SRF GT-MES Season 10 | Finished

Nils.jpg

4th member of GT-MES Hall of Fame is 3-time champion and one of the most experienced drivers, Nils, also known as PSN-Nils, from Germany.

Nils has record for most titles in in Lower Class, winning 2 in Gr4, and 1 in Gr3. Even though Nils has raced in Lower Class almost every season, he has fought some big names on track.

Reacting to his election, Nils said: ''This is an incredible honor to me, thank you so much for it! The GT-MES was my first full time league in the PS4 era when I first joined in summer 2018 and I'd never have expected to come this far back then. It's more than just a pleasure to go racing in this series, from back in 2018 up until today!''

Nils-2.jpg

Nils entered Season 2 with Gr4 Honda, from start, he dominated the class. After winning in his debut in Round 1, he went to win 5 more races that season, only not winning those 2 races he missed, and even though it was mathematicly still possible to lose title in Le Mans, there was no question who would be the champion in the end. He was so clearly ahead of everyone, he only had 1 ontrack overtake all season, and that too only because he had stopped early.

For Season 3, Nils stayed with Honda, that moved up to new Gr2 class, and teamed up with fellow reigining GT-MES champion sota59. After epic battle between Honda-drivers, German won in his homerace in Round 1, and Honda-drivers would back and fourth from win to win all season. But it became clear that his teammate sota59 adjusted to the car better, Nils making race costing errors, biggest of them all in Round 7, crashing from lead, and letting his teammate to take second win in a row, and control of the title-fight. But it was all still to play for in Le Mans, and once again, we saw epic battle for the win, but sadly Nils had to retire, and lost the title.

Season 4 Nils made shocking decision to move down to Lower Class, after just only one season, and entered with BMW. In Round 1 he dominated, once again winning his homerace, but as reigning Gr3-champion xZePhyR96x made his season debut next weekend, all changed. Even though Nils was not pacewise far off, his rivals Audi dominated in fuel economy. Even after lucky win in Barcelona, gap going between them was large. Nils was able to take his 3rd win of the season in Fuji, after xZePhyR96x crashed out, leaving Nils door wide open for title going in to Le Mans Finale, with double points in offer. But German was once again handicapped by his car, and it became quite clear, this would not be his time.

Nils went total different direction with his car choice in Season 5, signing with Mazda in Gr3. All his rivals now in Top Class, German was only driver in his class with past experience in GT-MES. Massive favorite was already beaten in Round 1 by thunder-pigeon, next weekend he got beaten by Road2FURY. This continued all season, experience got him to 2nd place each weekend, but could not win a race. Even his teammate farin79 won 2 races with Mazda. Incredibly, going in to Le Mans, Nils was championship leader, but he was facing must win situation and all those podium each weekend had made his car heavy due weight penalties. And in the end, he was not even close to getting his car even on podium, and finished 3rd in standings. 4 of those rookies in his class will be announced as HoF-drivers coming weeks.

Season 6, Gr3 became once again new Top Class, but Nils rather decided to enter to Gr4 with Alfa Romeo. Nils would yet again get beaten in Round 1 by thunder-pigeon, now reigning champion, and he would be seeking for wins all the way until Round 4, after winning in Kyoto, ending his 11 race long win drought. He would again win in Round 7, and go to Le Mans Finale as championship leader, but fell short yet again, and title went to thunder-pigeon.

Season 7 he returned to Honda in Gr4, in car that had won him his only title all the way in Season 2. There was lack of enteries in Gr4, and even though GTS_BOCA_SAFFA and Road2FURY beat him for win in Round 2 and 7, only contender for title was Aston Martin entry driven by sota59 and jonimestari91. But they could not match his pace, and in Le Mans Finale, he could easily take finaly his 2nd title.

Nils made suprising move to Renault for next season, but even after winning in Round 3, it was appearant motivation was not there, and he made silly mistakes and missed races.

Gr3 became new Lower Class as Gr2 returned in Season 9, and Nils signed up with Ferrari. There was question marks over his motivation once again, but he showed some pace, collected some important podiums, but going in to Round 7, he had started to look like title outsider, needing back to back wins in last 2 races to even think about title. In Laguna Seca as title favorites struggled with heavy cars, German could win the race quite easily, and door opened for 3rd title. Going in to Le Mans, Nils would have to win the race, and take fastest lap to win the title, and he did. Unchallenged from start, and fastest lap meant that after the race he was announched as 3-time champion.

