after posting a topic in the ps2 forums wich had my signature come up, i thought i might as well share some news about how stickers actually do have effect on people.
my father owns a 2003 pontiac sunfire, 4 door, 5 speed.
now this car is known as quite the POS, but the new year is packed with quite the ballsy powerplant; a 2.2L DOHC 16 valve motor that pulls out 140hp@6200 and 150ft/lbs @ 4100.
a wide powerband gives this car quick acceleration and a healthy dose of high end power.
anyways back to the topic.
a month or 2 ago, i was at the mall waiting for my girlfriend to get off of work, so i could have a quickie before i went back home to bed.
i had about 10 minutees to spare before the mall closed and there was a local tuner boutique across the hall.
so i went and checked it out.
they had a wall of decals, and it got me to thinking about puttin some sort of tuner sticker on my dads car as a joke.
so first i looked for a greddy sticker, or HKS or something like that...but then it hit me, the name in my head ..."type R" ... and BAM, i looked for a type R sticker. i found the "legendary R emblem" and purchased the item for a whopping $5.65 cdn

i picked up my girl, went up to her house, had some fun, then i left to go home.
it had just rained and the car and the road was drying up so i decided to slap the "R" on the sunfire

so its around 10:30pm on a thursday night and the way home is in a higher caliber area of the local municipalities, and has quite the healthy dose of "tricked out cars".
so i pull out onto the 3 lane road when all of a sudden what do i see but some HID headlights in my rear view mirror.
so i speed up a bit and the headlights follow suit. red light up ahead the guy pulls up next to me.
the bloke was about 18/22 years old, well trimmed, hes driving a red EG6, lowered, windows tinted, hondatech.com sticker on his rear window, some sort of guage on his steering pod, a cluster of guages on his windshield side thingy, and the imfamous humming of an APC intimidator exhaust sytem.
so he rolls his window down and says, "type R eh?"
i reply, "yeah, sunfire type R, better back off" jokingly.
he smirks and rolls his power windows back up, revvs his motor...i chuckle menacingly at his puny SOHC.
remember my power stats??
the light goes green and the buddy dumps his clutch and takes off, i hit it as well....hes pullin about 5 feet ahead of me till i already realise im in 2nd, 3800rpm, havent even reached my powerband and im catching up.
so i lay off the gas and neck with him for about 5 seconds, i hear his engine screaming at full throttle, and i can tell hes got intake and a header in the thing.
i look over and smile, then i punch it.
it was no more than 2 seconds as i shifted into 3rd and he was slowly dropping behind, reach my powerband and i took off like sonic the hedgehog.
another red light up ahead and the guy pulls next to me again.
he looks angry, i look over and start laughing my ass off.
then but with all my luck so far, a 92 stang 5.0L pulls into the 3rd lane........OH ****!!!!
so this time i rev my motor up, i see the dude in the stang laugh hysterically at me......
so light goes green, i get exellent launch and the other 2 cars are trailing behind. the muffler of the SOCH was blanked out by the sound of the vicious V8 catching up to me.
so i put er in 2nd and i manage to level out with the stang...shifting into 3rd at max rpm i lose power at my low rpm range, stang passes me, but only untill he gets right infront of me do i reach my 5grand area and i keep ON HIS ASS the whole rest of the way.
at 140 i break it off and i see the honda chasing me down.
so i pull into timmy ho's and the honda follows.
the guy gets out and starts yelling at me about how i should watch my back, and how one day a honda tuner will kick my ass for disgracing the R badge.
he said i should stay off the streets with "that piece"....blah blah blah..
i tell him that "this piece just smoked ur asshole to lalapalooza and kept up with a 5.0L in the process. i the walk into the timmys, order some doughnuts and chill.
since ive put that sticker on, almost every civic with mods on it has revved its weak motor at me on a traffic light. and ive smoked every one. im not exaggerating, i actually have, and ive come VERY close to getting serious beatings, i guess because honda owners cant stand the fact that there almighty civic lost to a stock sunfire base model with 4 doors and a 12k sticker price......with a big red R on the back.
i put that sticker there in representation of how crappy hondas are, when you can put there idolized emblem on the back of ur car as a joke and still woop there asses.
:sidenote: i have lost to prelude sh, 03 accord coupe, acura tsx..DUH, but still kept up well.

my buddy has a 5.0 and another buddy of mine has a sunfire and the stang can destroy it....for goodness sake, my old volvo wagon beat a couple of sunfires....sounds fishy.....
