to 1'09.313. Replay is up there this time, not sure why it didn't save on my previous attempt.
If nothing else, all this practice with this car has forced me to be better at trail braking lol.

Thanks sjaak68, slight improvement for me also 1'09.393

Another great lap from you z06fun, good stuff 👍. I've had a few replays not upload for some reason, get some error message pop up, no idea what it says.

1'10.167 - 18th in rankings :/ (pro physics).
Using SIXIS - I could improve little bit by less sliding, but its quite hard ;)

Running leaderboard in post 1 is updated.

I couldn't leave it just like that - 1'10.044 :)

My time in pro mode: 1'11.004

rank 41, with G25 wheel and all aids off.

Had another crack this morning managed to shave a bit more off, 1'09.205 (pro physics).👍

Hadn't give this car much time before this, getting quite attached to it now :).

Leaderboard updated,again great times 👍

Welcome to the Planet,roflator.

Thanks! It's great to be here - been lurking for several years on these forums. Prologue online goodness and anticipation of GT5 are the things that made me register finally.

Hopefully there will be many good and fair races against the fellow gran turismo fans. For now online races are too much of a wild wild west so I prefer running arcade time trials. Hope to participate also on discussions related to gran turismo and racing in general.

The best I can manage is a 1:12.314 :ouch:

S3 Tyres, SIXAXIS, Pro physics.

I have the last part of the track nailed but I can't seem to find the fastest line through the series of hairpins leading upto the bridge, Should I be drifting round some of these?

Any tips much appreciated as I have no PSN Access.

Some of those times are unbelievable!

Dont drift if it if you can manage. If you can get on the internet, view the top times and watch their lines, gear selection, etc. Thats what helped me out.

I would try to avoid drifting(near impossible with S3 tires) as much as possible. Try to see the next corners in your mind and drive as straight lines as possible. Old mantra, slow in, fast out works wonders here. One can loose a lot time sliding around those corners compared to driving with proper speed with minimal grip loss and straight lines.

Or you could just save some top10 time replay from rankings and load it as a ghost or see it as replay.

edit, now in stereo :)

A kind forum member sent me some replays so I guess I will just have to study them and see what they do different!

Awesome times coming up here. I'm very much struggling to keep up with the front-runners. Managed to get my time down to 1'09.415.. just a mere .015 behind 'roflator' (welcome aboard). Gave the car a spin with faux physics and managed 1'07.128, nearly an entire second behind the fastest time. Will try that one a little later and see if I can't crack the second barrier. :scared:

New time for me: 1'09.041 :)

The keyword there being 'gear selection' for me anyway.

Drifting's not gonna do you any favours but getting the tail out slightly around some of the tighter corners certainly helps as long as you can straighten up early enough to get good traction on the exit.