Round-2.jpg

Season continues in USA!

After epic start to the season in Nurburgring, drama from start to finish with epic field of drivers, we go to Laguna Seca in USA.
Technical track, with very little margin for error, you can expect more epic moments. Tyres proved to be big part of the race, as many struggled during their mandatory stint on mediums, and with tyre expected to major factor this weekend, tactics will be interesting.

Gr2

Lexus was heavy favorite going in to Round 1, and it was no surprise when they crossed the line 1-2. GTS_BOCA_SAFFA only just secured the pole position, and was challenged for the lead in start, but early push in the opening laps got him safe lead, what he kept until the end. His teammate GTS_BOCA_GIAMP even dropped low as 5th in opening laps, but couple overtakes got him back to third before pitstop. After solid stint in mediums, he get to go back on to softs, and chase second place. He eventually made up the gap, and after applying pressure, moved to second place lap to go in the race. Both cars got significant height added, but they are confident after testing, and hoping to see both cars on podium again.

Honda headed to Round 1 cautious, but left maybe even disappointed after running second most of the race, even though they got car to third, that was the target going in. sota59 moved to third and eventually to second place in opening stint on softs, and kept good pace on second stint, while jonimestari91 had moved from 6th to 4th while running on mediums. Last stint sota59 had to switch on mediums, and struggled. He defended his position couple laps, waiting his teammate to also join the battle, but eventually made mistake, and dropped from second to fourth going in to last lap. jonimestari91 ran out of laps, but secured important podium for the team. Team leader sota59: ''We are happy to get the podium we were hoping for, and even suprised how fast we were, so losing important points so late is disappointing. Going in to Laguna Seca we are very cautious, let see what happens, podium again would be massive.''

Nissan had some positives from Germany, but finishing 5th and 6th is clear disappointment. Reigning Gr2 champion G4 Rotary almost got pole position, and challenged for lead in start, but struggled on medium in opening stint. Contact while defending position, he got minor damage, and his struggles got even worse, and in short time dropped from second to sixth. TaZZ_1990 made his way to third in start, but problem he had already last season with his controller caused him to lose control of the car, and crashed. G4 Rotary showed some good pace in softs later in the race, and set fastest lap, but was unable to join podium fight. TaZZ_1990 expects to struggle again with his controller this weekend, even with weight relive, but G4 Rotary who won in Laguna Seca last season, knows he has pace there.

Gr3

Audi went to Germany as favorites with reigning Gr3-champion Nils. Nils went to win his 5th race in his home race after securing pole position, but it was the rookie teammate Ryslan Zharinov in other Audi that was start of the race. He took the lead after opening pitstops, and lead the most race, but was caught out by his aggressive tactic, running out of fuel couple corners from finish. He was still able to deliver Audi 1-2 finish, and expect to take that win this weekend. His teammate Nils is bit more cautious: ''I don't think we'll be in fight for the win this weekend since there's a lot ballast weight in our car compared to the others. However, Laguna Seca is a very difficult track so the most important thing is keep the car on the track. I'm hope I can at least keep up with some other cars and don't make too many mistakes this race''

McLaren secured Cosmix Esport deal just couple days before the race, and cars just arrived from paint job to circuit in time. It was all worth it, when CSX_WiseGuy took podium, even after late mistake, and CSX_Eagle battled to 4th from last place. Potential is there for both cars, dont be surprised to see both cars on podium.

BMW had bit bigger hopes for their return, but osully14 got car home P5 even after struggles in new car, and brake-problem. He is hoping to sneak on the podium this weekend. daree1337 got engine damage after unlucky accident last weekend, and several mistakes hurt him even more, he is looking to improve in Laguna Seca.

Porsche's season did not start how they had planned. RLH_Wesley99 had to retire even before the start due technical problems, and Road2FURY did not have the pace, having to settle for 6th. Will be interesting to see if fortunes change.

