sudden crack down

i was just wondering why there seems to be sudden crack down on the rules, guide lines, and grammar here? not that its bad it just seems very sudden to me.

Because there seems to be sudden, multiple instances of violation of the AUP.

I think it happens to be the most violated AUP rule, and the most annoying too.

But that is just my opinion, the mods might say different.

Second is using foul language. Neon Duke suggested to not use language that you wouldn't us in front of your mother. In the house I grew up in, this suggestion dosen't work at all. Our house was worse than the Ozbourne's when it came to speaking to each other.

IMO, alot of the reason for the sudden "crackdown" are n00bs to the site who either A: haven't read the AUP, or B: who have read the AUP and completely disregard it. Personally I think that all those who fall in group B should be banned (how will we know? you answer that, I'm just sharing my opinion). Here's a suggestion for Jordan though, make a thread with the AUP in it saying "don't read this!" in the title, because in my experience that gets people to read it...

The reason there has been a "sudden crackdown" is that all of these rules have always been in place, but recently everyone has gotten incredibly sloppy about following them. The rules actually make GTP a better place and so a number of us have decided we're not going to let stupidity and laziness ruin a very good community with a lot of excellent members, both recent and long-standing. So we're cleaning house.

It's not really a matter of noobs. There are old members that need to shape up or find a new home as well.
