I thought I'd start an open discussion on doing stunts in SA.

In the Vice City record book, Deli Dingo posted this:

You were talking about stoppies being hard on SA: 68 seconds with the bike!
68 seconds? I haven't pulled off a successful stoppie yet. Whenever I try, CJ just lunges forward on the bike and it comes to a halt. Can't get one at all with the PCJ or cop bike (HPV1000?).

And I haven't come across a Faggio type bike yet to try with on a long stretch of road.

What bike did you use for that stoppie Deli?

I haven't tried getting high rotations with the PCJ yet. My best rotation so far was when I got 300 degrees in the opening mission on a BMX. I just hit a wall and spun off.

edit to add: When you say you did the stoppie on a "bike" do you mean generically as in any sort of 2 wheel vehicle like the PCJ or cop motorbike or "bike" as in the bicycle called "Bike"?

I have a rotation of about 1800 with the BMX bike. I took it to the top of the highest building in Los Santos, then rode it off the edge on one of the little slopped ramps and turned at the end to get some rotation. Not only is it fun but you can get a decent amount of cash for sometimes.

I havn't tried any stoppies yet. Havn't had much luck with wheelies, it seems to be harder using the analog stick, where as I'm used to the d-pad on Vice City.

KM - I did it with the BMX. It was a glitch where I was balanced on the front tire without moving or pushing any buttons. I could have went FOREVER, but it got boring after 68 seconds. I kind of don't want to tell you where it happened, I mean. . . .I forgot! Yeah that's it, I forgot where it happened. ;)

Well it might be a glitch, or just the fact that CJ has incredible balance.

I done this with a wheelie, but the funny thing about that is, while I was doing it, The Ballas started trying to take over Grove Street, so I hopped off and started my war.

I've said it before, the BMX is your ride to ultimate stats. Has anyone tried taking one down to one of the Skate/BMX Parks and doing some tricks, for example, backflips?

Nah. I've seen the skate park a few times, but can never find it when i've got a bike.

BTW did you know that you can zoom in on the map (start button) with the shoulder buttons? It's in the manual, there's other stuff too. Sweet as.

I came across a skate park while on the PCJ and messed around for a couple of minties but I don't know if being on a BMX or other bicycle allows you to do anything special.

I knew that, but only because it was the same in Vice City. I haven't even looked at the manual yet apart from to get the song listings.

There is a faggio-- when I get a stoppie going my rear end comes around on me-- it seems easier to start then in VC but I have the same problem with trying to control it with the stick-- in VC with the Dpad I could get it started and get it going pretty far before it came around.

Any ideas as to the best bike for jumps-- I can't decide-- the PCJ, the BF and the FCR are all kick @ss--- FCR seems to be the fastest, the BF seems to get more height (lighter maybe)...PCJ seems in between. Lots of bikes to choose from in this game-- besides them, there is the sanchez, a touring bike (handles likes the police bike), the police bike and of course the BMX....haven't seen a pizzaboy yet.

Tried the Wayfarer or the Police Bike for jumps (HPV1000?)? They are quite fast. Especially the latter.

Well, I believe one of the New Details about the BMX that was released, was that it can do backflips, and a few other neat things that I can't remember. I'm going to try it some time.

I think I saw a pizzaboy while driving around Los Santos. I can't remebre where though. It was the day I got the game I was just exploring the city and come around a corner and there went one by me. I turned around to see if it was, but it had disappeared :(. I haven't checked the pizza shops, but maybe like Vice City there will be one parked next to it.

I've only seen them driving around, never seen them by the pizza place.

I have seen loads of pizza boy fagios on the highway by the docks in Los Santos. I was looking for a flatbed at the time to jump into the airport :D.

I've come across the PCJ600 and the BF400 but not the FCR. I don't even know what it looks like. I haven't done much on the BF400 but it seems pretty nippy. I have one stored in my garage and I'm going to take it out to do some unique jump locations. I keep seeing ramps that I reckon are unique jump locations but I'm usually in a crap car or on a mission so I just write down the location so I can go back.

I think it depends on the type of jump you are trying to get-- which bike you need--- the FCR looks similar to a PCJ-- kind of bigger-- seems faster and has good acceleration. Sounds alot different. I haven't found one for a while.

the BF seems to be more like a fast, less bouncy sanchez-- I think its kind of a good between bike (off road & street)--- I think it gives you more height and stuff-- good all around stunt bike--- for unique jumps that need distance, I can't get enough speed--- I've completed 7 so far and found 3 more (some were pretty remote)--

I did open up the 2nd island and found a unique way to visit the 3rd island--I didn't live long there though--I was in a bad area....

My best rotation is still 1117 degrees on a BF (I think).

I've found and completed 7 so far. I have a few noted locations I think might be unique jumps to check. I found one that took quite a bit of experimenting to get right. I eventually got it with the BF400 - it needed a bit of height to carry it off.