Mercedes another team hoping this to change this weekend. Emilius73 had to retire due technical problem, but not before being in couple accidents, and earning himself warning. GBM_amuda74 was caught out when getting lappen, getting minor damage, and then couple mistakes took him out of middle field fights. Both drivers are far more optimistic going in to Laguna Seca, they will be ones to watch out for.

xZePhyR96x.jpg

5th GT-MES Hall of Fame-driver is maybe best of them all, xZePhyR96x (VLX_Nova9).
4-time champion, several wins, has dominated every HoF-driver on his way to glory.

xZePhyR96x commented:
''It's a great honour to be added to the GT-MES Hall of Fame, thank you. Season 3 stands out as an instant classic to me, my personal battles with VitmnG, particularly at Dragon Trail Seaside, swapping places many times throughout the race and having a hard fought season throughout. Season 7 stands out also for the battle between myself and the CSX drivers, also great competition throughout that season. Then finally my personal best season, season 6, not sure what it was about that track and car combination but something clicked right from Bathurst at night to the season finale, resulting in my best scoring season to date.
Again thank you for this honour and continued good luck to the league''

xZePhyR96x-2.jpg

xZePhyR96x made his debut in Season 3 Round 3 with his favorite car, Subaru, in Lower Class, Gr3. He won that race easily, and next weekend he faced bit more challenge, but again won race quite easily. Round 5 in Dragon Trail will be remembered as one of the best head to head battles ever. He went to race with clearly heaviest car, and looked like VQS-VitmnG was going to edge out, but xZePhyR96x kept coming, and they traded overtakes lap after lap, and finally xZePhyR96x took his 3rd win in a row. Pair of second places followed, and he headed to Le Mans Finale with double points in offer with good lead. His rival VQS_VitmnG took the win, but second place was enough for xZePhyR96x to take the title by 3 points.

Next season he returned to Gr3 with Audi, and after missing Round 1, he made his season debut in Red Bull Ring, and took the win ahead of Nils. He would go on to win next 2 races as well, not so easy, having to do some actual racing, especially in Round 4 in Maggiore, but his cars fuel economy gave him solid edge. Missing Round 5, his second one that season gave a opportunity for Nils cut the gap in championship, but xZePhyR96x returned with a dominant victory in Round 6. Pressure was off in Fuji, and small error cost him victory, and gave again Nils chance to get some extra points. He headed to Le Mans with small point advantage, but needed to beat Nils to win the title. And he so he did, dominant performance again from him and the car, 5th win of the season, and 2nd title was his.

Näyttökuva (601).png

Season 5 was time for challenge. Move up to Top Class for the first time, and change to Gr2, car he was not so experienced. That did not matter, he dominated first 2 races, beating guys like VQS_VitmnG in other Nissan, his former rival, by massive margin. He missed Round 3, but returned in Autopolis, one of his favorite tracks, and once again took dominant victory. All the victories had made his car much heaver than his rivals, and he could not challenge for victories in next 2 races. He still hold big lead over others, but missing race yet again gave his rivals chance to gain some important points ahead of the Le Mans Finale. 4-way title fight was going to be pretty much winner takes all, xZePhyR96x had to atleast beat VQS_VitmnG and jonimestari91 to take his 3rd straight title. He took the early lead but was overtaken quickly, and then came 2 big mistakes, that took him out of the battle, and then retirement. He had collapsed from first to 4th in 1 hour, sota59 taking the title.

Season 6 saw positive rule change, Top Class changing to Gr3 cars, and Subaru returning. xZePhyR96x made his season debut in Round 2, and took special victory in Mount Panorama night-race. His performance was absolute masterclass, and he would continue that by winning the next 3 races also with dominance. Going in to Le Mans Finale, it was pretty clear who was going to become champion, and once xZePhyR96x took his 5th win of the season with incredible drive, he was 3-times GT-MES champion, and now also champion in Top-Class.

He returned in Season 7 again in Subaru. He took victory in Round 1 after close battle, but as season continued only challenger for title would be farin79. Once again couple missed races, and getting beaten by farin79 in Round 5 left the door open going in to Le Mans. But safe drive to finish second place ahead of his rival meant 2nd title in a row, 4th overall.

VQS_VitmnG.jpg

6th GT-MES Hall of Fame -driver is VQS_VitmnG from UK.

He is one of the best drivers we have seen, but has never won a title, always coming short in the end.

VQS_VitmnG commented: ''I feel privileged. Obviously I have some unfinished business with this league having not quite managed to win the title in my 4 attempts. I had some really fun races over the seasons and I will be back for another crack soon''

VQS_VitmnG-2.jpg

VQS_VitmnG made his debut in Round 4 in Season 3, but it was next race in Dragon Trail that he made headlines, after having massive battle with xZePhyR96x for the win, but VQS_VitmnG had to settle for second. First win finaly came in Round 7 after clean solid drive, buying himself small title shot going in to Le Mans Finale. VQS_VitmnG did take the win and max points, but his rival xZePhyR96x did enough to win the title.

