i think steering assist just makes it easier to turn.. it doens't turn FOR u..... if it does, then it's kinda screwed up because there would be no point to it
I wanted to tell group that the steering assist appears to affect the DS controller as well as the Logitech wheel. I played around with the steering assist settings last night, and they seem to quicken the response as you change from Beginner to Amateur to Professional. I'm using a handheld wheel, but its a DS controller as far as GT3 is concerned. The wheel is configured as the DS left analog control stick.
Tests were performed with the Mini @ 100HP and a MX-5 @ 200HP, both on T1 tires. I noticed that the Mazda turn-in was noticeably quicker which induced nice controllable oversteer at the Professional level. At the Beginner setting, the steering response seemed much slower, and resulted in a tendancy to understeer for the same suspension settings.
If anyone else can clarify this, I'd appreciate it. My test was kinda subjective. Thanks.
It effects a lot to the steering... Using a logitech force GP wheel and played with pro setting the first 10% of the game... then found the simulation setting and had to learn to drive with a new style. (Now at 35%)
Simulation makes the car more responsive to steering, and does not correct any steering mistakes anymore (or not as much) It can be noticed quite well with high powered (1000Hp) car with bad settings for suspension etc... (Just like my first car: mazda rx-7 infini)
After I changed to simulation, I found myself usually after a corner facing the wrong direction (Too much acceleration and front wheels not aligned perfectly)
...Just my opinion, not based on any facts.. ...btw, first post..
