Anyone else play this online? Looking for someone to pub with that actually wants to play as a team instead of taking vehicles out for a joyride and TKing teammates.

I would LOVE to get in on some of that action, but I have made a promis to myself to not spend more than $30 on video games, save a select few (GT4? (: )

So when it drops down I may join you.

:nudge, nudge: Splurge now! Battlefront is worth it :) You get to kill Gungans and Ewoks. What more can you ask for?

None of my old LAN buddies game anymore. I'm left playing with 12 year old l33t d00ds. :grumpy:

Fukin`eh, dude. Fukin`eh.

I went up to my friend's game center (bunch of PCs and XBoxes on big screens) expecting to find some guys of his and my ages (25 - 35), only to discover there was not a single other person over the age of 18 in the whole place.

I'll buy it, but only if it isn't subscription based like Galaxies is. That was what kept me from buying that game. Games where I have to pay a subscription to pay on top of the purchase price of the game itself annoy me.

Don't worry you don't have to pay a fee to play online.I have this game but i uninstalled it.I followed the hype and bought it but after a few days i lost interest(even though i'm a huge SW fan).Initially i though the game was fun, with all the vehicles and all but really, after you play it a few times it gets boring.Well that's just my 2 cents.

I like being able to control AT-STs and AT-ATs, those things rock. The speeder is just to darn fast for me and i just end up crashing. The only thing bad is that its quite laggy at times and they should have made a 64 player max instead of 32.

Yeah, that's kind of why I think I wasted my money on BF:V. I just don't have any interest in games where vehicles take precendence over shooting. They are fun but too difficult to use with a keyboard and mouse.

^^^ I just keep a joystick by my mouse pad and switch to that whenever I'm piloting a vehicle. It makes flying a snowspeeder a cinch. Last night on Hoth I downed 7 or 8 AT-ATs over two rounds. I even shot down some Imp bastage who jacked one of our speeders.

I don't know what kind of 'hype' there was over this game or what it has to do with evaluating it, but I've had it for a week now and I find the depth of gameplay pretty satisfying. Yea, there's some lag issues, but what game doesn't have those? Servers will get better when LucasArts addresses stability and connect issues.

The only real problem is there's just not enough people on the servers I've been to who want to treat it as something more than just a straightout FPS. Its like pulling teeth to get a simple coordinated assult to happen.

I'm a old school Team Fortress Classic player/clanner so I probably have a much higher expectation of teamwork than the average pubber. I guess I'll just have to join a clan again.

i would get it. however, i need to STOP buying games! it will be my downfall, i swear. I just recently bought Dawn of War, and ArmoredCore: Nexus. just in the last 3 weeks. so i've met my quota for a little while. And i already play Galaxies, and got an Invite to play the Beta for Jump to Light Speed, so i don't see battle front in my near future.

I have played it though, on a buddies laptop in single player, and it looks, and plays great! You can do some damage in an AT-AT. That sucks about not being able to get good players online, who would Take it more seriously. as in, everyone is part of a coordinated operation, working together. But that seems to be the way of gaming these days.

Team fortress (on Quake I) was awesome. Often had lan parties with 6-8 player at my first appartment. I almost always played as a sniper or a Demoman, loved to use mirv grenades to disloge the ennemy hidden in what he thinks is a good spot... CTF mod wasn't bad either, with the spiderman hook.

That was before i started using a mouse for aiming. Poor fingers...👎

For SW Battlefront, maybe I'll give it a try, but my gaming quota is also a bit over the limit for the amount of free time I have. I'll have to check if a Geforce2 GTS can handle it though.

If you guys get this game, let me know.

JP, that GF2 GTS will probably run it in 800x600 with a bunch of stuff turned off, unless you are CPU or RAM limited. There are a lot of polys flying around in SW:BF.

Wow, old thread.

Anyway, I got SW:BF today and was wondering if anyone was still interested in playing online?

I still play from time to time. PM me if you know the next time you're going to be on. I check my GTP PMs more often than my personal email. My SW:FB nick is "MOAB".

Clear out your inbox, ITR. :) Can't do this weekend. Packing right now to go out of town to attend a wedding. I'll catch you next week. Have fun and watch out for TK'ers.