After creating his name as top driver, he moved up to Top Class in Gr2 Nissan. He made his season debut in Round 2 in Red Bull Ring, and after some early battles, he was able to start his season with a win. Next race he did not have the pace for the win, but was able to get second place, when rivals fell away. VQS_VitmnG won the next 2 races quite easily, but was denied by his titlerival sota59 in Round 6. He returned winning ways in Round 7 in Fuji, and went to Le Mans Finale this time with good points lead. But after crashing out early in the race, his title fight was over, and sota59 would go home with the title.

Näyttökuva (606).png

He returned to Nissan next season, but was joined by his former rival xZePhyR96x. He was simply outclassed by his teammate in Round 1, and small error looked to cost him even more points, but was able to overtake jonimestari91 for the second place in last corner. Things did not get any easier in Round 2, xZePhyR96x dominated again, and sota59 also was able to beat him after great fight. When his teammate was missing Round 3, it was VQS_VitmnG's time to take spotlight, but instead got dominated by Honda-drivers. He took a break, and returned in Round 5 with a bang. Big overtake and smart tactics finaly got him his first win of the season, and hopes of title came alive. Next weekend late crash cost him big points again, but he bounced back with a clean drive in Dragon Trail, and won. Thanks to those points, he again headed to Le Mans Finale with good chances. Beat other 3 title-rivals, and title is yours. But again, VQS_VitmnG would crash out early, and another title was lost.

VQS_VitmnG returned in Season 9, entering in to Gr2 with Honda, and rumours that he was better than ever became clear when he dominated Round 1. After missing Round 2, he returned in Red Bull Ring, but wet-weather did not suit him, and was only just on podium in the end. Close race in Spa next weekend ended in victory, but missing Round 5 gave rivals chance to cut the gap in points. Clean drive in Round 6 came with another win, but missing his 3rd race of the season, just before Le Mans Finale was blow. Thanks to consistancy and point system, VQS_VitmnG headed to Le Mans with championship lead, and very good chances of that first title. But setup error quickly started to cost him as race went along, and finishing far below the podium cost him title yet again.

Round-3.jpg

We go to Japan!

After madness in Laguna Seca, we continue our trip in Japan, before returning Europe.
Traffic was the major factor in Laguna Seca, this weekend that should be less of a problem, but tire wear should increase the tactical game, and weight penalties also will start to take an effect.

Gr2

Honda showed some good speed in Round 1, and that continued in Round 2 as sota59 took the victory. He started on pole, but medium tyres at start and traffic problems cost him time and positions. He fought back, and finally took the lead back in final stint. In other car jonimestari91 can to the qualifying with no real experience in circuit, and things got harder when he had to start last, behind Gr3's, after technical problems. He had to settle for 5th place, but lap times in the end lap times were incredible considering his lack of experience . Team boss sota59 commented teams chances going in to Fuji: ''We have quite significant experience from Fuji, and testing been good. We have tactics ready, and race should be close one, as weight penalties now spread around the field. Getting at least one of the cars on podium in the aim. ''

Lexus was team to beat in Germany as expected, and kept momentum going in Laguna Seca. GTS_BOCA_GIAMP was fighting for the victory after his teammate GTS_BOCA_SAFFA, who himself finished 4th, let him pass early in the race. In the end Italian had to settle for second place, but that was enough for him to take championship lead. Team has not been able to test as much as they would have liked before this weekends race, due technical problems, but they are expecting to fight again at least for podiums.

Nissan had difficult start for the season, but small improvements were made in Laguna Seca. G4 Rotary once again just missed the pole position, but was able to take the lead on faster tires after couple of laps. He got undercut after first round of pitstops, but his strategy got him back to the lead later on the race. In the end though he had to go for splash and dash, and finished third. Surely it is time for win in Japan? TaZZ_1990 could not take part in Laguna Seca after technical problems, and Fuji also looks unlikely.

Gr3

Porsche had difficult start to the title defence with new line up, but hit the jackpot in USA. RLH_Wesley99 had to abort the start in Round 1 due technical problems, but fixed the problems, got pole, and kept it clean in start. Small error cost him the lead before first round of pitstops, but the leaders met again in last stint, and Dutchman was able to pressure his rival to mistake, and took the lead, and the win. Road2FURY had to miss the race due medical issue, but we should see both drivers again this week on track.

