Most of those cars had a fair bit more than the '276bhp' the gentlemen's agreement declared, so GT's representation of them is accurate in that sense.

Maybe so, but I've come across countless non-JDM cars with inaccurate horsepower post-purchase. The post-purchase horsepower for some/most/all the JDM cars can't be accurate then either, so I set them at 276. The torque stays the same as what it was pre-limiting anyhow, so that and the weight mostly decide who's fastest. When did that agreement begin and end?

In contrast to the Evo VIII RS, here's the Evo VIII GSR. Same 276 hp, same 327 ft-lbs, but 90 kg (200 lb) heavier.

Visit the link in my signature for stock time trials at Suzuka. I say stock, but my only modification is Sport Hard tires for cars that don't come stock with them. This keeps the playing field level. I have about 500 replays to upload and am up to 160. I only have time to record and upload 5-10 per day so it'll be about a month until they're all up.

A good driver should be able to match or beat my times by the 4th lap, as I only do a handful of laps with each car.

Take this Viper. It took all of my mental strength to pull off a 2:14 with dual shock after one clean lap and a whole bunch of restarts. This car is not for chumps. It's heavy, it's fast, and it has some annoying weight transfer characteristics.

Where did you put your wheel? Connect it and get to the next level :)

I will for GT7 as that should be even more realistic. GT6 still feels a bit arcadey to me.

I did not bother with Forza 5 but do have Forza 2,3 and 4 as well as GT 4,5 and 6 and several PC titles.
In my experience some track/car combos are close and others quite a bit apart. Nurburgring is easier on Forza but I am faster on GT 4,5 and 6 than on any of the Forza titles. Usually by several seconds or more.

As of Forza 3 the Forza experience leaves a bit to be desired, while still a good game they hurt it a lot when they messed up the ABS which actually worked pretty well in Forza 2 where as in FM 3 and 4 with ABS on the wheels will lock up with ease. Combine that with the way they added the clutch and the unrealistic shifting made it almost impossible for those who don't want to use the manual clutch to compete. In most cars in FM3 and 4 using a manual clutch gives you a car length on every shift over an auto clutch and auto trans users don't stand a chance anymore.

They also hurt it a lot when they removed the local leaderboards, tournaments and changed the online game play.
FM2 is still the best of the Forza titles to date.
thats why...
