Standard Forum Format?

I've been noticing that there are a lot of other forums with this similar layout or format? Is it a standard or is there only a few ways of laying out a forum? Ok thanks.

What you're looking at is a cusomised version of a boxed-product. For that reason, any other sites using the same product will display similarities of appearance.

If we really wanted to, we could change the layout (but this is so simple to use; I don't see why we would want to...)

nah it's something I just noticed, I think it's cool. I started to really like forums because it's a great place to get info, well organized too.