BMW was another team struggling in Germany, but got it together. osully14 struggled with setup and brakes in Round 1, but all those sorted, he was able to fight for in USA. He took the lead in first stint, and after pitstops settled in for last stint, he found himself still on top. But when lapping struggling cars, and getting lapped by top class, he made couple mistakes, and had to finish second. He likes the Fuji layout, so expect him to be in top places again. His teammate daree1337 struggled on first race, and that continued this weekend, but rather than taking weight relieve for future races, he decided to retire the car.

McLaren continued their good form, CSX_WiseGuy taking the third place yet again, after clean drive, when others spun out. His teammate CSX_Eagle could not start the race due technical problems. Can CSX_WiseGuy keep the podiums coming, even with extra weight? And can CSX_Eagle bounce back with light car?

Audi swept the Round 1 honors, and looked like surprise rookie Ryslan Zharinov was again on podium places, but he spun around, and finished 4th in the end. Winner in Germany, Nils, struggled, and some unlucky accidents hurt him even more, but even after low 6th place, he still leads championship. You can expect him to bounce back, and with Ryslan hungry for that victory he missed out on.

Mercedes improved from season opener, as Emilius73 kept it clean, no technical problems, and finished solid 5th place. GBM_Amuda74 was surprise of the qualifying, but spun out.

jonimestari91.jpg

7th SRF GT-MES member is jonimestari91 (jonirune91) from Finland.

He is third all time in races started, but also holds records the record for most races without championship.

(Stats before S10)

jonimestari91-2.jpg

jonimestari91 would enter in to Season 4 with quite little experience, but with some history from other games. He teamed up with his friend sota59 in Honda in Gr2 class, and was showing good pace from the start, but sadly crash took him out of contention. Next round he finished impressive 3rd, and Round 3 in Saint Croux, he kept it clean, and was able to take his first ever win. Rest of the season he was never really in contention, but helped his team and teammate to double titles.

He would make his breakthrough next season. Season started with epic battle for second in Round 1, eventually got overtaken by VQS_VitmnG in last corner. Next race he was crashed out in start, but Round 3 saw better luck, when jonimestari91 was dominating the race with his teammate, eventually though he lost out, and finished second. After hard Round 4, he headed to Red Bull Ring as one of the favorites. He jumped in to second at the start, while his teammate holded up rivals behind him. Eventually bold strategy did work out, but he got some big points. Next race in Barcelona was now or never, and when he got in to 1-2 lead with his teammate, he could just drive to the finish, and take the win. jonimestari91 was now effectively teams sole contender for the title, and was under huge pressure to perform in Round 7. Win in his reach, he made mistake, but still ended up taking big points. Going in to Le Mans, it was must win scenario for the title, and xZePhyR96x would have to finish 3rd. He got past him at the opening laps, but could not match his teammates pace in front, and would lose the title to his teammate.

Näyttökuva (614).png

Next season Gr3 became new top class, and jonimestari91 and sota59 would move to Nissan. Pair never adjusted to the car, and his best result that season would be second place from chaotic Mount Panorama-night race. He would eventually finish 4th in championship.

In Season 7, neither he or his teammate would originaly enter the season, but midseason he would enter Gr4-class with his teammate, sharing the Aston Martin. Pair of wins from his teammate had gotten them to title fight, but when jonimestari91 took the car for next races, he would struggle to keep up with his rivals. In Le Mans, sota59 would fail to beat Nils, and they finished 2nd in standings.

Season 8, he would enter again with his own car, sota59 again in other Audi Gr3, car that jonimestari91 had liked when testing. He would take shocking Round 1 win, when leader Kobr4K_21 retired in last lap. Awfull races in Suzuka and Sardegna followed, and missed Round 4 caused season to look hopeless after positive start, but in return to Saint Croux, jonimestari91 would head home dominatant 1-2 for the team, and second places next 2 races made him real championship contender. Going in to Le Mans, he again must win the race, and Kobr4K_21 must finish 3rd. Race was close one, and when it was time to strike with strategy, jonimestari91 made critical mistake, and finished behind his teammate, and eventual champion Kobr4K_21.

