Hey everyone! I'm sure we've all been putting long hard hours into this game, which definitely means there's something you'll probably like to tell the world. It could be that one really nice overtake you made in Rally, how you got caught in a Rally Cross pile-up and tumbled 8 times, or even how you lost it all at the very last turn. Whatever it is, tell us about it!

Just now I finished a 5 race Rallycross. A couple of guys were on mic and seemed to be pretty cool about playing. One of the guys had a quick favour to fulfill and thanked all of us for being so patient. Fast forward to the 2nd race. Some more people join, the next race took place at the L.A Coliseum. A whole bunch of people take the first turn poorly, while I am slowly overtaking them through this corner. One of the guys swerved a little hard to recover from the drift getting a fishtail sequence. He happened to nick my rear quadrant and I lost slight control of the car. I was about to pass the toll booths but I slid out and nudged the side, causing me to come to a complete halt. That wasn't even the worst part. I was going to recover from it, but some dingbat just HAD to rear-end me into the toll booth again which took out my front wheels and 6 seconds into the race I DNF'd....

I conversed with one of the guys as they were getting all excited how there were a lot of body parts on the ground near that area. So I waited through that 10 lap race... even cleaned the basement toilet to kill time. Lucky for me, the position at the starting line was set up as "Previous Results Reverse", which meant I was placed in the front for the next race.

So we race at the Smelter now... While being in 1st place, I was hanging onto it like a scared baby holding onto mommy. I did have tough competition. Maybe some of you know him/her, Uthrolic -something something? Yeah, I've played with this guy before 2 weeks ago in Rally and he's pretty good in RX too. I knew this guy would be able to overtake me at certain points as he was driving the WRX GR (which I presume is the best RX car in its class). However, he was getting a little reckless trying to overtake so he would resort to late braking. I let him go through with that by early braking and passing him from the inside where he would slide to the outside of the apex... Yeah I took that race. No sweat :)

My short story of a mistake when rallying.

Yesterday it was,
I was racing with a nice group of guys and we've been rallying for hours. Not the point. Anyways, we're driving PRO class cars and I'm in a Citroen C4 at Finland. Half way through the race I made a slight mistake of going way to wide and having to brake to hard (And with ABS off made it a little difficult) so at the point of 3/4s through the stage a competitor caught up to me and was asking for me to move out the way (Quite politely I'm suprised) and just my luck, I move to the left and hit a bump, as there's a rock formation going along the left side of the track, and I end up ricocheting off the rock to the right in a barrel roll movement. He laughed as I was spinning freely, when all of the sudden, I end up landing in front of a tree, destroying my car. They all laughed of course, for some of them were already finished and were spectating. I had to laugh to as it was pretty funny and it only happened in a matter of 3 seconds. I wasn't able to beat them the next race as my car was destroyed again. (I hate those group of logs on the inside) Oh well, that's my story. I wish I had saved the replay, but I didn't know how...

1. Its funny when people lose places because they get stuck on the barriers at the finish
2. When I was a level 5, I managed to beat a level 35 and a level 40 on open rally and I got a lot of abuse shouted down the mic which I just pressed my melodic horn to..XD

1. Its funny when people lose places because they get stuck on the barriers at the finish

I was running an online Rally a while back ... one of the Finland courses ... I dropped a tire on the last corner and lost the rear. It swapped ends and I figured I'd just go to reverse and back over the line as I had a really fast time and was sitting in P2. I lost a lot of speed and ended up backing in to the timing marker for the finish and couldn't move it. I dropped from a first place finish to 7th ... ahead of the guy that DNF'd.

After that jump you make in the Coliseum loop when you enter the stadium, and then face a right turn to the finish. I had lost a tire on the last lap and someone was closing in on me. He was planning to over take me from that inside of the last corner, but prior to the jump I had moved to the right a little (but not making any contact) which forced him to move closer to the wall. We both jump, I land beside that orange/white barrier, which meant that guy lands on that and I keep my 2nd place

Another time, at the same location, I was so eager to catch up to 1st place after getting into those "pile-ups at the first corner". I was so close, but I knew I wouldn't be able to take 1st from this guy was he was just too far. When suddenly, after he lands the final jump, he loses control and smack into the barrier and I steal his gold medal

Well just got the game not too long ago but was doing an online rally cross race and being in 1st with a lap to go I had a brain fart and slammed into a toll booth. I finished 7th of 7...

I've done a few vertical takedowns (see burnout paradise) on DiRT 3 which really pees people off or pushing someone on that tight corner on LA coliseum is also pretty funny.

I was using the Ice cream truck horn and i was catching up to this guy. He wouldnt get out of the way so i played the music... and... he hit a tree lol Best moment ever.

