Maybe you'd want to check out one of the Grand Theft Auto titles...They allow you to do a few other things as well...

i actually wouldnt mind something along the lines of that. not quite what serigio said, but along the lines.

I was slightly intrigued by what Kaz was planning on doing. a Large free roam city/are where you can drive around while adhering to traffic rules.

Yeah i could do that in real life, but it would be cool to do it in GT5 because then i could drive around in a ferrari/ lambo/ zonda etc and then drive up onto the freeway and try to rip through traffic

and perhaps it would be cool to make people in these environments, and have them react to you. maybe have a girl throw their numbers at you whenever youre driving in a ferrari lol (jk)

If Kaz ever implements "Free Mode" in GT, I doubt you'll be ripping through the traffic. I bet the game would not let you break the traffic laws.

Knowing our luck it will be integrated in GT6. You'd have to drive to race events while sticking to the speed limits and waiting in traffic. When you get there you'd realise you have the wrong tyres and would need to drive 100 miles to the tuning shop to buy new ones:ouch:
 
And bird droppings will ruin the paint finish on your car; and dead bugs on the grill and windshield-off to the car wash...

It's a driving simulator... racing is just one of the things you can do with it.

Yeah racing is just one of the things you can do in GT 5 BUT IT'S THE MAIN ****ING THING!
 
Even if it was possible to do those things someone would then complain that you can't open the sunroof or pop the hood lol, some people are never happy
 
Actually, with a G25/27 in H shifter mode and clutch, you can stall the engine and sit in silence.
Maybe not freely look around as such but you can experience fully stopping, taking a breather and then starting your engine again (just blip the throttle).

I sometimes do this between hot lapping to enjoy the startup sound of some cars and enjoy their low-rev noises.
 
Yeah, because expanding the audience of the game would be a stupid idea.



If we only want the pure on track part of the game, they would have to remove allot of the things they already have. Why don't you are restricted to one race series for your entire career, nothing else. After all, I've never seen an IRL F1 driver take a break mid series to race against S. Loeb in a rally event. Also, you can't walk around track with cameras IRL so scrap photo mode to. We should also not be able to paint our cars or change the rims, since it doesn't actually affect the racing itself.

Seriously, the negative attitude of people on this forums is getting ridiculous.
I say any feature that could add to the experience in this game should be included. I can understand people who might not want to do this, but what the hell does anyone gain from them not adding this.