Season 9 saw return of Gr2 class, where jonimestari91 had done well in past. Lexus-man would struggle in Round 1, but would win next weekend in Dragon Trail. Rainy Red Bull Ring did not suit him, and missed the Round 4. Next weekend though, he would impress, finishing solid second behind his teammate in Sardegna, but struggled again next race. Going in to Le Mans, he was out of the title fight, focusing instead on his teammate, who had marginal chance. They would eventually miss out on win after epic battle againts eventual champion G4 Rotary.

thunder-pigeon.jpg

8th driver in SRF GT-MES Hall of Fame is 2x champion thunder-pigeon!

British driver won title in both of his seasons in GT-MES.

thunder-pigeon: "Thanks for the Hall of Fame entry. It's a major surprise and honor as I'm nowhere near the quality of the MES legends!"

thunder-pigeon-2.jpg

thunder-pigeon entered in Season 5 to Lower Class Gr3 with BMW, with his friend Doc. Win in Round 1 was big shock, beating heavy favorite Nils. Next weekend he colided with his teammate, but was able to win again in Round 3 in Fuji. Another start crash in Round 4 put pressure on him going in to second half of the season, but he started to pull home consistant results. Going in to Le Mans, he was one of the favorites, and ultimately second place gave him the title.

Rather than staying in Gr3, when it became new top class, he moved to returning Gr4-class, to drive the famous Honda with his teammate Doc. Season started again with a win, and followed by pair of impressive second places. Another win from Dragon Trail was to come, but struggles in Kyoto, and couple missed races meant, he would go to Le Mans Finale, behind his rival Nils in points. That did not matter, when he crossed the line to take victory, and his second title.

Round-4.jpg

Back to Europe

After trip to North America and Asia, we return to Europe for rest of the season, and we go first to Italy. Legendary circuit Monza makes its return to GT-MES first time since Season 2. Monza is known for its long straights, and legendary corners. Drivers must find balance of top speed on straights, and speed in corners.
Many of the drivers have received now weight penalties for their performances, and now as we are entering mid season, many are looking for that season defining result. Some can already confirm themselves as title contenders with win or podium, on Road to Le Mans Finale.

Gr2

Honda continued their form in their homerace in Japan, by taking dominant 1-2 victory, after aggresive 3-stop strategy. They took 1-2 already in the qualifying, with both starting on mediums, sota59 quickly gave up the lead for jonimestari91, before dropping all they way to 5th place, but only after big battles, allowing his teammate to take commanding lead. After race settled in, Honda's tactic paid off, giving them 1-2, and they could cruise home, jonimestari91 taking his first win of the season. Commenting on teams objectives going in to Monza, sota59 said: ''We are in great position currently, and for both drivers title hopes, another podium this point of the season would be massive, so goal has to be having both cars on podium when race ends''

Nissan is slowly starting to turn their season around, but now is in need of big result. G4 Rotary took another podium, fine tuning his strategy from Laguna Seca. Now he has maybe best chance all season, to take that victory, but he does not sound as optimistic: ''For Monza I'm not expecting anything great. Going to need some setup work to be competitive because we were slow on straights at Fuji''.
Big news ahead of Round 4 is that TaZZ_1990 pulls out from the series, due ongoing technical issues. His replacement yet to be confirmed, but 2nd Nissan, with no weight penalties could be massive factor.

Lexus was confirmed already pre-season to miss Round 4, and after both cars struggling last weekend, they surely are out of Manufacturers-battle, but also under big pressure in drivers championship when they return.

Gr3

Audi seems to be on control of Gr3-class at the moment. Ryslan Zharinov missed out on the win in Round 1, after running out of fuel in last lap, he though managed to get second place in the end, and now finally got the win he deserved in Fuji, after dominant performance. His teammate Nils was who received the win in Round 1, now was they guy in second, making it second 1-2 victory for the team. Nils commented on his chances in Monza: ''Another Podium would be really nice but I don't know if there's a chance to keep up this weekend so I'd be happy with a Top 5 result. Monza is a really fast circuit and slipstream will be an important factor I believe. However, the most important thing is not to mess uo the qualifying again like it happened the last two weekends to get a good start''

Porsche continued their improvement, RLH_Wesley99 taking podium again. Dutchman hopes to be on podium again this weekend. Big question is, will his teammate Road2FURY appear? He could challenge for the podium.

Mercedes got good points from Japan, with Emilius73 finishing 4th, and GBM_amuda74 getting 5th place. They need to improve their consistansy, to make that final step for the podium. GBM_amuda74 set to miss next 2 races, replacement driver set to take his place.

