Hi guys! Am new here and this is my first post! Been playing GT5 for the past 4 months now so my skills are not that sharp yet nor my knowledge of the game complete.

I have a question regarding the stock Evo X. For some reason, it feels slow. Engine does not feel like it has 300bhp. Particularly obvious if the car is around 4th gear. Any reason as to why?

Hi and welcome to the GTPlanet!

The Lancer Evo X weights 1540kg in the game (P.P. '07), I guess that is the reason why it has so slow acceleration. And of course if you had fun with a very fast car before changing to the Evo.. :)

Are you using any driving aids? They'll make the car feel a lot slower.

This, especially because TCS is set to 5 by default.

I notice that too the evos acceleration just dies off at 140 or so right? Its like the GTR almost.. no top end

Yeah this should be expected from the Evo as it only uses a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The sports hard tires slow you down a bit as well and as Rotorist said, you'll see that most cars do 0-60 faster than they should (unless you use comfort tires).

Correct me if I'm wrong...If I remember correctly the stock evo X understeer a little (like a lot of 4wd)...that's another reason why the car feel slow.

Welcome to the GTPlanet!:p

Boredgunner id normally agree with you but on the turbo 4 point i dont, the STI still pulls a bit up there.. on the Fuji drag race my friend and i conducted the Evo obliterated it by two car lengths down low, but once they got into the middle/out of 3rd gear (or whenever they stop frequently shifting) the STI EASILY reeled the Evo back in and if it had more room wouldve just run away, the Evo is only good for short races on tight tracks (i say short races because the 4B11s engine drone drives me crazy.. anything more than 15 minutes in that car and my head starts aching)

Yeah, that does make the car feel slower but should only affect cornering.

Maybe the traction control is set to default 5 as mentioned before, that would really mess up it's speed around a track.

Not trying to be difficult. But u fond this car very fast, acceleration is good, handling is good, and has alot of power for a 4Cylinder

Thank you for the very warm welcome guys! Feels good to be with a family of GT lovers!

My TC is actually set to 0. The only driver aid I use is ABS which is set to 1. And yes I it somehow has a hard time accelerating after 140kph. The STi on the other hand keeps on going. I'm usually a second or second a half slower in the Evo X in Trial Mountain compared to the STi because of it!

Maybe the stock gear ratio has something to do with it?
