hi all, is it worth having a steering wheel to use for gt5? i have heard that they are not very responsive, is that right? please let me know.
thanks

The steering wheel is a must for GT5 if you want to go faster.
Allows for more precision.
I have a Driving Force Pro.

Thanks + what is a driving Force Pro?

Driving Force Pro is this nice wheel that I've had for 3 years:

Nice and not too expensive.

I will not play GT5 with a controller, the wheel makes the game. If you don't want to spend a lot of money get a DFGT, I have a DFP, these cheap wheels are still fine. It is very responsive and allows for far more precision IMO but it is also better because it is much more like real driving.

Ok it definitely seems what a person said to me before about them not being very responsive was just 1 persons who he new so thanks guys you have persuaded me :)

ah OK thanks :D , with using steering wheel do you have to use manual or can you use automatic?

You can choose to have Automatic or Manual.
There's also paddles on the back, or you could use the sequential stick.

thanks for the information, do you get acceleration and brake pedals with it? i guess it would be pretty cool to have them to.

I put rubber under my brake pedal, if you arrange a few pieces of rubber or better still if you can find a larger piece that you can cut with a slope away from the back of the pedal you can get a decent progressive feel on the brake.

I'd call it cheap considering I am thinking of buying a Thrustmaster T500RS for $799 AUD.

If a new wheel is too expensive and you are unsure get a second hand DFP, they can be found for what anyone would consider a cheap price.

Go look around in the steering wheel sub forum, all of the steering wheel information you will ever need is there.

hmm anyone have a logitech g27 and want to write their oppinion about it ? :P

Like I told the other guy. Go look in the steering wheel sub forum, there is all kinds of info about every wheel made that works on the PS3. You will find alot more info there, then asking this here.