BMW had awfull luck in Japan. osully14 was looking for another podium, and possibly fight for the win, but could not make the start due technical issues. His teammate daree1337 also suffered problems, having to retire shortly after the start. Both drivers hoping for better luck.

McLaren suffered big blow, with CSX_Eagle failing to show up to the race, and CSX_WiseGuy having technical problems before the race.

Road2FURY.jpg

9th driver selected to SRF GT-MES Hall of Fame is Road2FURY from Australia, Season 8 Gr4-champion.
After being close couple times, he became record holder, for most races before championship, with 26.

''Driving flatout 5 AM in the morning is not easy as it looks'' - Road2FURY

Road2FURY-2.jpg

Road2FURY entered to Season 5, going with Audi in Gr3. He already won his first ever race in Round 2, defending from favorite Nils in Interlagos. He managed to get two more podiums next couple weekends, and those points got him to Le Mans Finale, with shot for the title. He would go on to win the race, his second win of the season, but that was not enough, as thunder-pigeon crossed the line second, and won the title, leaving Road2FURY 2 points off the title.

Next season Australian moved up to Top Class, by staying in gr3, but moved to Mercedes. After epic fight againts CSX_Eagle, he won in the Round 1, and took championship lead. Rest of the season would be diffucult, second places from Round 3 and Round 6 being only podiums rest of the season. He had mathematical chance for title in Le Mans, but would fail to get on the podium, when championship leader xZePhyR96x won both the race, and championship. Road2FURY would finish 3rd in standings.

For Season 7, he moved down to Gr4 class, signing with legendary Honda. Sadly he would only race 3 times that season, but when he did, he was competetive, 2 second places, and a win in his homerace.

Season 8, he would stay in Honda in Gr4, and started season with a bang, by winning Round 1 dominant fashion, and next weekend he beat Benjeet after close fight, winning second race in a row. Other than third place in Sardegna, he never finished lower than second all season, and also won his third race of the season, in Saint Croux. He went to Le Mans Finale with good lead, and finaly clinched the title with win there aswell.

Season 9 he returned to Audi, when Gr3 became new Lower Class, but 4th place in Round 1 would be his only race that season.

10th driver in SRF GT-MES Hall of Fame is farin79 from Germany.
He is one of the best drivers ever, to not have championship under his name.

He reacted to his election: ''Oh what an honor, thank you! Even though i was never a champion (Season 9 was close), i always had fun in the GT-MES. Maybe i'll beck back next season, if Porsche needs me ;) ''

farin79-2.jpg

farin79 entered to Lower Class in Season 5, with Mazda Gr3, and made his debut in Round 2. He did not really rise eyebrows with his speed, but when he won in difficult Autopolis in Round 4, with masterclass tactical move, name farin79 would be remembered. Round 6 in Barcelona, he did it again, came from out of nowhere, and won the race. His consitancy eventually got him to Le Mans with a title shot, but it was going to be difficult. He eventually finished sixth in the race, and dropped to 4th in final standings, thunder-pigeon taking the title.

Season 6, he teamed up with TaZZ_1990, moved down to new Gr4-class, with Audi. He took amazing win in chaotic night race in Mount Panorama, but car was not good. Even with midseason BoP-change to help them out, Audi could not fight againts top guys. Still, farin79 took 3 second places to add to his win, and headed to Le Mans with a title shot. But once again, his car was unable to fight the better cars, and German had to yet again settle for 4th position in standings, when thunder-pigeon won the title, yet again.

Season 7, farin79 and TaZZ_1990 had enough of Gr4, and moved to Top Class, and signed with Porsche, Gr3 car known to be good. They were not as fast as the top guys, but they were by far the most consitent, and when oppotunities came, they were there to take them. farin79 took a win in Round 2, then in Round 5 he beat xZePhyR96x for the win, and finaly took win in Mount Panorama yet again. Pair of second places, he went to Le Mans with great title shot. Sadly, xZePhyR96x finished front of him, took the title, and farin79 had to settle for second in standings.