On a BMX does anyone else get the weird...almost glitch-like event of when pulling a stoppie, when you are in the stoppie but stationary ready to let your rear wheel touch the ground again...the rear wheel just stays in the air and very slowly goes down after about 8 seconds. Its a good way to get high stoppie stats but is really stupid.

I've been messing around a load to day, ignoring the missions and just having a laugh and i came across a really funny thing to do.

Get a bike (any type, but bmx is all good), and take it to the building where you get the parachute from (won't disclose for fear of spoiler bashing). Drive the bike into the icon outside the building and you get taken to the top. Get the 'chute and equip it. Get on the bike and line youself up with one of the mini ramps and drive fast towards it. As you hit the ramp, bail off the bike (you can't bail while the bike is free falling). Pop the 'chute and try to follow your bike. It's so damn funny, i left the chute closed until the last minute, pulled it, landed and my bike landed only a few feet away. Classic stuff :D If you stay on your bike, you can spin loads and create some gnarly scores. Just make sure the bike is parallel to the ground when you land.

Also checked out some stunts on the BMX at the park (it's right next to one of the hospitals) and it's tough to do anything worth while. Best i've done is a 540, but the game doesn't rack up your score as i hoped it would Tony Hawks style, in fact it doesn't tell you what you got at all. Bummer. Best thing i've found with the bmx is bunny hopping over police vehicles. So good.

When you chuting I like to free fall and push forward and soar bullet like. But on-topic, when I do the BMX off the tower jump, sometimes I hit the ledges on opposite buildings and get wasted, so annoying.

Yeah that happened a lot to me too. Try the corner behind the railings (near the stairs). That one points out over the intersection ;)

Yeah 'chuting bullet style rocks.

They actually 'crap' themselves in 1942? You're gonna have to elaborate.

I personally think it would've been cool to allow CJ to act in the same way when free falling without a 'chute as when you are free falling with one. But bullet diving head first into the ground would be pretty messy i guess,

Can anyone point me at this building that you can go to the top of??? I guess you best PM me if you don't want to give out a spoiler.

I'm assuming its downtown but I've been all over and don't remember seeing one you could enter (besides ammunation)--- at least give me a land mark and a direction, hopefully I can find it from there.

I've found 3 I think, not looking for them. I haven't done them though, but they were obviously Unique Stunts. I'm now in San Fierro, and I found a couple that could be Unique Stunts there.

I've found a great method for getting some very fast spins. I just need to find a good location where I can do it and also get some good airtime. I've been all over the map but haven't found a good spot yet. But I hopefully will eventually.

I have a great method for getting 2-Wheel Scores, I wasn't gunna give this trick away but I decided to be nice. Attach the Magnet Crane to your car (preferably with high ground clearance I found) and then get into the car and drive away from the crane. When the magnet cable goes taught the car should lift, now, if you drive perpendicular to the crane at the cable's limits the outer 2 wheels should start to lift as the cable tries to pull you in. If you keep the car balanced like this your 2-Wheel scores can be huge.

If you don't get what I said I might make a video of it soon, sorta like the Superjump demo vids.

you can do an infinite stoppie on guardrails and i imagine short enough walls... if your bike (sanchez works best for me) is perpindicular to the guardrail you will just sit there on your front tire while your back tire rests on the guardrail... i got a 40something second one and got bored... its a little tricky to in it up right but not too bad..

about the unique jumps. i think i have like 17 or 18 with 25 or so found total... a few of them i have no idea how to get credit for the jump, i just see the slow motion unique jump camera... there are a couple i recall takeing an fcr900, getting it to top speed and hitting the jump from all different directions still not geting credit for it.... i believe someone said that the unique jumps were one of the few things that aren't included in the 100%.. i know a lot of people had trouble getting credit for the jumps in vc but i never really did... next time i play i'll try and remember some of the exact spots i'm referring to and see what you guys think...

i remember there is one that on the interstate in the southeast of the first city.. in the median right before (or right after) a tunnel there is a guardrail that ends in a ramp.. you can hit it from either direction to get the slo mo camera and i have tried landing everywhere i can reach and still can't get credit for it.. this was on an fcr...

I have 29 found and 28 completed.

The one you're talking at the highway by the airport about I got eventually. I'm not sure what you have to do though. I just hit it a few times until I got credit.

I'm making a point of finishing each one as I find it so I at least know that I've done all the ones I've found. But there's one I found early in the game I didn't complete and I can't remember which one. :dunce:

T. Vercetti?! I thought you were dead?

Just kidding.

I used that 2-wheels trick a couple of times, except I kept lifting into mid-air so it wouldn't count. I know it's easy to keep on 2-wheels, but strangely I never thought of Records. I was just having a bit of fun.