He must be allergic to ice cream  I switched from that to Fire UK... I figured that'd be annoying enough if I ran it forever. I also remapped horn to X so I can run it all day long in Outbreak

On the DiRT tour I was doing a landrush event at Smelter, 8 laps. I get out front and I'm leading comfortably from midway through lap 1, but the truck is handling weirdly, Bags of understeer but only in certain corners. I battle through to the finish but its closer than normal. When I do cross the finish it switches to the outside view and there it is... the front right tyre is missing! I had just driven 8 laps of what should have been nursing it home to find that at turn 1 I had made contact with someone, and then following a jump landing it had blown! I was most of the way through the tour and didn't know tyres would blow in this way...

I do that all the time in Rallycross from being too aggressive because there are no damage lights so I think its my driving then it's on far camera and a tyre is missing.

I love outsmarting people in Cat 'n' Mouse.

I was running the Mini, at LA Coliseum, completing a lap and coming up to turn 1. I notice an RS200 catching me up as I'm looking back.

So I reach turn 1, and the RS200 guy is nearly on me, and he looks like he's going to shunt me from behind and hopefully put me into the barriers ahead. When I start braking for the corner, the RS200 doesn't stop and I steer slightly to the left, completely avoiding contact and causing the RS200 to go straight into those barriers at, say, 80 mph at least :) Awesome.

It's hard to tell if someone will psych you out with braking in a driving game unless it was completely obvious that you were going to do it. Having said that, the chaser has to really analyze the decisions you make to make the right guess at which way you'll swerve.

Not sure if this counts, but just set a world record time at the Route Des Anges stage in Monte Carlo with a 1:22.433. Knowing my luck it won't stay there for very long, but I'm happy while it lasts. :p

today i drove the VW race touareq.
I was completely blown away by the power and the sound.
it sounds like a caterpillar:)
it's my favorite car , not to fast and it sounds sóó powerfull with that turbo diesel sound.
Love it:tup:

I've set a few world records I think I've seen. What exactly is that? Only got the game a few weeks ago and never did really know.

Not sure what you're asking. It was an open class car, the McRae R4 or whatever it's called.

You're a baddddd story teller.

edit: So some dude saw me floating in that spot I showed off earlier. He didn't see how I did it, but on the next round he managed to do it, but I think he magically discovered an easier method than what I do. I found it amazing someone managed to catch him still.

In world tour I understeered on the last corner at finland with an RS2000 and hit the red box and I flipped in to trees

Speaking of hitting the dreaded red marked box at the end. I was in JAM sessions and was rallying in S2000 class cars. It was at Finland like your race. I already finished so I was watching cars drive by the finish line. When the 3rd car came it hit the red box and he driver instantly became a DNF. The cars front was a mess. It simply happened and it was very funny.

You guys know how even with collisions on, if you're approaching a car that you're travelling much faster than, they turn into ghosts and you can drive right through and pass?

Yeah well one time it didn't happen (in Rally). Like 2 guys up ahead passed them and I figured I could take whatever line I pleased since he was still a ghost, when all of a sudden it changed back into a tangible vehicle and bam I DNF... totally unfair.

Today I had a pretty intense Head 2 Head online race at Smelter. Me and the other guy started in our WRC cars and from the very beginning we were going neck-and-neck. When I was braking for a corner, he was in the lead, when he was breaking before a turn, I was in the lead. I was doing my best not to make any mistakes. Everything during those 2 intense laps went just fine until the very last corner. I was in the lead, but I knew that everything can change and I could loose by 0.001 s. I entered the last corner just perfectly, but too much throttle on the exit caused a massive understeer and I crashed into the wall. Instead of winning with the guy, I lost by over 7 seconds... FML ;<

This is sort of a story...

Ok so I'm just racing with these guys doing a lot of rallying. And so we go onto Pro class cars and someone had just joined before we started, once we we're all on the track, the guy who had just joined before starting was driving the Opel Manta 400! A 90s car! Is this a glitch? And because he was in that car his time was greatly affected.

I'm assuming that happened because the previous cars we were using were 90s, but how does this happen if it was changed?

Doing time trial (Mountain Drive with 60's cars) I was having a hard time cracking 3.02, and was getting a bit frustrated at the constant restarts I was having to do... I decided to take a break from playing just to calm down and get my mind onto other things...

The next evening I come home from work and fire up the game to have another bash at it... my first run down I do a 2.57.5 and put myself into the top 5 on the PS3 leaderboards.

Awesome! Where in the top 5 by the way?

Do you mean the stage?

60's cars
Michigan - Mountain Drive

I'm definitely there (unless someone's knocked me down...)... I've been taking pictures to stick on my competing friend's facebook page.

I'm also in the top 5 for the same stage but 70's cars - that DLC Stratos is a beast!

I was doing a single race in a Monaco rally stage and I spinned, the engine went off and the car facing the wrong direction... as I never had the engine off before I took a while to put it in neutral and start the engine... and my co-pilot says... «Yes I see... so you are giving them a head start... How kind of you...» I found it very funny... never heard that before...:dopey:

I lost lots of seconds. But i quickly caught up with the them.

And i won the championship:D