Season 8, pair stayed in Porsche, and farin79 started season with great with pair of podiums. But shocking race in Sardegna followed, then by missed race, and then by DNF, after leading early. Win in Spa finaly came, and with thoise points, he headed to Le Mans Finale with outside shot. But he struggled again, and had to settle for 4th in standings.

farin79 stayed in Porsche for Season 9, and it would be his best season yet. Second place in season debut, then won in rainy Red Bull Ring, podium in Spa, another win, this time in Sardegna, circuit he struggled badly last season, then he followed up that with another second place in Fuji. farin79 now headed to Le Mans Finale with tiny championship lead, but it would be 4-way must-win battle. This would be his best ever race in Le Mans, but he could not match the eventual winner, and champion Nils, and he would have to settle for 2nd place in standings.

Red Bull Ring for Round 5!

We go to Austria, Red Bull Ring next. Heavy braking zones, straights.... Will be interesting!
Couple drivers have now made their position as championship contenders as solid, while some still try to jump on the train, and success ballast is starting to even out, making the race really interesting.

Gr2

Honda could not take the win in Monza after couple unlucky accidents, but left with even bigger lead in Manufacturers Standings. sota59 fought for lead from start, fell off for couple laps, but with teammate jonimestari91 holding back, he was able to get back on it, and quickly caught the leader, and made move for the lead. Sadly Gr3 car front of him spun out, taking sota59 with him. After pitstops jonimestari91 challenged for the lead, and eventually made the move, but when pushing with fastest soft tyres, he made a mistake, and dropped to third. sota59 caught leader once again, but small accident between them, and having to go for medium in the end took him out of the fight. Both cars got on the podium in the end though, increasing their championship lead, and both drivers seem to be in championship fight, as we get closer to Le Mans. sota59 commented on teams chances this weekend: ''Weight ballast surely has taken us out of battle for win, but we will be there, trying to get one car on podium''

Nissan is back winning ways after tough start to season, as G4 Rotary took his first win of the season, proving why he is deserving champion, and capable to defend his title. Started on pole, shortly lost the lead, but critical stint on medium middle of the race, while saving fuel, meant rivals could not challenge him last part of the race, and could take fastest lap as well. Win to add his 2 podiums from previous races has put him in good position for rest of the season. About this weekends race, G4 Rotary said: ''I usually run well at Red Bull Ring but the two Lexus are very light. Think its going to be a battle to get onto the podium.'' Problems with other Nissan continues, now de-luck4 in the car, he failed to start the race in Monza. He and the team is hoping for better luck this weekend.

Lexus pair missed last weekends race, but are back for rest of the season. Missing the race is huge blow in Manufacturers Championship, but point system keeps them right in drivers battle still, but bit under pressure. GTS_BOCA_SAFFA won the Round 1, but has since failed to reach podium, while GTS_BOCA_GIAMP is looking for that first win. Due weight ballast they are favorites going in to the race, so watch out from them.

Gr3

BMW has had struggles this season, but bounced back with a win. osully14 took his first ever win, when he kept the lead after starting from pole, and and stayed calm under pressure, to take win, in the end quite easily. He is looking good to fight for another win this weekend in Red Bull Ring. daree1337 showed some potential pace wise, but mistakes took him out of the group again, and finished 8th. Will he make his name this weekend?

McLaren drivers keep impressing, CSX_Eagle taking second place in Monza. Season 1 champion did not have it easy, having to make several overtakes early laps. He even made a move for the lead, but out braked himself. CSX_WiseGuy took couple of podium start of the season, but struggled badly in Monza, finishing 7th. McLaren not in manufacturers fight, but drivers could take a fight for the drivers honours, but they need wins.

Defending Manufacturers Champion Porsche is enjoying good season, RLH_Wesley taking 3 podiums in a row, and is starting to look like one of the favorites for the title. He had big battles start of the race going from second, to fourth, back to second etc, eventually finishing 3rd. He is expecting another podium fight in Red Bull Ring.

After 1-2 in Fuji, Audi missed out on podium in Monza. Nils had great start jumping in to second, and fighting for the lead. He though would have to focus on drivers behind him, and soon he dropped to third, then fourth. After pitstops he got himself back to second, but mistake cost him the podium. Nils talking about his chances this weekend: ''Perhaps a podium could be possible, that's what I'm hoping for''. His teammate Ryslan Zharinov struggled in Monza, losing several positions in start, accident earning him warning, bit of damage...He would get back to 5th place, but he is still championship leader. He also hoping for podium.

Mercedes still looking for first podium since Season 8. Emilius73 had decent race, but did not have the pace, and finished 6th. Watch out for him in Austria, againts drivers with weight ballast.
