...Solo?

:boggled:

Y'know, there is an obscure 90s Sci-Fi action film of the same name, starring Mario Van Peebles. And it was... rubbish.

Here's hoping that this movie's overall quality does not follow suit of that oldie...

I have faith in Ron Howard.

...He's been a bit uneven of late, so I don't share the sentiment, unfortunately. Whenever someone says Ron Howard, all I can think of nowadays are the Dan Brown trilogy... and Rush, so yeah, uneven.

From what I’ve read, it’s going to be about characters we know nothing about in some distant corner of the galaxy. It might as well be a reboot of Dune.

I don't read the books. I've seen a youtube video mentioning Rey is a Palpatine. Is this true?

Because there are all these theories and I wasn't going to post all that. Plus, like i typed, I don't read the books to know her story. Hence, the "Spoiler" button.

Hmmm... if it's a Youtube video with "Theory" in the title, it usually means no-one actually knows - and the youtubers posting them are just after views. FWIW, TLJ director Rian Johnson has suggested that it's not that significant to the story, outside of being important to Rey herself (i.e. it's a big deal to her, but not necessarily to the SW universe..), he may be misleading us, but it's the closest thing to a proper answer there is for now.

Generally speaking, major plot points about major characters aren't revealed in the books or comics, they tend to fill in a lot of gaps with existing/known back stories or introduce new stuff that isn't required for, or even related to, the films.. so you shouldn't feel like you might be missing big things like that.

... unless you class Darth Maul hunting Rathtars, Wookie Bounty Hunters, psychotic protocol droids, new republic politics, and weird alien races we never see in the rest of Star Wars big things.

My guess based on that is probably the most obvious one, that the new trilogy will focus on Rey's parents.

11th on that suggestions list (I assume the list is different for everyone so I'm posting the link) can't be respected. The bed isn't tidied

Nobody does......yet.
Okay. Just thought your answer of "No" meant you may know something about it in the Star Wars universe.

True, but I didn't know Rey existed until Ep. VII. Even though I've seen all the movies, I was 9 when The Empire Strikes Back came out. The newer movies don't give me that same impact like back then. Which is why I'm not following the new stories as heavily.
Anyway, I was watching searching racing videos when I saw the Rey theories. Figured maybe I missed some talk about it and I'd ask some SW fans in the thread.

Just as we did for VII, a group of eight of us are heading to the theatre opening night for this. This time though, we've upgraded to the VIP option, so food/alcohol service and big comfy leather recliners. Should make that run time much more palatable. :D

Hey it's me, one of your eight people.

Hey it's me, one of your eight people.

We appreciate your dedication; we know it's quite the trek to Toronto (in December no less!).
