I dont like standard physics because you cant oversteer or understeer realistically. I use Professional because I prefer the realistic feel. If you prefer the arcady feel then thats that.
Racing bumper to bumper and exchanging positions on nearly every corner cleanly ... *SNIP*
I can honestly report that I've never used standard physics since I got the game. I just found it pointless in a game purporting to be the "real driving simulator".
I'm a hardcore car enthusiast and sim lover, so the more realistic (difficult) the better!👍
He was not refering to you. He is refering to a thread posted about the guys 7yr old daughter who drives really well for her age![]()
There certainly shouldn't be any elitism with regard to which physics you choose on this forum at the very least - to my knowledge, the idea of this community is to welcome people of all abilities, so someone can run with standard physics and even with driving aids if they wish, and they shouldn't be looked down upon.
Of course, at the same time, this is a community of people who constantly strive to be better at GT and as such, many of us prefer to race on Pro physics without any driving aids (ABS excepted for many of us) and the comments made above are true - it does take more skill to drive quickly on Pro, and the racing is generally better too though punters do still find their way into Pro races.
Nothing wrong with the physics, plenty wrong with the way they're being used online.
i mostly play with standard physics and it is very fun. i dont feel i am going fast and to hard to control with professional physics. But people on this forum mentions standard physics is for newbs and inexperienced people but i have to disagree. the community for standard physics is alot more bigger than those of you who play pro physics only. I have more than 80+ friends i've made for 1 year of playing gt5p standard physics and i see them all the time on 800pp suz or fuji recently. the professional races are often empty and hard to find races. it is not that we are inexperienced, we prefer more speed and more fun with setting up and tweaking the car.
I much prefer the pro physics setting, Gran Turismo is all about being as realistic as possible and thats why I love it so much, but when I go on my favorate online race (Suzuka/Fuji, expert, PP550, RWD) its very rare to find any more than 4 others racing & then you look where everyone is & typically the majority of players are on Daytona Speedway (begginer) possibly the most boring race where it's more about blind luck than skill which I couldn't be less interested in, I just hope & pray that we don't see the same kind of thing on GT5.
We won't mostly because all you're seeing is the waning numbers still playing Prologue.
If you were around a year and a half ago when Prologue was first released, you would have easily found full grids in all races and modes.
Yeah your probably right since there will be a lot more people playing GT5 but despite the waning number of players on Prologue it still bugs me because there are plenty of people still playing the game its just that at any given time probably at least 30 of them are on each of the begginer races and literally 2, 3 maybe 4 players are on each of the expert races, not always but most of the time.

I prefer the challenge of going fast with Pro physics, plus I prefer more realistic physics. And how do you know how many friends I have on my PS3 friends list?
did i mention pro physics people have less friends? read the post correctly if you can buddy. don't make false assumptions. it was a mistake posting this on the forum. sorry people. go back to your fun, exciting, challenging pro physics gt5 people. do not bother post anymore with your sarcasm and belittling.
