This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.
With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.
Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution!
In order to participate your car must be stock.
1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.
Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Intermediate Level 4WD Non-Race Car Challenge: Apricot Hill - 500 PP - SS
Expert Level FR Non-Race Car Challenge: Twin Ring Motegi East - 500 PP - SS

Expert - 466PP - Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02 - total time = 8:37.357 - MadMax
My results so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:
500PP FR at Twin Ring Motegi East:
466PP – 1:34.640 – 8:31.265 – Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02 – SH – FR – 292hp – 1270kg – XKR Coupe '10 – 8:32.930
Managed to get my pedals clean and no more brake drag.
First car I picked and first race. I had a very slow first lap (I couldn't remember where the deviation from the full GP was ) and after two laps, when I saw the time, I was thinking I'd been over-ambitious. But the time kept coming down and by the end it was quite an easy win. Very lucky with the line-up I reckon.
Well there's a coincidence. I only bought this car a couple of weeks ago because I was thinking about getting one irl. I need an estate and was looking for something a bit interesting. It's JDM but there seems to be a steady stream of low-mileage imports. They are rather expensive but if it's as much fun as this I may be tempted.
And my dang gas pedal is acting up again already. I used the 83 Civic for the beginner. I can't remember the details because I was pretty much staring at the beer can in my left hand the entire time. They're way slow around the Nürb.
500PP FR at Twin Ring Motegi East:
462PP - 1:35.411 - 8:37.364 - Mazda RX-7 Type R Bathurst R (FD) '01 – SH – FR - 276hp - 1260kg - Ferrari California '08 - 8:37.684
500PP FR at Twin Ring Motegi East:
457PP - 1:35.xxx - 8:37.321 - Mazda RX-7 Type RS (FD) '00 – SH – FR - 286hp - 1280kg - Corvette Stingray (C7) '14 - 8:37.338
Lower PP but slightly better power/weight ratio than the Bathurst R. @BWM - Very nice race in the Superbird. I might have to try a few muscle cars.
I did Apricot Hill in the 205 Turbo and have to agree with @lfm58, it is a very fun drive. You can have as much oversteer as you like, whenever you want it.
Great surprise coming from stock Lancer '92 since is very cheap, w/ competitive handling and SH tyres by default.
For sure could perform under 9:00 with more practice on.
At the end I did a coupe of shoots with this too expensive (160.000 Cr.) but very attractive car:
500PP 4WD at Apricot Hill:
432PP - 1:35.513 - 8:31.575 - Ford RS200 '84 - SH - 4WD - 250cv - 1180kg - Audi RS 6 '02 - 8:34.846
This is another "no limits" car of GT6.
It is clearly a street version of a top rally car and in the turny track is a predator machine for this Event and not only.
I'm aware that is too expensive to be acceptable for this stock car challenge criteria but it was performing so well paying back all the money I've put on the table for it.
ciao
EDIT: I raced a little more with Lancer '92, here is the new time:
Well done and thanks for report on remainder FR Mazda.
It looks too time consuming with CS tyres considering I'm still engaged on both current TTs.
Maybe another brand could be more attractive, any proposal?
Meanwhile I did a trackday in Germany with FF/CS cars, here the results:
Quite used by TT so I did 5 races with the top RX-7, here the score:
500PP FR at Twin Ring Motegi East:
466PP – 1:33.827 – 8:27.583 – Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02 – SH – FR – 297cv – 1270kg – Jaguar XKR Coupe '10 – 8:28.137
Down to 8:25 is possible but with PAD, AT, ABS1 only could be a very challenging target.
Anyway, great driving with cockpit view...
